I just received a call that they are booked up tomorrow and won't be making the delivery but will reschedule for next week. I am furious about this total lack of consideration for all the arrangement I had to make to be home tomorrow for the deliver and the lackadaisical attitude of the scheduler. Worst run Costco store . Just by way of example, lines out the door during early Executive Membership hour on a friday. Same layout as any Costco you have been to before. Need membership card to enter and they only accept visa credit card. All in all, just an average place. read more

They never have any samples, they're militant about asking to see your membership card even after you enter the store, and they now only accept Visa or their store credit card. Self checkout has no scanner gun and forces you to completely unload your cart onto a little metal counter, then reload it back into your cart after paying. This happened after everything was rung up; I forgot my check card and MY WIFE who has a joint bank account with me pulled her card out to pay and the cashier shouted at us and said "I can only take payment from the member". I tried to explain that she is my wife and we share the same account, but she started screaming for a supervisor. "I need a super" she screamed. She made us feel like we had done something wrong. "It's in the rule book". "We have new management" she said. The supervisor was no better, making us feel like criminals. I AM DONE WITH THE WINCHESTER COSTCO. My family spent over $9,000 last year. Usually is lowest price for practically everything. I especially like the gas prices, sometimes as much as $.25 per gallon cheaper than most gas stations. Tip: Tues-Wed-Thurs are the best time to come, especially before 11am. Tip: always ask for a box to load the food into as they don't offer grocery bags . read more

The audiologist, Dwayne and his colleagues are fantastic. They recognized a problem with my hearing aids and worked with the manufacturer to honor and extend my warranty. Dwayne reprogrammed the devices and when I picked them up I noticed the difference immediately. I can hear better than I have in several years read more

I'll start by saying that I LOVE costco! This Costco is a bit dated and isn't as neat and bright as the ones that i'm used to. The front of the store looks cluttered and the rest of the store looks similar. Maybe it's a smaller space than usual or something but its layout and appearance make me think "get in and get out with those Costco products I love" not, grab a cart and browse until I fill it up with $10 items, that I didn't need, until it's over flowing. However, it's still Costco and how could you not love that?!? I wish there was more to add but that's about all I've got. read more

This is my second time choosing Costco optical for my prescribed glasses. I have to say that I love the exceptional customer service I receive every single time. About two years ago, I had eye discomfort and fatigue due to computer use. I did not know at the time that I could choose anti-reflecting coatings to prevent and improve my symptoms. A few weeks after placing my order and using my new glasses, my eyes felt much better that I couldn't believe it was happening. I felt like all the employees at the optical center strived to provide me with the best experience possible by asking the right questions, providing the right information and recommendations in comparison to other places I visited. I also felt special and very happy with my new glasses. My recent experience was amazing. I was helped by the same lovely young lady named Kailyn. When I approached the counter, she greeted me and recognized me from my previous visit. She walked me thru the different options and features for my new prescription, she was very professional, knowledgeable and was able to address all my concerns. Also, she was patient, and caring. I want to take the opportunity to thank Costco for providing great quality products, for an affordable price, and mainly for the outstanding customer service that their employees are committed to deliver to its members. I will NEVER shop at this Costco ever again. My husband handed our card to cashier and then I went to put the credit card in the machine to pay. The cashier said that whoever showed the card had to be the one to pay...um WHAT?!? She said they were under new management and that was the rule. Agree with Randy! I've been shopping at Price Club/Costco for 25+ years in Fairfax, Sterling, Leesburg, and now Winchester. Have never had a problem with store personnel. I've gotten to know some of them as a regular and they are all kind, patient people. A smile and good attitude goes a long way on both sides! Very pleased with most everything I've bought there. Costco is pretty great, but I do not recommend the tire center. Their employees could 't get the wheel nuts off. They were worried that they might break the bolts and then I would have to pay for towing to get it to a place to be fixed (which I would also have to pay for). The funny thing is, they were the ones that tighten them because they have been doing the tire rotations for about 2 years. No one else has touched those wheel nuts. They tried blaming it on a car inspection, but I pointed out that my inspection was performed over 7 months ago, while I had a tire rotation 4 months ago. They suggested, I take it to a trusted mechanic and come back. I decided to just go to a different tire place and get the job done right. They have been doing good work for the past two years, but the lack of accountability and empathy for something they caused was despicable. read more

