There is lots to see, although not always priced to sell without a lot of consideration. However, in the short time that I was there, I did find a thing or two to keep the antique nut in me happy. On a less than positive note...SERVICE! My career is in the people business. And I expect no less from others, who are in the people business too. Customer service comes with a smile, a pleasant greeting and ZERO glaringly obvious suspicion that someone has come to do the CAM harm. Not everyone customer will look like you, but GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE is due EVERYONE that walks through your door!! I have had a lifetime of ignoring bad behavior, but calling it out when it distracts from what I enjoy, antiquing, I will. Do better! Because I LOVE ANTIQUES! And it upsets me to avoid a very nice establishment, because of bad behaviors. Again I say, DO BETTER!! I will be back. I found some cool cards and sheet music. And I want more.

I received them relatively quickly via UPS, but when they arrived the pants had clearly been tried on a number of times or worn and smelled distinctively like cigarette smoke. I emailed and then spoke to someone at the store and they said to get them dry cleaned. :( Not really great customer service. For online shopping - I suggest looking elsewhere if you can.

I shopped at the home furnishing side of the business and purchased some amazing candles from brands I was not familiar with from Europe. Tina help me with my selections and was really nice and knowledgeable. There are so many amazing things to look at and purchase. It's exciting to go into a boutique featuring inventory you haven't seen before and be helped by someone that knows so much about the craftsmanship and quality of the products. It's clear they really care about their customers. From the customer service to the packaging of your purchases to receiving a handwritten thank you note the mail! All first class. We were going through the process of clearing out our bookshelves and debated whether we should go…read morethrough the hassle of bringing them to one of the local chain bookstores (Half Price Books) or to the library for donation. I happened to find Banana Books' website and noticed that you can actually schedule them to come pick up books from your house. I picked an appointment slot online, and a few days before, someone contacted me and confirmed the number of books I had and the condition. I sent a few sample photos and we settled on a fair price (I would put this on par with what you would probably get from HPB). The day of our appointment, they texted me when a driver was 30 minutes away. He showed up on time, loaded up the books in his car (it was OK not to have them boxed up), and I received a Venmo after that was done. It was the easiest transaction ever, and I appreciated the prompt communication throughout the process. I've not been to the physical bookstore. Apparently they are based in Comfort, but they have a warehouse in Austin and an online store front, and they ship books all over. If you are moving or decluttering and are looking to get rid of your books, I would highly recommend this local business for a very stress-free option.

I was excited to return to this little antique mall; there was something had seen around two years ago and was eager to purchase. We make our way from around the courthouse all the way down main and start to head into the store. As we were walking up, a man gets out of a Chevy truck and tells our group (8 people) that they are closing at 5pm. It's 4:43pm so we got time right? We walk in the door and the woman manning the counter tell us we have 5 minutes. Maybe they sold a priceless relic earlier? I know they didn't win the billion dollar lottery! Me either!!!! They closed the downstairs so we couldn't shop; basically followed us around the store making sure we knew the clock was ticking. I finally spoke up addressing the rude behavior by the staffers to the owner/manager type person who got out of the truck. He exclaimed that he had been there since 7am and just wanted to go home. I quipped back if you don't want the business she shouldn't own a business. He told me to mind my own business; what a classy establishment. That item I mentioned above? It was still there! Did I buy it? NOPE. Next time I visit Bandera with a whole bunch of my friends I'll avoid this place like the plague. Horrible ownership and customer service.
