We booked a move with Booth for late April, two weeks before the move, during prime moving season. A person answered when I called, took down my info, and I got a follow up call to schedule an estimate later that day. From the moment we called to the day the movers unloaded the last item from their truck, everything just went so smoothly. The movers who helped us that day were Harvey, Josbin and Jorge. They were friendly, helpful, and super efficient. From start to finish, they were courteous, professional, and overall, just nice guys. don't use these movers!! their crew rifled through my drrsser & wardrobe boxes stealing most of my high end designer clothing during move!! they refuse to accept responsibly or confirm the theft by denying me from watching their camera footage to prove i was robbed of $200k worth of collectible designer and i amassed over a career in the luxury fashion industry. further proof, i overheard a customer call that a woman was missing her bbq from a recent movie, and the coarse response from the crew lead was to finish unpacking..but no one packs a bbq. these people are dishonest corrupt thieves!! and atop everything else, they over billed me and refuses to refund me. their loss claim process is a joke.. their insurance agent isn't responding to my inquiries about my reimbursement for my precious belongings. avoid this business..they are beyond crooked, greedy, corrupt company read more

We moved over a year ago, and after 15 emails to Doug, have not gotten any resolution to the problem. Booth Movers displayed a total lack of communication, professionalism and safety. We moved during the pre-vaccine height of the pandemic. Booth sent us their COVID-19 protocol but did not follow it We repeatedly had to ask movers to put masks on during the stressful move. Booth lost our mattress then came back with two small, dirty mattresses and asked us which was ours. We said neither and they tried to convince us that we were wrong and one was our mattress. After we slept on the couch the night of our move, they delivered our nearly new mattress which was now dirty and stained. Although they misplaced shelves from a cabinet (similar to the mattress) they told us to look harder as if it were our fault. The shelves were delivered a few days later without an apology. Booth lost the key to our storage unit whose contents they were to deliver. They dropped and threw boxes of our belongings such that the plastic containers broke and their contents spilled across the driveway. Booth delivered a move that was neither safe nor competent. I recently used Booth Movers to help me move from Midtown NYC to Northern NJ. POSITIVES: George (who came out to my apartment and put together a quote) was fantastic. He was kind, timely, and thorough. His quote ended up being eerily accurate as well, which was something I appreciated. Christine was also great - she answered all of my questions and was genuinely pleasant. As far as the actual moving process, my movers were also kind and pleasant. NEGATIVES: personally, I felt that the movers took a long time to load things in the truck. I will note that my service elevator was frequently used that day, and I DID have a lot of stuff, but I was told by my porter that the movers were just hanging by the truck after each load. Regardless, that's understandable and fine if breaks were needed. What I felt more concerned about was that the movers left the truck door hanging open (yes, with all my stuff in it) while they were upstairs. I was told by George initially that one person would always be in the car to make sure my things were safe. Sadly, this wasn't the case. The last negative is that unfortunately, my movers left an entire closet full of clothes behind. When I got home after my move completed, I was shocked to discover that my clothes were still hanging there. So, after spending additional $$ to rent a car and move my clothes/hangers to NJ today, I'm a little irritated. Not sure if I'd use them again. read more

They lost skis, shower gifts/wedding gifts, etc. and the manager/owner told me that I should be thankful what was lost was not a heirloom and the items were at least replaceable. AND I was not reimbursed AND they never went back through their records and contacted the other movers that were packed in with ours to see if they got our items...what kind of company does that??? From the very first email requesting a quote, to the delivery guys unloading in my new apartment, the entire process was an A+. Being this was my first long distance/interstate move (NJ to SC), I had a million questions and concerns. They were informative and helpful every step of the way. Pricing was reasonable. The two guys arrived on time to pick up my stuff and from the moment they pulled into my parking lot, and left, was a total of two hours. Delivery down to SC only took three days (granted I moved end of January which is the slower season, but still!) Unloading took a little over an hour. They have it down to a science, they are so organized. Nothing was broken or missing upon delivery. I am a happy customer and would highly recommend Booth! read more

THIEVES: This started poorly and ended poorly. I chose this company based off the good reviews and was sorely disappointed. I spoke with George and told him a day I wanted to move, after confirming with him weeks before he said it was all booked a few days prior to my move so I had tor reschedule my flight a day earlier. Three men showed up who were supposed to have more than enough boxes, at the end they were too few and I had to go to home depot to pick up three more. The guy packing the glassware on the stove leaned against the pilot light and started a small fire which he put out in my sink and left for me to clean up. No damage to the apartment but still, thanks for leaving burnt packing paper in my sink..... I sent a few emails about the status of my shipment and was promised updates that I didn't receive until my wife had to personally call from a different number. Some of my items that they helped pack at the end of the day were my TV, PlayStation, Wii among other items. They also packed a bag containing my sunglasses, watches, and pocket knives........ This was February 24th, my belongings arrived yesterday March 11 (A long wait). Most of the bags have been opened as they were savvy enough to leave all bags I had stored in boxes unzipped and opened. The PlayStation was removed from its original packing, the associated games are missing from the PlayStation and Wii as well as my watches, and knives. They left plugs in the TV that are now broken inside that will have to be replaced. They broke my wife's jewelry nightstand and her portable steamer. We are missing a shelf to our bookcase. I have yet to go through everything else so I am sure the list will grow. I am filing claims with the company as well as the BBB and will see how this is handled and follow up. TLDR: They stole and broke my belongings and it took a long time. It probably takes a while to go through all your bags to find what they want. read more

