So yesterday was my birthday, I decided to go to your establishment as I have done multiple times in the past. I am a local videographer and journalist with over 10 million views on the Internet. Nobody huge small time, but I have a lot of big connections. My most famous interview was just a few months ago when I interviewed Chad Bianco. I'm not some creepy weirdo. I got off work. I went there. I filmed like I normally do. I love to visit businesses, film, and promote the business while , using the content for my platforms. The last time I filmed here I actually filmed Kylie Trout performing and she thanked me and I put it on my social media and it did well and I promoted your business, all these videos I have will be taken down just so you . Looking at different platforms, there are plenty of videos of multiple people walking into the establishment and filming and filming and filming. Well today, the security guard came up to me stopped me from filming, which is fine. I immediately stopped filming. And I asked him what is the policy because I had filmed there before and I just wanted to know because if it's a no filming policy inside the establishment, I would no longer film there again and he said he would talk to the owner and let me know. Mind you a couple of the girls did complain I was filming and that's no problem. I stopped filming. I had a long day I had gotten off work. I was in my work clothes. I did not approach one single girl. I did not attempt to talk to any girls. I was not harassing anyone. I was only filming because that's what I do as a content creator while enjoying a cold beer. Well, the bouncer never came up to me because he acts like he was gonna tell me the policy so I went up to him. He was by the door with the door greeter. I wanted to get this settled and I want clear communication the next time I visit. Well, I'm trying to talk to him and ask him and the door greeter, some cranky old lady, started going off on me for no reason. She became confrontational which I was only like I said, only trying to get clarity, this upset the bouncer because the door grid was going off on me and getting mad for no reason, and I was immediately kicked out of the establishment on my birthday mind you. That's fine. I immediately sat down my almost full beer that I had just purchased and left immediately. No confrontation no curse words I said OK I won't come back. Well, everything was cool the bouncer walking me off Property I get it. He was angry. Somehow his feelings were hurt. I don't know. Well, he proceeded to follow me off the property. He actually followed me all the way past boot barn and over to Thrifty even. So ask yourself a question why would they bounce or follow me all the way to thrifty? I continually asked him. Why is he following me and that he is escalating a situation because he kept walking I'm up on me stalking me I was beginning to feel threatened and I was about to defend myself. A few hundred yards away from the property off the property late night and a large man is coming at me in a parking lot continuously and I'm asking him not to. Finally me when I said de-escalate why are you escalating the situation because I was about to defend myself, he stopped and finally turned away. He almost got punched in the face, and the police were almost called. For what? Exactly ! For trying to have good communication and clarity and respecting what they told me. I did film this incident and it will be posted on my platforms. Just so you know, if by having your bouncers follow someone off property you leave yourself open for very severe consequences. I have worked in retail for almost 20 years and I have the same cable with broken arms stabbed and shot for doing things like this. I was in a corporate four and 500 company for over six years and seen many bad incidents because of stupid people like this. Your staff needs to be trained that they should never be walking off the property because it poses a danger to not only themselves, but also the customers. I hope this young man can be talked to you before he gets hurt in a future in incident, as it was very foolish. I had the full right to attack him and defend myself and he's lucky I didn't at that point as I felt extremely threatened. read more

Hope the few people on the dance floor are enough to pay your bills. Looks cool, but instructor doesn't necessarily welcome newcomers. Been here 2 hours are the "dance lesson" was so quick I didn't catch anything. It's been a long time since I've line danced, but I have many years of salsa, merengue, line dancing and swing. The "lesson" was so quick that I felt ridiculous. They got $100 out of me, but I most likely won't be back. read more

Went in to grab a bite to eat Was told they check ID. Sure no problem but please don't scan the bouncer said no problem then tried to scan my ID glad I have tape over the barcode, For me in the last 5 years been apart of 25 data breaches. Asked about there scanner is cleared of information each day, week no answer. So personal data is just sitting on that scanner if it get stolen there goes thousands could be more of people information for anyone to use. Would have been nice to say No scan no eatery I would have left and never let this review. read more

