Spicy Spare Rib tacos.... slaw on the side
    Lorri D.

Was not really looking forward to this truck today, it sounded weird. But ended up being a decent experience! I looked on Yelp first to see what was most popular and talked with some people in line... decided on the spicy spare rib tacos. Great choice! Tacos are small (el carbon/street size) and I had the kimchi slaw on the side (I hate the word slaw so even if it's tasty... it's still called "slaw" and so I can't seem to get past that issue). I had 2 tacos, perfect for a nice lunch! Meat was super tasty and not too tough, tortillas seemed fresh and all-in-all very yummy!! I did put some of the kimchi sllll... stuff.... on my tacos, TERRIFIC!! One of the girls in the office tried the spare rib burrito and fell in love! Lots of options and things to try on this truck. My review is basically for the spare rib tacos. A delicious surprise and happy that I decided to try it out!! Reasonable prices, lots of selection.... truck was on the ground parking lot of my building and I work on one of the top floors, could smell the kimchi all the way up! haha!! Nice job Bool BBQ, great change of pace.

I was amazingly surprised on how good it was considering how hesitant I was to try a Kogi or Calbi "knock off." I thought it was better than some of the food trucks I've tried. I couldn't decide what to get so I got 3 different kinds of tacos - pork, beef and short rib. All bursted with flavor, juicy and drool worthy. I couldn't decide which I liked the best. The pork was the spiciest but it complemented the marinate well. I'm knocking out 1 star because some of the short rib was a little tough to eat. [TIP] Credit cards are accepted for purchases of $10+.

$11.00 Bibimbop Bowl. Good portion but tasteless.

This is solely based on the $11.00 bibimbap bowl I had here. For $11 there was a decent amount of rice, an egg, seaweed, beef, lettuce, carrot and bean sprouts in my box. Included was a red sauce that wasn't spicy. The beef was flavorless and the sauce was just there to add red coloring. But I still ate everything. I think the seaweed and carrots had the most flavor (I don't know what was on 'em). Maybe I should have gotten a taco like others did? But I won't be back.

SCORED! It's hard to find a food truck that I really like, especially when the food can be a little pricey. While in line at the broad, I was a little hungry. I told my friend to stay in line, while I checked out the food truck to see what they were offering. From the pictures, nothing really caught my eyes, except for the quesadilla. I decided to give it a try. The quesadilla had kobi beef and kimchi inside, which was a little spicy, especially when use the dipping sauce. Loved it! The tortilla was hot and crisp. Definitely of the top 3 quesadillas that I've ever had. If you have not tried this truck out, it's a definite must! Well, at least for the quesadilla. You won't regret it. The only problem is... you have to find them.

The tacos and burritos are somewhat tame, but the sauce makes a big difference -- like adding gin to plain tonic water. The pastel desserts make it worth the line, though! Sorta high prices, cash only -- but you already knew that. It doesn't seem all that KBBQ-ish for a KBBQ truck. They parked in front of my place so I felt kind of special and that I had an encounter with a celebrity, like this one time when I ran into Kevin Federline and I told him he sucked and he said "I'm sorry."

Oh Bool, I was a fool to not have tried you sooner! I promise that if our paths cross again that I'll definitely give you my business. I love that every item I tried from your truck was loaded with Kimchi. I'm a sucker for that stuff. Bool Korean BBQ Truck has been on my list of to try food trucks for a while. Bool specializes in Korean BBQ tacos, burritos, quesadillas and other Korean/South American fusion treats. For some reason, whenever I crossed their path I would skip them, promising myself to try them next time. I was a fool, because Bool is bomb. This is all I tried when I finally ate at Bool; Short Rib Burrito (White rice, short rib, kimchi and spicy chili paste) http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/huyXBU0k4j6OSSA4iR4IpQ?start=100#kv-3tekY4aFrFWcdxT1qLw Spicy Pork Kimchi Quesadilla http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/huyXBU0k4j6OSSA4iR4IpQ?start=100#f521tv1BdV7yiUXBrO8VBQ Pork Belly Taco (Pork belly, kimchi, cilantro, lettuce & spicy chili paste) http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/huyXBU0k4j6OSSA4iR4IpQ?start=100#V27X-uDnjHEirJkokT4ppg The burrito was by far the star. It was LOADED with short rib meat and kimchi. In fact, every bite contained lots of these yummy ingredients. The burrito also had the right amount of spiciness. Not too hot. Not too mild. Perfect. The Pork Belly taco was also really good. My only gripe was it needed more pork belly. The quesadilla was also loaded with kimchi and pork but for some reason, it was not spicy at all. Since it's called a "Spicy Quesadilla" I was hoping to break out in a slight sweat from eating it. Luckily for me the truck wasn't busy and they hooked me up with a side of their spicy chili paste. It did the trick. Prices are that same as all trucks and the service was fast and friendly. Check out Bool if you happen to come across them. Don't be a fool and pass them up like I did.

