Even in the winter, I still want a protein smoothie! I am so glad the village has a place that…read moreoffers vegan protein smoothies. We got two of the popular smoothies, bluebird, and the PB&J + added vegan protein and creatine was very happy with what we got. They also have vegan fruit ice creams! Service was very friendly. They do get busy, but the weight wasn't too long.

We both got the nuts and bolts for about $10 each, I thought the price was decent considering the cup size. We had arrived a little less then an hour before close, the man who served us seemed a little upset. I'm unsure whether this was because we came closer to the end of the day, or if it had been a hard work day for him. Either way he unfortunately came off a little rude in our interaction. We were even questioned why we decided to pay separately, maybe he assumed we were dating? Nuts and Bolts: I was very surprised that the smoothie lacked any thickness, and was closer in consistency to a regular drink. I felt a little mislead considering in the photos online the smoothies looked to have normal thickness. The taste was what was expected, like a chocolate peanut butter shake without too much sweetener. My friend enjoyed his but I began to feel a little cheated as $10 for a normal smoothie is decent, but $10 for what we got seemed a little unfair. I truly don't enjoy giving local places a more negative review, but these are just the facts of our experience. I hope this was just a one off experience and we can have a more enjoyable time if we come back.

There wasn't much of a crowd, and there was plenty of seating available both indoors and outdoors. The service was quick, and everyone was friendly. We ordered eggs, coffee, a breakfast platter, and a peanut butter pastry. The eggs were well made, and the food overall was good. While it wasn't quite a 5/5 for me, it was definitely enjoyable, especially considering the limited breakfast options in the area. The café has a very cute small-town vibe, which adds a lot to the experience and makes it a nice place to relax and enjoy a meal. I also have to give them extra credit for something that meant a lot to me personally. I had accidentally lost my bag during our trip near this cafe, and some kind strangers turned it in to the café. The staff kept it safe until we came back looking for it. I was incredibly relieved and grateful. This act of honesty and kindness is something I will always remember, and it definitely earns this place a few extra points in my book. Overall, I would definitely go back again for the friendly service, cozy atmosphere, great location, and the kindness that helped turn a stressful situation into a happy ending.

They were out of a few things - no more oatmeal and only one serving of matcha left when we all wanted matcha, but the alternatives that we went with were still appealing, so it wasn't a big deal. The one matcha went to my mom, and it seemed like she got the scraps of it because it looked and tasted pretty watery. I got a chai latte which was pretty good but a little grainy. The food on the other hand was really good. I got the buckwheat pancakes and tried some of the smoothie bowl. The pancakes were hearty and fluffy, topped with a delicious berry chia jam and cashew cream. The plate came with 3 small-ish pancakes which was a satisfying portion that wasn't too much. We were also asked if we wanted maple syrup with the pancakes, but I ended up not needing to add any because the jam and cream were enough. Maple syrup is $2 for a small cup so I would recommend skipping it unless you really want something sweeter. The jam and cream are just modestly sweet which was perfect for me. The blueberry smoothie bowl was also delicious and came with lots of toppings - their granola had a delightful texture. It was a bit of a wait for food, so ordering the breakfast plates is probably not the best option if you're in a hurry, but they have ready-to-eat stuff available if you do want something quick, and the drinks didn't take long. I would be interested in coming back to try more of the food menu if I were in Whistler again.

The folks working there were just as nice as can be and directed us to the stew, which was my favorite we also ordered the rise N shine wrap which was also good. Their Matcha latte was one of the best I've ever had. A small cozy space inside. I only wish we had tried their baked goods selections. Next time!
