Long wait time. The BBQ is dry. Would be better off to eat next door. Much better places to eat.

Awesome bbq. The red sauce is my favorite. They season the fries and they are always fresh.

Bootleg BBQ has the BEST ribs I've ever had. I have enjoyed their food at Floydfest as well as at their location in Floyd town. Great folks.

He showed up right on time and was ready to serve when the party started. My guests couldn't have been happier with the service and selection. Everyone was able to build their own hot dogs and Charley made excellent suggestions when folks were overwhelmed by topping options. The favorite toppings in the group (not surprisingly) were the Pepsi Onions and the Bacon Jam. The sauces were popular as well especially the sweet heat and the blueberry jalapeno. I can't recommend them more highly. The made catering a party of 50ish people so so easy on me, the host. Very reasonably priced as well. Go see the Gunny when he's set-up around town but also be sure to invite him to your party, wedding, reception, etc. You and your guests won't be disappointed.

My dog had an all beef wiener, freshly chopped onions, and the home made chili - so very, very nice. The Smoked Sausage has a great flavor, and is truly massive - twice the size of the hot dog, and with kraut and spicy mustard it is excellent. Charley is a most pleasant man, and makes coming here a pleasure indeed.

The around the world plate ($35) isn't bad, ribs are a hit and miss. Some pieces have been charred to death and really dry. Other pieces are succulent and juicy. You get a good amount of fish, but the later you go, you start tasting the oil getting old. The wings are good. Simple topped with old bay. Crinkle cut fries are, well, just that. The pork chop was the shoe stopper. Look at that damn piece! (Sorry my inner monologue escaped). Juicy and lots of flavor. The steak they gave, was great. Who doesn't love a grilled steak! Come check them out on Randleman! Price range $15-$45

I tried a hot dog all the way, one without slaw, and a sausage dog with spicy mustard. These are good hot dogs - all beef franks, grilled buns (nice touch that), nice chili with a touch of sweetness, and all sorts of toppings if you are so inclined. The smoke sausage was of the same quality as the franks, with a rich smokey taste and a touch of heat, and the spicy mustard added some bite. The slaw is shredded rather than chopped, and has some heat of its own. They offer a variety of combos (2 dogs, fries, and drink for $7 for example) , and have hand cut fries, as well Nice friendly folks, you'll enjoy the visit.

The hot dogs are super tasty & you can choose from a variety of toppings: ketchup, mustard, homemade slaw, homemade chili, sauerkraut, relish, onions, jalapeños, cheese, candied jalapeños (I believe) & I may be be missing a few. Loved my hot dogs, only thing I would do different since it's a food truck & you take to your destination to eat, is that putting the sauerkraut on one of my hot dogs made my bun soggy. If I can get the kraut on the side & add once I reach my destination & I'm ready to have my meal that would be great. The fries were so tasty, some crispy like I like them & others just right. They have seasoned salt, Cajun seasoning, garlic salt, vinegar, & of course ketchup available for the fries. They even have a punch card available, after certain number of combos you get one free!!! Failed to get a menu pic, but I got the deal $8 for 2 dogs, fries & a drink. They also have: $7 for 2 dogs, chips & a drink & a deal with a sausage on bun, fries & drink (don't recall price). You can do just 2 dogs for $5 as well. I absolutely loved it, got my punch card & highly recommend it.

I tried it and I was so pissed I was ready to go back and argue and fight because it's criminal they charge this and give you the worst food ever. I'm Mexican I have 25 years experience in the kitchen and I'm talking authentic cuisine from Italian to Asian and American but I also have worked with Mexican cuisine and mainly tacos and carnes. The Al pastor tacos aren't marinated right I threw up after one bite and immediately threw it out I realized it was not fully cooked correctly and they used cow skin bits to pass them off as Al pastor tacos which is wrong. The steak tacos are very full of nerves and chewy as heck the chicken is just dry like all the other foods and I don't think they marinate their food or refrigerate it. I seriously em debating whether to report them to health and safety for food they are bad I hope no one goes there anymore and if you do just know if you feel sick or nausea that it's more then likely from them or even food poisoning. I don't even want to give a star. It's so sad taco trucks aren't the same anymore, the Michoacán taco truck down the street next to cliffs meat market if you go just know that their restaurant in Durham failed with flying colors their inspection and dorm refrigerator their food correctly although I admit it's good and taste better and the price ain't bad I do warn you that that truck will charge your card multiple times and steal money I had that issue

Every good thing experiences growth, and so has this family-owned business that started as a food…read moretruck in 2023 with a menu of North Carolina- and South Carolina-style barbecue staples. And now has opened a brick-and-mortar shack with a Texas-style barbecue in the heart of Salem, Virginia. After being awarded the Yelp NC Triad Squad Yelper of the Year 2024 Award at the Yelpies Award Ceremony last year, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, celebrating their contributions and accomplishments throughout the year, I decided that this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, I not only wanted to be the first to discover new restaurants and businesses, and bring them to the attention of the public, but also to uncover those found in hidden paths that for one reason or another have not reached the public in its totality. And Big Daddy's BBQ & Sweet Shack, in Salem, Virginia, is a perfect example. I love a good barbeque, so as soon as I found out about this place, I set-up the GPS of my Lexus to 602 W 4th Street, Salem, Virginia, and drove down there to go try it out. As I was approaching the restaurant, I was intrigued by the architectural design of the this small restaurant. Words can't do justice to describe its appearance, so I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to get a better sense of the place and its food. It was literally a shack with two large glass garage doors serving as the windows. Inside the place was clean with a rustic look that created the perfect laid down ambiance to better enjoy eating your barbecue. There, I had the opportunity of meeting Brent Bowles, the owner and the artist who designed the cute pig image for their logo. He was able to explain that his restaurant has a full bar with beer, wine and liquors, highlighting a selection of bourbon. He also was able to clarify the "Sweet" in the restaurant's name, in that they plan to carry special desserts such as smoked pecan pies and top-notch ice cream from the Tillamook Creamery. After I sat myself at a table near the window to have enough light to capture its food at its best, a friendly lady server came up to greet me with a copy of the menu and took my drink order. I ordered a Coke and began reviewing the menu. As starter I ordered the Brisket Sliders, and as my main entrée, a Pulled Pork Sandwich with French Fries as a Classic Side, which they charged $3.50 extra for them, and they were even not that many. My server was a bit inexperienced, because she brought me all the food at once, instead as starters first and then the main entrée. The food was amazingly delicious, with generous portions of meat in all the sandwiches. The starter Brisket Sliders were a meal by themselves, and are meant to share. I are one of the three and took the other two home for later so I could fit the Pulled Pork Sandwich. For dessert, the owner who was sitting at the bar, recommended that I have a piece of their Smoked Pecan Pie. It tasted delicious, reminding me of the caramel popcorn I use to eat at the beach when I was growing up. As you were probably able to see in my photographs, the place also had a small patio with picnic tables to be able to dine outdoors in good weather. I definitely recommend this place for when you're feeling like eating barbecue. And I can assure you, you won't be disappointed.
