They also tend to have a lot of stuff on sale or clearance (look for the dark red price tags). One thing I like a lot about this store is the flags for all branches of the military hanging from the ceiling (see my photo). I needed a part on a Saturday and they had it in the next day. Great service, and to get something on a Sunday that you ordered the previous afternoon is terrific. If you like a large chain auto store, and you are in the area, you will do well here.

We're relatively new in the area and Josh welcomed us and made us feel right at home. On our way back to the car, my wife pointed out that we were walking right past this Advance Auto Parts. Knowing me, I often need to buy something for my 20-year-old car, whether it be oil, a bulb, or windshield washer fluid. On this particular visit, I needed some of the latter. As soon as we entered the store, Josh asked us what we were looking for. I told him, he pointed us in the right direction, and then he told us a lot about the windshield washer fluids they had in stock and gave us honest advice. They carried a few different types of Rain-X plus a cheaper brand. Josh said most customers go with the cheap stuff, that all the brands/types of washer fluid were essentially the same, and to pick our favorite color. There was blue, green, orange, and purple. I've been purchasing Rain-X brand products for the last two decades so I went with the more expensive orange Rain-X 2-in-1 (de-icer and bug remover) which I've used before. One gallon cost $5.90 after tax. The store was set up to follow COVID-19 safety protocols. The counters were roped off to promote separation between employees and customers. The counters also had plexiglass barriers installed. Josh wore a mask when interacting with us. After checking out, Josh noticed my wife carrying two boxes of leftovers from our meal at Luna. He offered her a bag. That was nice of him. The bags were Carquest bags (Advance Auto Parts owns Carquest). Knowing we were new to the area, Josh offered up advice/recommendations for the area if we wanted. Also nice of him. I noticed this Advance Auto Parts store is smaller than other Advance Auto Parts stores I've been in. The store number is 1054. Parking can be hard to come by in this part of town. Today I needed to replace the battery in my Subaru Outback. I had purchased the battery from the…read moreAdvance store in Carrboro, so I returned there to confirm that it was still under warranty. Indeed, it was under warranty so the staff began the process of replacing it. Joshua is the employee who helped me. He didn't know what he was getting into. :-) He tested the old battery, confirming that it needed replacing. He took out the old battery and put in a replacement. He then went through the process of testing the starter, alternator and new battery ... and determined that the NEW battery was defective. (He said that in his 14 years that had happened only one other time.) Joshua then got another battery, put it in and ran the tests again to determine that all was good. But he noted that the cable terminal attaching to the battery's positive anode couldn't be fully tightened, setting off a good 40 minutes of work to replace the cable terminal. I could not have been more satisfied with the service Joshua gave me. He told me he has worked at Advance for 14 years. I see other comments here that attest to the friendly, expert help the staff at Advance in Carrboro regularly provide. I can confirm it is true!

Upon arrival at 725p, he greeted me warmly and proceeded to provide friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient customer service. Store was clean with 1 other customer. Grant never complained about arrival time, 30 min before closing. He also honored his word with the discount, which brought the cost down to $156 with tax. Despite the light drizzle, Grant skillfully made quick work of the install. Out with the old, in with the new. Only thing better than the hospitality and service is the 3yr no hassle warranty for any AA nationwide; also includes prorated replacement during the 4th and 5th years of ownership!

O'Reilly messed up a couple things but they fixed it. Anyway-Freddy is a Godsend. Fixed us right up. So then had to take back the brake pads that were wrong and a core charge for the Caliper. Freddy had already gone but Reggie was there and he was just as helpful and nice. Something wasn't Coming up right in the computer with the receipt. Come to find out-we had 2 accounts but we couldn't figure it out. So-Reggie calls Freddy and comes back up there!!!!! He was already off work and this is on a Sunday-Reggie asked for help and he came back. I couldn't believe it. And it was so busy....line was about 6 deep. So the end to the story was-the printer had gotten jammed and we didn't have the entire receipt. But they fixed it-just as nice and as quick as they could. I have been to lots and lots of part stores many many times-but this was the greatest experience I've ever had. The store was fairly clean and organized. There were two staff working. My wait to check out was short and I have no complaints. My issue came with the price of the item. I got Techron complete fuel system cleaner. When it rang up, the price was $18.79 pre tax and $20.06 post tax. I was about to pay but then I stopped because that wasn't the price I saw, which was like $10. So I go look at the shelf and see that it's $10.79. I tell the cashier and she comes over. She points out that $10.79 was for the "smaller bottle". At a glance, they all look the same size! There were 7 bottles across 4 shelves. The top two shelves said $10.79 and the bottom said $16.59. At a glance, all of the bottles look the same size. There was ONE bottle that was smaller than the rest. To add to the confusion, the tag/label doesn't include the size.... To make matters worse, when I pointed out the difference in price ($16.59 vs $18.79), I was told the label wasn't even the right price and that it needed to be changed -__- Needless to say, paid the $20.06. While the staff person was polite and apologized, the store needs to be sure the right prices are labeled and things are in the correct spot to prevent confusions and issues as suck.
