But it has a completely different layout, is smaller, and sells a different inventory. The building was built in 1909 by R.L. Lowe, a competing merchant. John and Faye Cooper preserved this location, officially opening it in 1982 because they needed more space for their growing business. The building has a much more open layout than the Original store and even sells ice cream outside! The Annex features a massive candy barrel room with hundreds of varieties of candies, from saltwater taffy to chocolates to old-fashioned hard candies. This location also carries more of the rugged outdoor wear, camping supplies, backpacking gear, and sleeping bags Because the two buildings feature completely separate inventory layouts, I didn't end up buying anything here. My arms were completely full with items at the original store, so I didn't go back for the rest of the stuff I wanted and just planned to get it at the other store instead. Once I got to the Annex and realized they didn't carry the same items, I almost drove back to the original store to get them, but ultimately didn't. Make sure to buy everything you want at whichever building you are at before leaving their parking lot!

The products here have always been of good quality and there's always a great selection. This store brand has always been a sort of a novelty in my opinion although the description is "general store" all but one location I have visited is very upscale and resembles more of a general merchandise retailer offering lots of clothing and outdoor supplies verses what the original intent was at its inception. A couple of try ons (as my shoe size in Keens can be 11 or 11 1/2) and I was ready to go; however, my wife who initially did not look the look of the bubble toe on the Keens (for women or men) was finally talked into trying a pair of Keens on and walking around in the shop. Comfort for her, and thus a pair of Keens for her and, of course, one for me. My last Keens were bought here about 6 years ago, are still quite comfortable and not showing wear, but sometimes you just have to spend a dollar or two and get more comfort, right? Yep.

If you plan to buy clothes here they are a little expensive but the board and ski rental prices are very competitive. They also have a convenient drop box outside so we were able to enjoy the full 3 days we rented and deposited the boards in the drop box after they were closed. Which is nice because you don't have to rush a boarding session to return the boards on time. Over all great place, made our vacation easy and simple and I would definitely recommend. Although we have not been to the other shops near by so take it with a grain of salt but "First track" is a great option in my opinion.

We put in requests at the ski resort and a few shops by the slopes to keep an eye out. As expected, we had to pay the fee for the "lost skis" but we're assured if they were turned in we would get a refund. My husband followed up after a week and the skis were not turned in. Several weeks later he got a call that they were located and a refund would be issued within the next 3-4 hours. And it was!! We learned to use Lockard after this experience. But we are so thankful the staff were honest and followed up with us as promised. Highly recommend this company for rental needs.

Talked to me like I was a person and not a sale. He was kind, informed, and honest. Since we were visiting and needed some masks for the snow, we dropped by and he helped us through the whole process. I wish I could have gotten his name. The store is clean and organized. 12/10 would recommend. Prices were decent and helped me get the cheapest/best for my value. Def make a a stop here. Great shop and great employees.
