We ate at a cute 100% vegan cafe called @tuba_cafe_ right in the heart of downtown Squamish, offering lots of smoothie flavors, coffees, a few sandwiches and four different kinds of vegan desserts! When entering the restaurant, you can actually enter from their front or back doors. We decided to split a "Kado Sandwich" (panini) - consisting of zucchini, mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, spice, parsley, tomato paste, and cheese. If you're wondering if the panini tastes as good as it looks, it absolutely does .. and, even better when paired with their provided dipping sauce! I decided to grab a smoothie, simply and aptly named "Brown" .. espresso, mango, banana, walnut, protein powder, and almond butter ... a lot of varied ingredients that really complemented one another in the final product. Last but certainly not least, we both ordered a different dessert. My wife ordered the "Tiramisu", consisting of cream cheese, almond butter, biscuit, and maple syrup and I ordered the "Cheesecake", consisting of date, walnut, cream cheese, maple syrup, and almond butter. While both desserts shared some similar ingredients, each had their own distinct flavor and was a perfect touch to our shared sandwich and smoothie. Whether you're driving through Squamish or staying for a bit, if you're looking for fast service, delicious food with simple ingredients, right in the heart of downtown, you should definitely check them out!

I felt a little mislead considering in the photos online the smoothies looked to have normal thickness. The taste was what was expected, like a chocolate peanut butter shake without too much sweetener. My friend enjoyed his but I began to feel a little cheated as $10 for a normal smoothie is decent, but $10 for what we got seemed a little unfair. I truly don't enjoy giving local places a more negative review, but these are just the facts of our experience. (Think more cornbread texture than pizza crust.). Again, not a fatal flaw. You won't be disappointed. Isaac is the general manager and is the nicest person. He explained how the chef was the former chef at the Westin in Whistler and how the restaurant came to be. A must stop on the way to Whistler and with the trip from Vancouver. A true gem! Parking is allowed in the lot behind the restaurant. Don't be intimidated by the signs. It's part of the approved parking complex.

We were also asked if we wanted maple syrup with the pancakes, but I ended up not needing to add any because the jam and cream were enough. Maple syrup is $2 for a small cup so I would recommend skipping it unless you really want something sweeter. The jam and cream are just modestly sweet which was perfect for me. The blueberry smoothie bowl was also delicious and came with lots of toppings - their granola had a delightful texture. It was a bit of a wait for food, so ordering the breakfast plates is probably not the best option if you're in a hurry, but they have ready-to-eat stuff available if you do want something quick, and the drinks didn't take long. I tried the three day cleanse which arrived fresh two days after ordering. I'm not new to juice cleanse, so I'm familiar with the not tasty taste of some veggie juice, but for these juices, all were delicious, primarily sweet; only "The green" juice is not sweet. All were palatable, and I like that each juice comes with more than five ingredients. The three-day cleanse has 21 juices, so seven juice per day, which to me, I can only consume five juice as I felt so full already and since most were sweet, I already felt energized with it. Overall I had them for four days with snacks on the first day. So far, I did not feel hungry or weak during the cleanse; I just craved something salty. Overall, the juice truck cleanse is delicious, fresh and healthy. For the price, $195 for three-day cleanse, it's like $9.30 per juice; it's just right with the variety of juice you get with more than five combinations of ingredients on each juice.
