This is not the Water Wheel you remember and once loved…read more Sunday night we wanted to hear some country music and line dance. We get there and have to pay a cover to get in and had a full pat down just to get in the bar. The woman at the front was super rude for no apparent reason. Once in we realized the bar was full of high schoolers. I guess Sundays is now all ages somehow which is wild cause there were definitely no parents in sight. I was there for 2 hours playing pool and didn't hear one country song. Supposedly there is a strict dress code but you couldn't tell by who showed up. These kids were wearing pajama bottoms and T shirts. There were dudes dancing together during line dancing sessions and there was no two step. We are in California territory for sure. There was some tweaked walking around asking people at the bar to "pitch in" on his little gambling pot online. The staff knew he was there harassing patrons and didn't care. The bartender even thought it was funny. I must have told this guy no 5 times to his little scam. I think the locals know to avoid this place. The security was overkill (minus the dress code) but the bartender was cool and she said to come back on a Saturday. I'll give it a shot and update my review. I miss Water Wheel.

Super attentive, fast, and genuinely made the experience feel effortless and fun. Huge shoutout to Aly too for the great small talk and good vibes those little interactions seriously make a difference. The energy, the service, the attention to detail... 10/10 across the board. This is the kind of staff that makes you want to come back again and again.

A family group of ten came here after a soccer game at the nearby sports park. A major selling…read morepoint was that they would take a reservation on a Saturday morning, when we feared everything else would be too crowded for a group our size, and a solid Yelp review finalized our choice. As it turned out, the place wasn't busy. A special treat was that a group of bluegrass musicians was jamming as we ate. Apparently they are there every Saturday morning. The ambience is quite dark and moody with wood paneling and minimal lighting that made me use my phone flashlight to read the menu more easily--more of the saloon vibe than a restaurant. But it fit the Western theme. The breakfast menu was pretty varied, the portions were large, and the food was pretty good, though not the best I've had. There was an error in one order, and I'll give the server slack because a group of ten is a lot to handle, but syrup arrived late for the pancakes, and butter and jam had to be requested for the biscuits. One odd thing was that they had no decaf coffee. The family was pleased. Overall, I'd call it a solid but not quite stellar choice for an old-fashioned breakfast in a theme setting.

Wild ride that doesn't seem real. It's gone still and there's nothing that can be done about it…read more You get this feeling standing outside of it. You first get here and love remembering those memories but after reminiscing those beautiful times you realize it's closed. Forever (think sandlot OG version). This is the place were friendships were made over toasting 40's and beefs over bands/views (those damn nazi punks man lol). First time there I was 14 or 15 going to see the Angry Samoans (ended up diggin the Neon Maniacs) and as me and the homies are walking towards there these older punks in an old beat up caddy had a chest full of 40's. "Drink up.." took a chug but it wasn't enough to impress "oh c'mon kid don't be a pussy.." (some s**t like that). Awesome how the older punks were there hookin it up wish I could've been that cool. It was the lot before getting in to The Showcase where the sushi spots at (I think). From Angry Samoans to Toxic Narcotic! You had all kinds of shows there from punk, crust, metal, hip hop and rave nights. I was mainly there for the punk/crust shows and over time I really gotten into death metal and it's crazy to see DEATH came thru here in 1995!! If only I was old enough I could've met Chuck (RIP) really awesome how I got to see The Addicts there! That show was nuts!! How the girls loved Monkey and how they showered him in kisses lol \m/ It was an amazing time for the local music scene and shows in general. No food but there always was booze outside and cigarettes, bud whatever. Not sure if it's still there but that pizza place next door man.. I never ate there but we never had money to begin with, just enough to get in. Bottles borrowed for a CVS on the way there. After getting a bum to buy us beer once we knew never to do that again. Dude tried to keep 10 bucks! Hell no!! Drink and partying before and after the shows. That's where I learned about train hopping and kids really living that "Suberbia"(movie iykyk) life. What's really cool.. I got to sing on that stage with my band at the time hell yeah and to other locals that got that shot, we at least got up there before it was gone Those last couple of fights plus that stabbing really did it for this place (imo). Really sucks when the violence would peak. The owner was feed up with that nonsense and I get it, huge liabilities and no one wants a lawsuit and lose their livelihood. But to go on that documentary and say "I sold it to the city but I had no idea that they would shut it down!.." is pure BS. He damn well knew the city wouldn't want anymore of that discord so of course they would shut it down But alas, it's gone and I feel like it's frozen in time. You hang out the front of the joint and you're stuck in time. Like in a movie you can see everyone standing there and sitting on the rail. The big security dude in the front. Huge Mohawks, huge spikes, leather jackets ripped shirts/jeans, boots/combat boots, camo shorts, cut off sleeves, cvs slip ons, backpacks and petroleum smell. Even tho I can see all that... those front doors are locked, never to be opened for shows again. take me back to those wonderful days of nothing else to do but hit the showcase. Get buzzed with the homies, watch a show, spang for some change and hit del taco and go home. Great times, gonna go back to take some pictures for here and IG. It's a soft spot seeing this place on here. Post something if you remember this place or have a story to tell. Need to do like a show honoring The Showcase rally up! ps- Left Over Crack were some pussies and glad Toxic Narcotic called'em on out that "no stage diving" bs. Threatening to stop play, in my mind I was thinking "s**t by all means stop! I only came here to see Toxic Narcotic!!"
