I just started shopping at Hobby Lobby and at this particular location I've encountered a lot of nice helpful workers except for one. There is an older woman by the name of Tina who is quite rude and unprofessional. She's lazy, she has terrible body language while talking to customers and she's just a hot mess all the way around. If you ask her a question she puts on this ridiculous frown and when the lines are long she will not jump on the register to help because she tries to play as if she's some type of manager. She's lazy. I asked her one question about the Christmas items and she turned her lip up and started waving her finger as if I was bothering her by asking a question about her job. I did not appreciate that and I will be reevaluating if I should even shop at Hobby Lobby anymore. read more

This is the store I never knew I needed!! We moved here a month ago and I've been in here 7 times already!! It is like Christmas literally they have Christmas and every other Holliday decor, craft, baking thing you could ever need!! I love the sales and could go in everyday if my husband would let me. ZERO STARS. OK so this is the last time I'm going to use this hobby lobby store. I'm moving so I need boxes and I'm going around looking for places that are getting rid of their boxes like you do... and I go into Hobby lobby and sure thing there's a guy who just unloaded a bunch of pink flamingos out of four big boxes that are sitting there empty with bubble wrap. I asked him if I could have the boxes and he said, "sure"! So as I'm getting the boxes and checking through them to make sure they didn't leave any parts in the boxes, he calls his manager to ask permission! (after he already gave me the go ahead to take the boxes) And to my surprise, his manager says NO!!! I can't take cardboard boxes that they're going to throw away. So then I ask if I could talk to the manager about it since he already said yes and it was only for boxeex....it would really help me out. The employee working the floor who initially said I could have them, refused to let me ask the manager personally to see if he would do me a kindness and please let me have the four boxes because I can't afford to buy boxes as I'm awaiting disability and am currently losing my home. Soo..I'm working on a big project and started with this Location first. Basically over half of my design project was completed during this visit. Despite what is going on in the world right now, the staff was excellent my first and return visit. Interestingly enough, even the customers were nice and friendly. Just a wonderful shopping vibe. The selection here is great and Mr. Rick Brown/management mentioned ordering bulk is no problem on certain items which encouraged me to shop more. I truly felt like a valued customer from management to floor staff all the way back to a very talented man in the frame department who fixed a table leg for me to perfection. Went in looking for an item. The store is huge, couldn't walk the whole store so I thought I'd ask an employee upon walking in where I could find that item. Well, I couldn't find an employee that worked the floor. As I stumbled around the store looking for an employee to help me find what Im looking for...I finally found an employee!!! I sent my daughter to this store which was 45 minutes away. We called in advance for the item and once she requested it at the front counter, the manager went to retrieve it. However, when my daughter went to pay for it, the Customer Service clerk at the returns counter was very rude and would not give her the 40% discount. Her phone was broken and couldn't pull up the code. Most stores will enter in a code so the customer can use the benefit. No there! She became even more rude and refused to do it. I called the Manager on the phone and he said, "Oh, we stopped doing that years ago!" That can't be true because we've been there several times this week and the discount was given! I used to come here a lot when I first moved to mcdonough two years ago. I made most of the decor throughout my apartment. I rarely go now, except for holiday needs. Cheapest decor hands down. The only complaint is lines. There's always a line. read more

I shop at the McDonough 205 South Point Bvld. McDonough location frequently: as a small business owner, I am very worried about the decline of product selection and attention to customer service. Lack of customer service skills in October 2012: I tried it again 11/20/12 and 12/8/12, not only had yarn not been ordered, but the cashier was really rude about it. When I asked the cashier about it, she was very pert about it, to the point of being rude -- a very careless and flippant "I don't know" answer, implying she really didn't care. When I explained that I was a small business owner, and the reason I asked was because it was a waste of gas for me to come to the store when stock wasn't being ordered and that I wanted to know when some would be in, she flatly said that she didn't know. At the end of our transaction, I asked her if she would mind getting the manager for me, so that I could ask them instead. She was a little huffy, and pointed to a middle aged-man, balding dark hair in the front lobby. At first, the manager was standoffish until he realized that I wasn't complaining but just needing to verify when the yarn would be coming in, or if they had missed a truck order. He explained to me that he did not know, because it was a warehouse issue, and they had not had any in the warehouse to ship him so-to-speak. So, I waited until today to go back after nearly 3 weeks, 12/8/12, as opposed to my once a week visit to see if anything had been ordered. Not only had anything not been ordered, there was less than what had been there prior in the yarn aisles. I decided not to buy anything this time, and I intended to send an email to find out what was going on at this store/warehouse issue. This visit didn't end here though... when my mother went to pay for her Christmas cards, I noticed that 5-6 people were waiting in line ahead of her and that it was like this at every register. This store seems to need more people working the registers, as this has happened before. My mother moved to another line because it was moving a little faster; however it just so happened to be the same young brown haired, brown eyed young woman who had blown me off the last time I was there. I made it a point not to say anything to her, because I didn't want my mother to see how she acts when asked a question by a customer. She checked my mother out, and then my Mom said to me could I throw away her empty drink cup. Having worked as a cashier before becoming a small business owner, every register has a trash can of some sort, due to register tape, plastic wrapping, etc. I proceeded to lean over the counter as I said "May I throw this away please?" As the trash can was directly beside the paneling, in plain view, this cashier proceeds to tell me that there is no trash can, though I can see it 4 ft. from me. I motioned with the cup in the direction of the trash can. She then took the cup out of my hand. I told her thank you. I walked about 7-10 ft. away, as she starts yelling "MA'AM !!! MA'AM !!" I turn around, and said "Yes?" She proceeds to ask "Would you take this outside and throw it away? It has water in it." The cup had no liquid in it, it was half full of ice that had not melted. Done with her being so impolite the other time I had been in the store and asked her assistance, I smiled smugly and said in a soft voice "No, I really can't." I called the manager shortly after 2pm today, explained to him the situation, that I didn't want anything, except to explain to him the importance of customer service needs to be explained to his cashiers, and that I had never felt unwelcome shopping there, but that I had been made to feel that way. I waited for him to apologize or say he'd correct the matter, but he said nothing. He acknowledged what I said, but never said how he would correct the problem or sincerely apologized for the incidents other than to dismiss the yarn not being available as his fault. This is a great store to shop at for Home decor..the staff is friendly..however I was shopping there a couple of days ago and I was in the checkout line..when unfortunately the manager inserted himself into the transaction and was very rude and loud practically yelling across the registers about a price inquiry...his name Rick Brown and he needs better training in customer service and management skills. read more

Hobby Lobby is my store...always will be! I will go there first in my search for crafts, etc......only if I can't find it do I then go to other type stores. I understand that some people are put off by their stance on abortion causing drugs but I for one am thankful that my money doesn't go to support this cause. Keep on keeping on HOBBY LOBBY.
