Boqueria has two spaces: the restaurant, where you can seat and enjoy a good meal and the bar, which has a few seats and a lot of standing space where you can have a nice and social AW. I have been to the restaurant for brunch and it was a lovely experience. The staff is friendly and good in recommending wines that go with what you ordered. The service was fast and the dishes were well executed. It is tapas-style after all so don't expect big portions. Although It is a tad overpriced for what you get. The bar is the epicenter of socializing! Always packed in the after-work hours, it's noisy and it's cool! It is the place to be with your friends after a that long day at work. You can enjoy a simple glass of wine or cider (produced in Spain) or even order along a couple of pintxos (small bites). Can recommend the salmon&avocado and the beetroot&chévre. read more

The pintxos are a fun concept, they taste original and seem made with care. They are the reason this place doesn't get an even worse review. It's such a shame, I just can't disregard from this, but the place is full with annoying, swarming, fat, fruit flies. When my friend got one in her glass of wine I went to the bar and asked to have it exchanged. I was met with a snotty attitude, not only did the waiter not apologize, he didn't even answer me and just handed me a new glass (good) with half the amount of wine I had in the old one (really bad). To start off, I'm not a big fan of tapas, but this was one of the better restaurants with this sort of cuisine. The food was exotic and exciting. Squid, heart of an oxe, tuna, etc. We asked for whatever the chef recommended and were quite satisfied with the taste, but seeing as the price was quite steep it was difficult to fill our stomachs without paying a steep bill. The environment is loud and cramped, with a lot of people pushed into small tables. The interior is nice though, with dimmed lights and an open view of the kitchen (which is a delight). Service was ok, but they seemed quite confused with the tables and orders, but it is quite understandable (seeing as the amount of people put into the area). As a conclusion, if you enjoy tapas then I would recommend this place, but not if you are a "hungry hungry hippo" like me. read more

Boqueria is a beautiful, modern, well-designed space with a cool graphic identity - but coming here to eat is just really weird. It's hard to maintain a simple conversation - noise level is very high, and for some reason several (3 I think, maybe more) staff members would constantly ask questions about bread, water, the meal, and god knows what. Sometimes different people ask the exact same things within a very short time interval. Haphazard, awkward service. There are a few fun and pretty successful dishes. Get the little stuffed squid, the mussels, and the jamon. If Boqueria didn't feel so impersonal, and maybe had less overbearing staff, it would be a much better place to have dinner at. read more

A cool, modern and very popular venue located inside Mood. Although a popular place most often is equivalent with a good place, it isnt self-evidence of it. And this might be one of the things to consider while going here. You can sit inside or outside and the decor gives a great feeling. Tapas is the common way to go, and they have everything from seafood, meat to veggie choices. Plates arent really expensive, but the amount of food, lowers the value a bit. Its a cool place to start of the night at but i think they can improve the overall experience more. If they continue improve food and service, they can most certainly snap it and take it to the next level. Its hard to earn a reputation, buts even harder to maintain it, and that might be the case in this matter. I think its an okey place, but they need to start walking that extra mile without taking things for granted. read more

I know there is a lot of hype around this place, but I am not getting it. The food is cooked well, but the flavoring is far from perfect. Most of the time the dishes are in fact quite bland in taste. The selection of the menu for us needing GF is quite small, but they are accomodating and will adjust the dishes they can. But if you also need to adapt the dish to the fodmap diet it will be even more slim. Also - Beware to ask the cost of the wine in case you don't order from the wine-list. They are not shy to suggest a bottle from the high-end of the price spectrum without letting you know how expensive it is... All in all it's a ok place, but it for sure isn't on the top of my list of places to eat in Sthlm given that the menu is quite tricky/small in selection for us needing GF and fodmap. read more

Boqueria is a perfect place for a quick bite to eat (pintxos by the bar at 25 SEK a piece) is really great. They have more formal sit down service in the restaurant part as well. The selection of beer is just decent (a few different Three Towns and couple of light lagers and St Erik's Ale) but the cava selection here is very good. Also very good on wines both red and white so this place will definitely be an option for an after work some time. If one is very hungry I do imagine that it could be a bit expensive since it will take a larger number of small dishes to fill up and it quickly adds up. read more