Bool is seriously my family from anotha flavah! Dan, Monica and Mama Mrs. Kim fill my tummy up with happiness and make me smile with all the love they put into their food and service which in turn I consume so it fills my soul. Such touching words for a food truck huh? Well, it's the truth! If I drive by and see the Bool truck (usually catch them on Sawtelle) whether I'm hungry or not I'm stopping. If I'm hungry I'm eating. If I'm not hungry, well I'm eating to. LOL. But team Bool is so Cool bc they Rool and there eats make me Drool I would seriously stop just to say HI. Today, they were out in the semi South Bay area (Costco Business Center in Hawthorne) so I had to go out and support to continue to show my love. Beef Pastels - HEAVENLY Delicious! Took one for Mom togo and she LOVED it! Thanks Dan (: Spicy Pork Taco - BEST one you can get from any of the food trucks out there. Take that CRAPogi oops I mean Kogi. Short Rib Taco - I always got the Pork Tacos but Dan one day said to try something new so Short Rib Taco it was and now I always get at least one! On one of our last visits Mrs. Kim surprised Amy B, Lucy Y and I a Kimchi Quesadilla to try and oooo it was Spicy Cheesy Yummyness! Lucy Y always gets their Short Rib burrito and if you don't take the first bite when she offers it well, you missed the bus. Quoting the most AWESOME AMY B. "If you don't like Bool, you are a Fool!" Give them a try!!! Or if you have already tried them and rated them less than 4 stars try them again! I guarantee you you will not be disappointed. I'm a Booler for life! Love you Bool!

Where the fu*k am I again!? I seriously lost track of all these gawdamn fusion tacos... Koolbogi!? fu*k it. I give up. I'm confusing myself. Here's a pic of their trio of tacos http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/huyXBU0k4j6OSSA4iR4IpQ?select=GRCQCwWywMzJi-XHvcqnWQ Chicken , beef and spicy pork.....Chicken and beef were standard, not bad, not great. The spicy pork was pretty damn good until I encountered this roadblock.... http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/huyXBU0k4j6OSSA4iR4IpQ?select=31CoeSXW_5LXXVeXM-sv5A It was like I bit into a pebble and hurt my damn tooth....yeah, those two little pieces of bone/cartilage on the right..... Yeah, I just ate around it and ended up sucking on the bones...cuz I was starving like that.... But seriously, if I wanted to partake in bone sucking I'd just go to west hollywood...or elton john's house.

Ciara G. once sent me a compliment which was actually a rhyme about Bool being cool and they rule. While I had no intention of stopping at any trucks for lunch today, that popped into my head when I spotted them on Wilshire Blvd and had to show Lucy Y's "family" some love. The service here is not only quick but amazing friendly. It's about as genuine as you'll find out there. I went with two short rib tacos, spicy, which really weren't that spicy at all (a good thing for me!) and loved them. I wish I wasn't eating them while driving away as I would have ordered another. That good!

Best-Late-Night-Taco-Even-If-You-ate-2-dinners ! Let me tell you... I had Japanese Happy Hour including a pitcher of beer to myself, delicious boba, and full on dinner at another Japanese restaurant... and after all that I had these tacos! And even though I was stuffed -- I ate this taco. IT WAS SOOoOOOO GOOooOD! =) Come find this taco truck -- it's one of the best and beats PF Changs Korean Tacos any day!

    Frequent Buyer Card!

