A Great time was had! I love supporting black owned businesses. Great decor and our names were on the black board when we came in. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Please make sure you are on time as the class starts promptly. A few places for photo ops but this is an intense workout. I would say intermediate to advance.

I've been meaning to try this place for quite some time and glad I was able to stop in today! It's a new studio in this area and you can tell a lot of detail was put into the studio design and operations. I love how the BOOMBOX theme is carried throughout the facility. They offer towels and those cool lockers that don't require a physical lock but lets you put in a 4 digit code to lock your things during class (like the ones at the fancy Orange Theory gyms) The class itself was great! Incorporated boxing techniques, some strength training, a bit of cardio and a core workout. It was a great way to start my Friday as I'm trying to incorporate different activities into my workout routines. Please Note: there are no onsite showers so plan accordingly. Not enough to take it down a star for me because I was planning to go back home anyway, but something to keep in mind. Overall: great experience! Great workout! excited to see this organization continue to grow and expand.

I wanted to write an updated review after completing 15 classes: 9 classes with Jefe - best and clearest instruction, encouraging and each class has been different 4 classes with David - high energy, fast-paced, fun 1 class with AJ - it was a small group class focused on strength training, less boxing than normal classes 1 class with Lauren - discouraging, judgmental, aggressive, expect to feel like an absolute failure Lately, classes with Jefe have had a waitlist and then the waitlist is full so definitely book in advance! He gives the clearest instruction and demos each move/combo. I also love the variety of music he plays to keep it upbeat and dynamic. You can easily burn 300-500 calories per class without it ever feeling like it. After taking classes consistently I've noticed a huge difference in my stamina, reflexes and overall conditioning. If you're looking for a workout that encompasses boxing, strength and core training into a 45-50 min class, this is 100% for you!

Currently laying on the couch recovering from myy amazing workout this morning with Angela! What. A. Workout! The studio is high energy from the moment you walk in the door throughout the entire class! The front desk staff got me checked in quickly and I hung out in the lobby until class started. It's clean and cute, with a boxing ring right out front, lockers, and 2 bathrooms. The class itself was a mix of boxing and HIIT! About 6 different boxing techniques were incorporated into the class, paired with lunges, squats, ab work, etc. It was really fun and a good combination of activities. Definitely give this studio a try. Easy to book online and purchase classes. Clean studio. Fun staff. Guaranteed good workout!

Really awesome boxing experience! Amazing instructors, high energy, great music (they really put the boom in boxing lol) and very affordable class options. Boombox has a lot of special discounts, special events and giveaways as well. I also really appreciate the community of folks that attend regularly. Only downsides are the parking, especially during events at the National Stadium, there's no shower and there aren't a lot of daytime class options during the week (which Id prefer since so work from home).

What. A. WORKOUT!! From the music to the instructors I've have a blast every time I step into the room. Each class starts with a quick lesson on the boxing stance and the various punches/defensive moves. It's not just about hitting the bag though. After a few "rounds" there is a breakout for core, strength, cardio, or a combo of the three. I love ending the 50min class with the Championship round, because I definitely feel like I won something just surviving class. Lol Lockers are available and two bathrooms. Wraps available for purchase and gloves you can rent. I eventually got my own gloves to bring with. Check it out!!

There's also a full ring outside of the classroom obviously to practice but we just took fun pictures- which is ok too!!

This is the workout you didn't know you needed! I've taken two classes now and will definitely be a regular. Classes are 50 minutes, in a dimly lit room with neon mirrors all around. The bags are water filled and the instructors stage is in the front. They are miced up and whatever sequence you're doing is projected up front also. You have to buy wraps and can rent or bring your own gloves. Regardless of which instructor is teaching, you'll get a mixed and intense stregnth, cardio and endurance workout with AMAZING beats the whole time. Kettle bells and resistance bands are woven in also. You don't have to know anything about boxing- I certainly don't- and you'll have fun while burning calories. Parking is tricky so show up early to give yourself time or take the metro, it's a 3-5 minute walk from Navy Yard station. I came for a bachelorette party and a morning workout so far. It's hip, modern, clean and full of warm, down to earth, authentic vibes. The owners, staff and instructors are super talented and professional. $30 for a class is worth it as you'll feel like you're part of a great community. As the navy yard continues to grow, I'm glad this is an anchoring business. PS: book Angela's class! It's the best!

Words cannot express how much I enjoy BOOMBOX. It is conveniently located near the Navy Yard metro. Finding parking is a little challenging but I can usually find a spot for the morning classes. The club is spacious and clean. The actual fitness room is a decent size as well. I usually choose bag #9 because it's close to the instructor podium (I like to see). I appreciate how each instructor describes the boxing positions before class. It's a great reminder. I've only been to three instructors. I enjoyed Angela and Reggie's classes. You can tell they're boxers and are great with hands on assistance. The music sounds like it's coming from a BOOMBOX. The sound system is awesome. Recommend purchasing a class pack. If you haven't boxed, it may take a class or two to get the hang of the flow of class.

Did a workout here with my girls and we loved it! Took a class with Angela. Music was beyond dope and her energy was on 10. Definitely kept me engaged even when I was getting tired. The workout kicked my tail, but it felt SO good. Felt like a great full body workout that was more than just boxing. I am looking forward to coming back!

Absolutely love Boombox Boxing Club. I'm always looking for a new fitness challenge and the workout at BoomBox has exceeded my expectations. I have taken a few classes with Imani and I have enjoyed each one. The workout is challenging, the trainer is both fundamentally sound (when it comes to boxing technique) and definitely knows how to get the heart rate up during cardio rounds. And just when you think you can't possibly do one more combo or burpee (with a push up), Imani is right there at your bag to hype you up and get you through!! The music... #fightclubmeetsnighclub BoomBox will continue to be an integral part of my fitness journey.

27 classes down and no sign of stopping. I've been going to Boombox Boxing since November! I've bounced around studio workouts for years (OTF, Barre3, cycling, etc.) and could never stick to a workout because i'd get bored and feel stagnant. Boombox is an awesome cardio/strength workout. The coaches explain steps at the beginning of each class and provide clear instructions. Each coach has different styles of how they teach class and all are incredibly friendly and welcoming! I did two class packs and have since upgraded to their 8/month membership which works for me. I do hope the add more classes as their clientele grows!

Class didn't feel too big and we had enough space to do our partner work and hit the bags without hitting each other. The instructor did some individual work but it was limited to 30 seconds or less give. There were 15-20 people in the class. He was available when I had questions about what the combo we were practicing was (if I didn't get it the first two times) and made several corrections to my form along the way. All levels class was good for beginners and definitely a moderate to high intensity workout (depending on how hard you go).
