We were even questioned why we decided to pay separately, maybe he assumed we were dating? Nuts and Bolts: I was very surprised that the smoothie lacked any thickness, and was closer in consistency to a regular drink. I felt a little mislead considering in the photos online the smoothies looked to have normal thickness. The taste was what was expected, like a chocolate peanut butter shake without too much sweetener. My friend enjoyed his but I began to feel a little cheated as $10 for a normal smoothie is decent, but $10 for what we got seemed a little unfair. I truly don't enjoy giving local places a more negative review, but these are just the facts of our experience. I also have to give them extra credit for something that meant a lot to me personally. I had accidentally lost my bag during our trip near this cafe, and some kind strangers turned it in to the café. This act of honesty and kindness is something I will always remember, and it definitely earns this place a few extra points in my book. The pancakes were hearty and fluffy, topped with a delicious berry chia jam and cashew cream. The plate came with 3 small-ish pancakes which was a satisfying portion that wasn't too much. We were also asked if we wanted maple syrup with the pancakes, but I ended up not needing to add any because the jam and cream were enough. Maple syrup is $2 for a small cup so I would recommend skipping it unless you really want something sweeter. The jam and cream are just modestly sweet which was perfect for me. The blueberry smoothie bowl was also delicious and came with lots of toppings - their granola had a delightful texture. It was a bit of a wait for food, so ordering the breakfast plates is probably not the best option if you're in a hurry, but they have ready-to-eat stuff available if you do want something quick, and the drinks didn't take long.