This is not the Water Wheel you remember and once loved. Sunday night we wanted to hear some country music and line dance. We get there and have to pay a cover to get in and had a full pat down just to get in the bar. The woman at the front was super rude for no apparent reason. Once in we realized the bar was full of high schoolers. I guess Sundays is now all ages somehow which is wild cause there were definitely no parents in sight. I was there for 2 hours playing pool and didn't hear one country song. Supposedly there is a strict dress code but you couldn't tell by who showed up. These kids were wearing pajama bottoms and T shirts. There were dudes dancing together during line dancing sessions and there was no two step. We are in California territory for sure. There was some tweaked walking around asking people at the bar to "pitch in" on his little gambling pot online. The staff knew he was there harassing patrons and didn't care. The bartender even thought it was funny. I must have told this guy no 5 times to his little scam. I think the locals know to avoid this place. The security was overkill (minus the dress code) but the bartender was cool and she said to come back on a Saturday. I'll give it a shot and update my review. I miss Water Wheel. read more

It's a fun place to go and learn line dancing. Food was reasonable and good. It was easy to fine and entrance fee is not too much.

I normally don't leave reviews, but the way I was treated at this place deserves attention. I showed up wearing a sleeveless shirt -- the way I bought it, nothing offensive or inappropriate. I went through security at the door, where the guard gave me an over-the-top frisk that already felt excessive. Still, I shrugged it off and went inside. I spent two hours there, took part in the dance class, had a couple of drinks, ordered food -- I was having a great time. Then out of nowhere, I get tapped on the shoulder. It's the *same* security guy from the front, and now he suddenly has a problem with my shirt. After two hours of being inside with zero issues, now it's a problem? Instead of handling it calmly, he brings over a big guy in no visible uniform who calls himself the "head of security." The attitude he came with was aggressive and unprofessional -- zero explanation, just a power trip. I was a paying customer, not causing any issues, and was there to have a good time like everyone else. Being harassed like that was completely unnecessary and made it clear they don't respect the people who support their business. This place needs to seriously retrain their security staff on how to treat guests. Until they do, I won't be coming back -- and I'd advise others to think twice before spending their money here. read more

Hate that there are reviews here that aren't great. As a regular I love it, the food is good, I don't think the drinks are badly priced and the security staff is always just doing their best to keep the place safe. It does get pretty crowded with younger kids on some nights, but for the most part it's a super fun bar to go to. read more

All ages Sundays are chaotic. Vibes are not very welcoming. Kids and babies brought onto the dance floor. Majority of the line dances are the popular pop songs. Partner dances are mostly west coast swing/country swing. No two stepping. The dance floor is tiny! Had absolutely no room to safely dance on the dance floor. Restrooms are dirty! AC was off majority of the night. When it did come on it was like for 5 minutes max. Drinks are light, make it a triple lol. Free tap water. Went on a Saturday night with a big group for a birthday party. $10 cover charge and they pat the guys down. Place was packed. K-FROG lady was there giving line dance lessons. A band came on. We had a fun time until we got our bill. Three buckets of Coors Light was $150! RIP OFF! That was just my bill. We had at least six other couples buying food, pitchers and cocktails. Who knows how much their bills were. Not happy at all! For that kind of money they should be able to upgrade their bathrooms. read more

This was my first time here and definitely my last. While the bar is not my typical vibe, the drinks were decent and the waitress we had was doing great. My biggest concern was with the Head of Security, Earl. Some friends decided they wanted to go ride the bull and one of the guys asked him if he could go where earl responds by saying he'll be right there. After 10 min my friend and i go look for him and ask if he was going to be the one with the bull ride. Here's where the problem started. He said "yeah i was going but got distracted" as he was talking to a young girl. Then he looked at my chest, looked me up and down and said "so what you're wearing booty shorts for the bull?" *i was in a denim skirt with leggings and shorts on but that's besides the point* I instantly shut that response down and walked away to wait for him by the bull. I was recording my friends because i didn't want to do the bull ride and noticed when my friend changed her mind on not going on Earl was physically blocking her from leaving. I could see her trying to get thru but Earl had his arms up blocking her completely. It looked odd to me, and my friend instantly came to me saying Earl said "you need to bounce 3 times so your tits can pop out to leave". The sexual harassment at this establishment is ridiculous. Not one worker helped with the situation. After asking for the manager i was getting no help because "Earl was in charge" since the actual manager wasn't there. This happened on Saturday 1/3 and I have been trying to get a hold of a manager for 2-3 days and have not had any response. When i called they had Earl on the phone where i responded saying "I have a complaint about you so i don't want to speak to you about it" he said "i didn't do anything and if i did sorry". I won't accept the apology where he doesn't even know what it's for. I asked when the manager would be there and Earl said "later idk". The manager seems to never be there and is impossible to get a hold of. I have never felt more harassed and violated from somewhere, let alone by the own security guard. At this point i'm still trying to get in contact with someone but want to bring awareness so other people don't have the same experience. read more