I can't even begin to explain how amazing my church (YNCC) is... But somehow, YNCC has outdone itself! Last Sunday was YNCC's 20th anniversary, and who did they hire to cater? None other than Bool! After our special service, there were 3 Bool trucks waiting for us! I had never even heard of Bool... I've heard many things about Kogi tacos, both good and bad, but I still haven't had a chance to try them myself. So, I can't compare Bool's tacos to any other Korean BBQ tacos. But I LOVE KBBQ, so here I go... Our church is huge, and there were hundreds of people who attended our church last Sunday. However, I knew I HAD to try these tacos, and it didn't hurt that they were "free" - on YNCC's tab... Thank God! Literally... =) Anyway, I waited in line - for about 40 minutes out in the blistering heat - to get some tacos... Beef (galbi) taco: OMG! I guess I may have been starving by the time I finally got my tacos, but the beef taco was amazing! There was a good amount of warm galbi meat, cabbage kimchi, onions, cilantro, and hot sauce in the taco. (I picked out all of the onions and cilantro, but it was STILL delicious!) Spicy and very satisfying! No wonder it's called "Bool," which means "fire" in Korean. =) Chicken taco: Also very good, and the chicken was marinated very well. However, it was not as good as the beef taco. I'm a small girl, but I needed to eat 4 tacos to get full. So if you eat a lot, you can probably eat 6+ tacos because they're pretty small. I am now a fan of Bool on Facebook (they're also on Twitter, but I refuse to "tweet"), and hopefully they'll come around the USC area soon. 4 1/2-stars for Bool - I would have deducted 1/2 star because it's a little pricey ($1.99/taco), but I had to round it up because the tacos were just THAT good! I no longer have any interest in trying Kogi tacos... If you haven't tried Korean BBQ tacos yet, I highly recommend you track down a Bool taco truck! P.S. They have a frequent buyer card - buy 8 tacos and get the 9th free! I *heart* frequent buyer cards. =)

    "cheese steak"
    Eli G.

    Q. How do you spell disappointment? A. B-O-O-L Q. How do you ruin a cheese steak? A. You add a very small portion of chewy, vaguely Korean flavored meat to a large soft roll, top it with some bland cheese and lettuce, and charge $7 for it. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/huyXBU0k4j6OSSA4iR4IpQ?select=iaNMRnO9HXSBJfkaqT9fRw I loved the idea of a Korean inspired cheesesteak, but the whole experience really bummed me out.

bool truck in front of westside media ctr
    Jenny B.

This review is just for the Pork burrito I ordered for lunch. I'm giving this truck a second chance as I apparently not liking Kimchee as much as I thought I was. Went to Media Center in Olympic to grab this lunch, parked my car, put ka-ching in the meter for 20mins, secretly hoping it won't take long and went to the truck, placed an order for Pork burrito. Within like 6mins or so, my order was ready for me to pick-up and headed back to the office. Alas, the kimchi taste wasn't equally distributed, so my first bite I didn't feel the hotness and toward the middle of the burrito, I suddenly felt the burnt of spicy and sourness from the Kimchi. The burrito was not bad had it not been filled with Kimchi, I think pork, rice, some cutout tomato salsa and kimchi don't go together very well. However, I'm still giving this truck a second chance due to the variety in the menu. I want to try their brazilian pastel, hopefully it would lift my hopes up again.

I didn't get there until 1:50, and just as I park and start walking toward the truck, it pulls out and I watch my planned pancake disappear. But hey, when life hands me lemons, most of the time I can make lemonade. Instead of heading back to the car, I decide to see what other food trucks are there (there's still a half dozen left.) I've had too many mediocre food truck meals, so now I usually only hit those that score a 4-5 on the Yelp-o-meter. So nothing catches my eye until I see "Get Toasted." It's got a line bigger than the others, but I'm not pure sheep, so I Yelp it and it scores solidly. I get in line, study the menu, and am pleasantly surprised by the prices. I decide to go for the three salbutes (mini tostada-like things) and drink special, and get the day's special salbute on the side. The staff on the truck were super-friendly and polite. They earned one star for great service before I even got the food. WHAT I HAD: Trio of salbutes (I chose carnitas, short rib and pork belly) Small peach vanilla iced tea Extra salbute (spicy crab, their daily special) MOST FAVORITE TO LEAST FAVORITE: (but to be honest, I'd eat all of them again except maybe the short rib) Carnitas - DE-FREAKIN-LICIOUS. Moist and juicy and lots of flavor. Pickled onions and cilantro were perfect complement. Pork Belly - Crispy and fatty and lots of flavor. Spicy Crab - yummy -- and loads of crab -- but not really spicy. Would have been a clear fav for me if the flavor was punched up just a little more. Either more spice or a citrus kick would've made this my #1 instead of my #3. Short Rib - a tiny bit dry and not quite enough flavor. The only other two notes I'd give: 1) Take some of the stems off the cilantro before chopping it. I love cilantro, but the stems can get bitter when there's a lot of them. I ended up fishing some of them out and enjoyed it a lot more. 2) The peach vanilla iced tea (which was a sweetened black tea, I believe) was really good, but too sweet for my taste. It was in the ballpark of most bottled commercial iced teas (Snapple, Nestea) which is a little sweeter than I like. But that's me. Others no doubt will love it as it is. FINAL VERDICT: I thought it was an excellent (and a very good value) meal for $10 flat. I would definitely go again. A few tweaks and I'd give it 5 stars.