I have twice gotten hearing aids at Costco and the aids are great and price is a real value. The audiologist Dan is a very fine technologist and on this my second pair helped me select a pai that was far above the clarity and brilliance of the previous pair. This pair by Rexton has better features such as connectivity to my iPhone directly for calls and music and is rechargeable to boot. read more

Costco, oh, Costco....why must you be so? I've never lived near a Costco until I moved to Winchester. I was always a Sam's Club kinda guy. Now, I'm a Costco member. We shop there so much we went with the business account and get a sizable check rebate check. My gripe isn't so much with Costco, but more with tire center, and specifically THIS Costco. Several months ago I was shopping for tires. Even when compared to mail order, Costco seemed to be the best buy. I bought a set for each car, and was impressed with the inclusion of road hazard, nitrogen, lifetime rotate and balance, etc. I recently tried to use the rotate and balance benefit. I had noticed in previous visits that there was an absence of front desk help and that this often caused a wait time and a backup of Members. Jimmy, one of the Tire Center workers said the best time was afternoons..after 2. I went to the Tire Center at 2 and left one of the cars to get a rotation and balance. I was told 1 3/4 to 2 hours, so I did a little shopping to add to the rebate check. 2 1/2 hours later, my car hadn't even been brought into the bay. Having scheduled other things, I had to leave without any service. I wasn't alone that day, as other Members were expressing dissatisfaction with delays in time, no notice of work complete, etc. My sense was that the Tire Center likes selling tires, but not servicing them after the sale. I spoke to management and they offered me the option of coming back another day and would try to do better. My thoughts - why should it take 2 trips to get something done right? The price was right, but the service after the sale just wasn't there. Next time I'll buy tires elsewhere. read more

I Was in Costco this afternoon and Costco allowed two younger people a guy and a girl who appeared to be in their early to mid 20's With no mask on, even after I reported it to two employee, I saw them a while later and they still had no mask on. I'm a Costco convert! I used to shop primarily at Trader Joe's, Fresh Market, Harris Teeter, Bloom - and when I moved to Winchester there was a Costco right here, and it just made sense that I'd join in on my husband's membership and try it out for day-to-day items. Not everything is a fantastic buy, but so MANY things are that it's way worth it! Stuff we love from here (that's a generally great deal): Mouthwash (I know, right? But the Kirkland brand mouthwash is just like Listerene except massively cheaper), paper towels, toilet paper, salt, baking powder, flour, Kirkland vanilla extract, Kirkland chocolate chips, Kirkland trail mix (with m&ms), Mac & Cheese (varying brands), fresh chicken (look for the loss leader packs that are super cheap), frozen chicken breast bags, frozen shrimp bags, rotisserie chicken, garlic, bananas... Well, you get the picture. As with anywhere, if you're budget-conscious you'll want to do price comparisons (produce and meats are often cheaper at Martin's), but if you know what to buy here or are feeding a passel o' people, this store is a must. The staff at this store is variable but mostly friendly, and since Costco treats their employees better than almost any other retail store, they're bound to be happier! In short: don't be afraid to try Kirkland brand anything, it's all high quality. The optometrist here is great, too, and if you're paying out of pocket for glasses, they're cheaper here than anywhere else. read more

Since it's just two of us, we don't have much reason to "stock up," so we buy carefully. Their $4.99 roasted chicken can't be beat, and is great for a quick meal, along with the Parisian salad that includes toppings and dressing. We got the tzatziki, which was the real deal...a "Greek" restaurant nearby serves up sour cream with flakes for flavoring, and they do much better to buy this product for their restaurant! Also, can't beat the price of their "round" of brie cheese. I picked up a 3-pack of clear storage bins for just under $20 and they were much better quality (locking lids, and thicker material) than what is available at other merchants nearby where you might look for them (discount stores). I got three sets for garage storage/organization. Regular gas was $3.319 when nearby it was $3.459, and in the Eastern Panhandle of WV it's now $3.659 everywhere. So it pays to fill up or top off if you are nearby. I don't get the hype and hysteria I feel generated by the other shoppers. People leave there with overloaded carts and large screen TVs, furniture, etc. Just go with a plan and you can do alright. Even still, I always feel I have spent much more than I had planned, and wonder if there are real savings over other retail outlets. BTW, their snack bar prices are great, and the food good quality. The pizza over the counter is better than what you get in the refrigerated foods dept. The hot-dogs are 1/4-lb Hebrew National Franks (all beef, of course)...They used to have them available for sale back in the refrig. meat dept, but no more :-( read more