Walking in the vibe given from the security was a bit off which is not the main problem but definitely a contributing factor of the night. I didn't have a problem being patted down and paying the cover charge. And the service was pretty good as well the only server on the floor was handling the whole bar by herself unfortunately didn't grab her name but definitely kudos to her because there was anywhere from 100-150 people in the bar. Where my Main problem was is with the other security (supposedly the "Head of Security") his name was Earl. And while my girlfriend and her friend wanted to go and ride the mechanical bull . I decided to hang back and make sure no one took the table we were at and figure security was heavy didn't think there would be any problems. 5-10 minutes Later tell me why my girlfriend comes back talking about how "Earl" (Head of Security") was looking here up and down talking about "OH I would love to see you on the bull in those booty shorts. And that's not all all her friend wanted to get on the bull and then quickly changed her mind after she was already in the pin. As she was trying to walk out "Earl" was blocking her from the exit and she asked politely that she didn't want to get on the bull as she knew she had a bit much to drink and she didn't want to get sick. To which he said the only way you are leaving is if you bounce 3 times till your boobs pop out. Are you F**KING kidding me this is who you call the "Head of Security". C'mon I know I got to worry about other things when going out but you are telling me I have to worry about the very own security that works at the place I'm spending my money at that is absolutely ridiculous. And to make the story sweeter we asked the lady at the front to speak to manager of the place and to which the manager was off and she explained that since he was the next one in charge he was technically running the whole bar that night. Great. Honestly I'm not looking for any compensation and trying go after this guy as I will not be spending my money here ever again. I just want to bring attention to this situation to the manger who is actually in charge and come up with a game plan so that way this never happens again to anyone else. As to Earl personally he better check who he sexually harasses because he will face a day where if he is constantly doing things like this he is going to have to face the consequences of his actions. read more

This is NOT a place you country line dance. False advertisement in every way. If you're not in the click they will not play the music you request if they request at all. It's a ghetto club at best. For being in "Horse Town" it definitely does not live up to the expectation. They should change the name from Whiskey River to Rio Grande River. Trump would not approve! Sad. read more

I have lived in Norco for 9 years now and this bar is not the same. Poor management, over priced, watered down drinks. Outside of disgusting over flowing water from the bathrooms on the regular, despite complaints to management. I revisit from time to time hoping they have cleaned up their act to just be disappointed. It is sad what this once a hot and happening bar for dancing with friends has turned into. This place went downhill since new ownership took over, but recently started to get better. My only advice is drink prior to coming because mixed drinks are expensive, and avoid coming during the summer. My friends and I have been coming here for about a year and a half for social dancing, but recently the establishment has been on the decline. Some months back, they started charging for entry when it used to be free--fine. However, on their Instagram page, they advertise that entry is FREE if you are at the door before 6 p.m. The DJ typically doesn't come on until 7 p.m., so this is a good way to encourage people to come in before the big crowds start showing up. Recently they've been giving some friends of mine a hard time, and today I experienced it for myself. I got to the door with some friends, and the incredibly rude manager said "$5." I told her and a rude security guard that that wasn't right because the Instagram post said free entry before 6 p.m. (The reason I was showing up before 6 p.m. in the first place was for free entry.) She told me that there was a communication issue between her and the social media coordinator. She then started swearing and talking bad about the social media coordinator (who is also the DJ and one of the nicest people you'll ever meet) behind her back. I told them that you can't falsely advertise one thing and then change the price at the door, at which point the old security guard said "Excuse me!" in a feisty tone, and the manager said "You're working on not coming in here tonight!", threatening to turn me away for arguing with them. They then asked me if I wanted to come in or not, so I begrudgingly paid the money and went in. These actions directly violate California Business & Professions Code §17500 on false advertising, and §17200 on fraudulent and deceptive business practices. It's not about the money--it's the principle matter behind it. And you NEVER treat your customers like that. Not cool, Whiskey River management. Not cool. read more