We have moved 5 times in the last seven years. Most were long distance, with some of the biggest and best known movers in the US. We thought we had some of the best service before giving Booth a try. BOY, we were we wrong! Had a walk through to determine pricing, etc. The agent was amazing and really worked with us to keep us calm, focused and reassured that Booth was the right choice for our move. Got a confirmation call 3 days prior to our move that everything was set. Day of the move, the movers got there right on time. Two trucks. Six guys with Tommy at the helm. The move out went so quickly and flawlessly that it was as though they hooked up a huge vacuum to the back and front doors and just sucked everything out. We had a TON of stuff and it was wrapped and packed into the trucks in three hours flat. Move in was not going to be an easy job and we fully expected that we may have to lose some of our large pieces of furniture because the house was old and really small and not built for large dressers, beds, etc. But before we knew it, the dresser was hand (no straps) hoisted up to the second floor and through a window to the upstairs bedroom where it now resides. Not a scratch. Windows and doors all reinstalled perfectly. As a matter of fact, not a scratch on anything! Nothing broken and out fine art pieces were perfectly crated and moved with the utmost care. Once the move was complete, Tommy noticed that our cars will still packed with stuff and even offered to unpack our cars. I didn't have the heart to let them because of how hard they'd worked all day to get us settled. All in all this was the single best move of our lives. The guys were so upbeat it made what is normally a stressful, trying experience a day filled with lots of laughter. I cannot recommend Booth strongly enough. I have now reached out a few times since things have started to open up and they have not returned my messages. Great service! I felt very confident hiring Booth Movers for my recent move (2nd floor, one bedroom apartment to a ranch house). The owner came out and gave us an estimate - it was spot on what we paid. They confirmed in advance, answered every question I had and were extremely prompt. Everything arrived in tact for the most part and the crew worked quickly. Above all else, the crew that was sent to move us (Harvey, Joe and Evan) was very personable, professional and expeditious. We enjoyed the experience working with both the crew and the management but I can't give enough positive feedback for the guys that showed up... They did an excellent job - the move was super smooth. I would definitely recommend Booth Movers to friends and family. While the cost was substantial, it was less than what many movers had quoted us. It was money well spent. We moved about a year before this from DC to NJ and did it ourselves with a uhaul. I have used Booth for several moves over the past 10 years or so and each one has gone smoothly without any hassles. My latest move was a delivery of household items that were in storage for a few months to my new townhouse. The move went quickly and efficiently. Unfortunately there was damage to half of my dishes despite being wrapped in bubble wrap and foam and packed in a glass saver box and GLASS FRAGILE was written all over the box. They also didn't show up as expected. When you are in luxury buildings, the elevators can only be used during the reserved time. I went with this company based off of their yelp reviews and boy did they live up to them! Ray,Chris & Zach were amazing. If anyone is going to be moving, request them. They work as a team and do everything professionally and efficiently. My husband has a broken back so a moving company was a MUST. I will never use another company in the future. I was quoted a certain amount while booking the move and the balance was cheaper than what I thought, another win! The guys took apart any furniture that needed to be broken down and reassembled when we got to the new home. Booth Movers were excellent during my parents recent move. The guys were very polite, well mannered and extremely efficient! My parents have a LOT of stuff. The guys from Booth planned the move and exactly how they wanted everything organized and were able to get through the move without any issues. I had taken the day off to help and ended up only being needed to tell my father to leave the guys alone and let them work. (and stop offering free advice, this is what they do!!) From start-to-finish, their customer service was top-notch. But, in the end, it comes down to $. Between the broken glass, vacuum, lamp, deductible and six hour initial move (never taken more than four), I estimate coming out of pocket about a thousand dollars more than I should have. They're all very nice and in it to make a dollar so I get it but deductibles should not apply when a customer comes out-of-pocket. P.S. One of the reasons I was glad my mother chose Booth for her move was because of the number of good reviews I've read about them. I'd expected the same amazing service that so many others seem to have received, and the same care, especially since my mom is older. Unfortunately, reality fell far short. I handled the new house while my mom was at the old. They asked no direction from her, took the cat's (empty) carrier -- leaving nothing for the cat to be transported in -- and the directions to the new house (the man who took them was