That last lady needs to get a grip on reality. If someone tries to barrel past the membership checkers, they get stopped to make certain they are a member. You can bet that if people without memberships came in to shop around and interrupted her "weekly shop" would be the first one grousing . If you hate the store don't go to the store. You want to save money present your legitimate current membership card when asked. If your hands are full put the stuff on the ground and show them your membership card. If you don't have a membership card they will give you one temporarily upon proof of membership because they're very kind and generous to their members. I have never had a problem with them in anyway. They always courteous, well mannered and efficient. Maybe it's because I treat them with dignity. You should try it sometime. read more

EVERYTHING IS LESS THAN OTHER STORES. They sell everything from electronics to groceries. Lots of bundles with discounts. But depending on your carrier you can lose service in the warehouse. The aisles are wide and the store generally appears to be clean and organized. I would have to say that the staff is the primary reason for the rating. They aren't overly friendly and not helpful in general. I think that customer service here really could stand to be improved. This store could get to five stars. read more

Beware! If you have an issue with a company that Costco contracts with for services such as HVAC, if you have an issue, Costco will not help you get it resolved. I've tried for a month to deal with FH Furr, talking to multiple people and cannot get my issue resolved. After spending nearly an hour with a Costco "special services" representative, I was told to deal with the service provider directly. The Winchester, VA Costco Pharmacy is horrible and I believe dishonest too. I'm prescribed Adderall XR generic. There are many different companies that make the generic. Sometimes the generic works well, other times it definitely does not. For many months I had been taking the generic imprinted with G456 and it helped me considerably. Then I received a generic imprinted R 3061. It was barely better than a placebo. I suffer from severe depression and before generic Adderall, I tried many different medications for nearly a decade. None of them helped much. Generic Adderall changed my life from severely depressed and in bed most of the time, to a productive and outgoing person! My friends and family told me that I was finally back to my old self and to continue taking generic Adderall no matter what. When I visited my doctor, I told him about the generic (imprinted R 3061) that I had and that I was slipping back into depression. He said some generics don't work well for some people and that I should call pharmacies until I found one with a generic that worked for me. I called several pharmacies, but they all had the same generic that didn't help me much. They were all pleasant, except one, Costco Pharmacy. I called the Winchester, VA pharmacy, spoke with Tech (I believe it was Amy), explained my situation and asked what the current batch of their generic Adderall had imprinted on it. She asked me to hold. She finally came back and said they didn't have Adderall. I said you mean you don't have any in stock? Amy said no, we don't carry that drug. I replied you don't carry Adderall or even generic Adderall? She said no we don't. I asked again, you don't sell Adderall or generic Adderall? She said no. She was rude and curt. The only conclusion I could come to is that I was being treated like a drug fiend, searching for a fix. I contacted Costco Pharmacy mail order and spoke with Leah, a very kind pharmacist who took all my information and apologized for what happened. She said Costco pharmacies do carry generic Adderall and that she would inform the Warehouse Pharmacy Manager and the Regional Supervisor about what happened and I would receive some follow up. I called another pharmacy and the pharmacist was wonderful and they told me the imprint on their generic. It was one that works for me. I will continue using this pharmacy and would never use Costco pharmacy in Winchester, VA, ever! Hopefully, this review will help others in my situation to be treated with decency and respect by his pharmacy. It has been nine days with no follow up of any kind from Costco or Costco pharmacy. This is very uncharacteristic for the Winchester, VA Costco. The other departments have always provided top notch customer service and overall I love this Costco. read more
