This came with green beans with bacon and grilled potatoes. I've never actually had a grilled pork shoulder. Being so used to the more fire version with the crispy skin, I really did appreciate the flavors that go into grilling it. The meat was still juicy with a bit of salt; it all paired well with the salt from the bacon and potatoes. Overall great meal with good service and easily able to wash it all down with some German beer. Just keep in mind that the place is a bit small, so you want to either get there early or head for the outdoor seating.

My plate came out with some thinly fried vegan mock meat and their famous green sauce. The schnitzel also came with a side of potatoes to complete the dish. Your slowly pour over the herby sauce onto your dish and dig right in. I gotta give it props because it was delicious and a banger of a local cuisine to get to try. Our server was nice and checked in on us periodically until it got too crowded. Overall, a really nice place to try some vegan local food without worrying about it containing meat.

We had the light house beer (Helles), brewed on the spot. For dinner, we split the Frankfurter Platter, which offers an excellent representation of German cuisine, and comes with the delicious Frankfurt sauce. The sauce is a local delicacy and is a must with German food. The dish was loaded down with three types of sausage, eggs, roasted potatoes, sauerkraut, a pork knuckle, and about four schnitzels. I highly recommend getting this to share. It is diverse, and very filling. The atmosphere here is cozy, and their patio is a great summer hangout. Our server was very friendly and on the spot. This is a must-try if you are ever in Frankfurt and super hungry!

Named after original proprietors Rosa Schreiber and her daughter Teni Heyne, their Sausage recipes still comprising roughly half of the Gaststätte menu, it was with sweet and sour Apple Wine from Rothenbücher in hand that "Cheers!" preceded first bites of Liver Dumpling Soup teaming with Salt and Scallions. The sauerkraut was simple but good! (Coming from someone who hates sauerkraut!) For the main course, I had the Frankfurt schnitzel (Viennese style), served with green sauce and fried potatoes. The schnitzel was very thin but was generous in portion size. The green sauce was really just cilantro. It was ok -- though I think I would've preferred a classic mushroom sauce instead.

The interior is warm woods with communal tables. Make new friends and enjoy a good meal. We the pork shank and sausages. Really good. Loved the atmosphere. The staff were great. Not everyone speaks English. If you let them know you don't speak German, they will set you up with one of their English speaking staff. Get the apple strudel. The creme anglais that comes with it really makes the dish. Head to the restroom to see just how big the restaurant is. One room has a tree growing through the ceiling!