I enjoyed a majority of the tapas we ordered..charcuterie board, peppers, bread with tomatoes, bay scallops, artichokes, razor clams, pork fritters, rib eye strips with marrow, croquettes, mussels, and fried shrimps (entire shrimps fried which I would have preferred no legs, head or shells). We ordered a lot of food to share amongst 5 of us and our server did a good job of bringing out a few at a time so our table didn't get over crowded. The only thing I found strange for a restaurant in Europe, was that we were given a time limit on the table because of later reservations. I went there on my colleagues birthday and everyone was so disappointed with the food. Grilled gambas - like pieces of charcoal. My hands were black from trying to peel them. We sent the dish back to the kitchen. The beef tartar was served with sweet mustard. Bad combo! We were 7 people and spent over 4000SEK, after 2h we were asked to leave because they needed the table for the next guest. We didn't have time for coffe, dessert etc. So bad service. They could have just served a glass of cava or something in the bar for the next guests while they were waiting. I will never visit this place again. read more

Excellent Tapas place in Stockholm, a little on the pricier side (but we probably just over-ordered!). We came to Boqueria on our last day on a trip to Stockholm for dinner on a Monday evening. The place was absolutely packed both inside and out, but managed to get a spot on the patio which was nice for people watching. The service is great, the wait staff speak english fluently and for a menu that seemed so foreign they were able to recommend dishes that we really enjoyed. We ordered about 8 dishes for two people and a couple of beers. One the first couple dishes come out, it's basically non stop switching of plates until you're done. Since many of the dishes are meat heavy, I would highly recommend ordering the Patatas Fritas to balance it out. If you're not too full at the end of it, try the cheesecake for dessert! If I worked in Stockholm, this would be a regular after work spot for sure! read more

The concept of boqueria is fantastic, the work of the designers is perfect, the ambiance is a plus but unfortunately I cannot say the same about the food. I hope the owner read the reviews and make this place the way it supposed to be. Food: perhaps I'm spoiled because I live in New York and lived in Spain but I'm being honest , the food was the most disappointing part. Precook food, who does that? I watched the kitchen while seating at the bar for 2 hours, the Swedish cooks are trying so hard to be efficient that there is little art work or cero. They only fry or cut cure meats. The seasoning is lame, such a shame. please do yourself a favor and change your executive chef. You cannot do this to Spanish food. You cannot waste such nice spot and infrastructure. Do something before is too late. The service: please educate your servers about wines and the menu. They are not informed. You have too many busboys that are in the middle f everyone, get them well trained you don't need that many. read more

The tables are really small and couldn't fit the 3 things we ordered The food: we didn't get almonds with our olives (but didn't notice til after) - this was just a starter and same with the olive oil and bread. They keep olive oil on the table so you're paying for 3 slices of bread basically. The mussels were super salty but the bread helped after we asked for more (but he charged us for that extra). And the pulled pork fritters were average. Overall it was a fine experience but nothing special. It isn't super expensive, typical Stockholm prices. read more

I've only been here once - and I intend to keep it that way. Right from the get go the experience became negative when the waitress was rude and had an attitude about doing basic things such as giving us extra wine glasses. I immediately joked that she'd "probably spit in our food or glasses" and when she came with the glasses one was clearly very dirty and the other one was broken and had a crack on top of it, which undoubtedly was done out of spite. Disastrous. After a while the food started to roll in. Instead of splitting the food for the people they just came in one big bowl so we had to take turns and pass it around and lost a lot of time and joy in doing that. And funny thing is, the one big dish that five people took to share, was not even finished to 50% because it was that bad. As the food kept coming in more and more food was left behind. Constant frustration and confusion as how to split the food as they just delivered everything in big bowls. Only one meal was universally considered as "good" and the other five (!) we took nobody praised. We also ordered fried chicken which took so long to prepare and came out so much later than the rest of the food that we all actually forgot it was even ordered. And when it finally came half of the portion was actually red and bloody so we had to send it back because it was disgusting. I had never been to a tapas place before, but I was not happy. Everything was way too small and pricey. A petite bite-size burger cost 60 kr and it wasn't even good. That's not far from a full-size proper burger at a decent place. I'd urge everyone to stay away from this place. The worst dining experience I've had in years. read more