13 of us came last night for a drink or two at 6:00 pm. The hostess at the door said there was a $10.00 cover charge for each person. I asked why and she said a band was playing at 9 pm. Really? I told her we would be gone long before then and she said there would still be a charge. We all went to Saddle Sore down the street and had a great time. Pretty fun spot especially in an area where there isn't much nightlife to enjoy. We went on a Saturday night and there was a cover charge of $10/person. Not bad and assumed it existed as there was a live band throughout the whole night which was pretty cool. Mix of country and some top 40. Plenty of parking outside and the bartenders are all really nice. We can tell some are liked more than others I think cause of how well their drinks are made, but they all were really nice and did their jobs well. read more

Stopped in for a quick bite when driving by. Burger was pretty good. Taquitos were fairly average. Drinks where average as well. It was a midweek night and only a few people in the bar. Bartender didn't know a few fairly common drinks but was still able to make what I wanted after I broke down the drink I waned. Fun place, inexpensive drinks, good vibe people and staff-wise. My only complaint is that the overwhelming majority of "line dances" were done to rap/hip hop songs. Feels like they are catering to a younger/crowd, so it's not a true honky tonk/country bar in that sense. A group of friends and I attempted to enter Whiskey River on a Saturday night about 3 months ago. It was about 10pm and there was a cover charge that each of us paid. There were approximately 5 couples together. After paying the cover charge the men were asked to be frisked. One of the people in our group was an off-duty law enforcement officer. He quietly and politely let the security guard know and refused the frisk and provided proof with his badge. The security guard became extremely rude and asked if our friend couldn't read signs. I feel as if the security guard couldn't approached this differently. I also don't feel like this is a representation of what Norco supports as a city. Saddens me to say there is an establishment that treats LEO's this way. We will not be back. read more

First time we drove here from w covina and happy we did. From the lady checking us in (cash only) to the waitresses. They were all sweet and glad! The line dancing classes were so much fun and the teacher was fun. Loved how the kids get up on stage and teach us all... it is a packed house and that shows what a good ambiance it has. Service is great but.. we come for "family/all ages on Sun. I love to see kids dancing BUT the DJ/dance instructor only caters to the regular crowd and it was 80% swing). Fine, do it AFTER 10 (when the "family" is over). Otherwise they need to stick to the line dancing so everyone can dance. I get a few couples dances but 3/4 of the night even before the "all ages" group was out, she played a few line dances and then ALL swing. We drove out so the kids could line dance, not watch everyone couples dance. Wish I could support this place as the only " family" location around but their dj/dance instructor needs to stop worrying about her friends between 6:30 and 10 on Sun and about the people that paid to come in and dance at the only place they're allowed read more

Disappointed to say the least. Whether it's privilege or entitlement or two women who are just mad at life & so that is how they treat people, I am a strong believer in what you give is what you receive. There are two women (a lady with long dark black hair & an older lady with a gray bob) at the front who check ID's and collect entry fees who are rude & out of line with their energy (mad at life) & when questioned on their conduct after paying $200+ in entry fees, called another woman a f*cking B*tch and then proceeded to ban her from entering after being the sole person to escalate the situation with her own language & actions. Security (AKA yes men) stood by and did nothing and management stood behind her and saw the incident & never intervened because he was busy sitting there with his friend drinking a beer. Everybody has their own code of conduct policy & if violated leads to a denial of entry & I'm totally fine with that BUT what I don't like is when respect is not given to ALL patrons from the start & the employees are the ones to initiate being out of line with customers and then seeing an inebriated management standing in the back who deems his employees actions as acceptable behavior. All in all, (to be petty) don't be mad at people because you're 50 years old and the best you can do in life is check ID's at the door. Put a smile on your face because that's the life you chose & don't collect my money & give me an attitude because you're mad at life (take it up with God).