going to write them down and give them back, but never did). There was plenty of shrink-wrap on some of the larger objects, but nary a packing blanket to be seen, leaving the numerous pieces of wood furniture prey to scratches. Boxes, bins, furniture, and bags were thrown haphazardly into the truck. The only blanket that was used was on the porch in the new place -- they put it down to "protect" the floor, but all it did was present a tripping hazard. When they pulled up, they took out a large branch of the tree in front of the house with the truck with no apology. One of them was on his cell phone -constantly-. They thunked boxes with fragile pieces down like hay bales. Professionally, I work with plenty of movers, and can say with confidence that the people who handled my mother's move were -not- top-notch -- they weren't even second-tier. I could barely communicate with any of them -- even their boss, who they phoned at the end of a very stressful three-hour load-out -- due to the language barrier between us (I don't care if you speak ten other languages, but there should be clarity in a business transaction). I wouldn't hire them to move a plate wrapped in bubble wrap across the street. I urge you to reconsider before you hire Booth. The best thing I can say about them is that stuff got from Point A to Point B, and absolutely nothing more. ETA my response to Adam P.'s rebuttal: "Adam, it seems you're absolutely right that we have different understandings of the agreement they had, as I understood that while they knew she would not be completely ready for the move they would take care of things appropriately, with the same careful approach that they have apparently taken with some of your other clients. You are trying to put a good face on your company and I understand that, but this is one occasion where your company -failed-, and it failed -hard.- Have you met anyone moving who -wasn't- distressed? The men were -not- careful with her things, adding to her anxiety, and there were -not- moving pads on anything. I saw the truck as soon as it was opened, and I saw each and every thing as it came into the house. A container of her china is smashed. No one is "deliberately avoiding your calls;" -- in fact, she has spoken with your office on several occasions regarding this matter (and I would assume that they have ensured they have her new number?). She took longer getting to the location because one of your men took her directions and did not give them back to her. She was not "tending to her cats," as she only has one; she was working to pack things. And I'm sorry, but your team could barely communicate with me (especially the one who was on the phone most of the time). They did not ask her any questions, so she was unaware that they needed direction.I'll give you that they were punctual and made sure they were finished as quickly as possible, but they were -not- working carefully, they were working to make sure they finished quickly. If I could give the customer service department zero stars I would! I called booth movers before I moved out to pa. I called and spoke to Anita and gave her all of my information. I told her I needed to move by Saturday the 11 of May. She called me back with a quote I told her I would call her right back to confirm.. I left her a message and said please call me back. Nothing no call. Next day I call back and leave her a message to please call me back so I can proceed. Again no call back and it was now crunch time.. Now this is a moving company you want to do business with!!! I submitted an online request for a quote on a Tuesday (after they had closed) and received a phone call from George on Wednesday around one in the afternoon. I was not expecting to be able to hire the movers because I sought to move in only three days time, on Saturday. George informed me that there were movers available for Saturday and we discussed the basics of my move. I explained to George that I had furniture and boxes in two storage units, the 10 x 10 unit being full and the 8 x 10 unit being approximately half full. I was moving from the storage units into a house about 20 minutes away that my wife and I had completely rennovated - refinished hardwood floors, new sheetrock, freshly painted. George emailed me a written estimate an hour later for three men and seven work hours, plus one hour of travel time. (Note- the travel time was the estimate from the storage unit to the house and back to the unit - there was no charge for time from Moonachie to the storage unit). At $150/hr ($50 per mover/per hour) plus $25 for gas the estimate came to $1,225.00. George said that they would arrive between 8 am and 9 am with a target time of 8:30. Since I had seen the positive reviews on Yelp, I booked Booth Movers. This was, by far, the best moving experience of my life. The movers called me at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday and informed me that they would be at the storage unit at 8:30. Sure enough, they arrived, ready to work, at 8:30. The three movers, Will, Arby and Chris, were considerate, personable and dilligent workers. They had an infinite number of blankets and wrapped all of the furniture. They made sure that moving blankets were lining the truck floor. They strapped everything in when necessary so items did not shift during travel. They took care of and moved all of our furniture and belongings as if they were the ones who owned the objects. Everything was packed snuggly and secured tightly in the truck. Once we got to our home, they worked carefully and without break to get our items into each designated area. They should be commended for what they did not do. They did not scratch the floors. They did not hit or otherwise ding the walls. They did not scratch the front door. They did not drop anything. They were courteous and kind the entire time and very appreciative when my wife and I bought them lunch. They finished their work in two hours less time than the estimate so the job cost $300 less than I expected to pay. You really could not find a better company for moving. These guys surpassed all expectations. If you are trolling Yelp, looking for someone to help you move, you need not look any further. Both Movers is your company. read more