Good food but poor service. We made a reservation for 9 people and were squeezed in around a table that at most fit 6 people. We arrived in 2 groups and the waitress came around a first time only to take orders from half of the first group. The waitress didn't remember who had ordered what drinks, and when the food arrived they didn't really tell us what it was they put on the table. As the menu is in Portuguese it's quite difficult to understand from the start. This led to a lot of confusion, since we had ordered separate tapas, 3-4 each. They put different tapas orders on the same plate, so we had no idea what we were served and whose it actually was. The table was too small to start with so it made it difficult to eat. Some people got all of their 3-4 tapas before some people had even gotten their first one. I wouldn't come back to this place with this level of service. read more

Went on a Friday night so crowds were to be expected. Fortunately we had reservations so we didn't have to wait long for our table. We were a group of three and they sat us at a table big enough to hold a few plates and drinks. The table was already crowded with glasses, silverware and olive oil that came in a large metal (supposed to be rustic, I guess) box. Wasn't too impressed by the table layout but we made it work by shuffling items around and finishing the food quickly so the servers can remove the empty plates. The food was decent but overpriced even for Stockholm standards. The pork fritters was mostly batter. Classic Moules was on par but they didn't give us an extra bowl to put the shells (no space anyway). Salty Squid, papas fritas, tortilla and the pork shoulder was good. Food in general was okay, not bland but not amazing. Let's just say the good company made the night memorable, not the food. Very trendy and scene-y type restaurant. The area around it turns into a club after 10:00 pm and you have to leave through the back exit that goes outside. I would only go back if my friends insisted that we go. I probably would not recommend unless you are really, really, really in the mood for tapas and there's no other option. I'm writing as a traveler so perhaps locally this is just the typical tapas experience. read more

It lacks flavor and feels like it's been compensated through excessive use of fat. We had four plates out of which I would just eat the Ceviche again. We had reserved a table at the restaurant for lunch on a Saturday and had over all a wonderful experience at the Boqueria. Service is very friendly, knowledgeable and relaxed, sometimes a tad slow. Food is tasty and our favorite is the pig ribs that were just falling off the bone and came with a delicious sauce. The one little disappointment was the beef tartar where it felt like the raw meat was mixed with something (?) that made it more creamy than what it naturally is. Probably good for the person who is not a huge fan of tartar, but some of that raw taste was lost in the creaminess. It is lame that you have to buy bread even though it is cheap (20SEK) - charge me more for my food if you have to, and give me the bread for free. Much better experience that way. I absolutely love the atmosphere in here but I am sad the seating for lunch is only 1 hour and 15 minutes. read more

Do not go there. Do not go there. Do not go there. Mostly because of service (see report below), but partly because of food: Not enough vegetarian. Shrimp were salty and difficult to eat. But, tuna was good, as was tortilla espanola and pumpkin/beet/cheese dish. And the kids liked the hamburguesas. We had a 5.30 reservation; they didn't *open* until 5.40, we weren't addressed until 5.45. By way of greeting, the hostess said, "You have your table until 7.45." The menu is minimal, with no descriptions. We asked about 5-7 items on the menu, and the young, wage-slave waitress answered as minimally as possible - no interest in the food, no interest in expanding, describing, illuminating, no interest in enticing us. Really a fantastically crappy service worker who has either been trained in disinterest and apathy or has been specifically hired for already having honed these traits. I suspect the latter; each of the four personnel we had encounters with were eerily similar in their complete lack of engagement and joie de travailler. We had ordered 2 portions of patatas fritatas, and when the dish came, the potatoes were covered with decidely un-delicious sauce. We asked to have the second order without sauce and were told that the dish we received already included both our orders. Very convenient for them. We were clearly disappointed about the amount of sauce, but there was absolutely no sign of sympathy, and certainly no instinct to replace the order. So, we asked for another order without sauce, which in the end never came. When our waitress returned after a bit of a hiatus, we told her there was another order put in for patatas fritatas without sauce (because we were disappointed at the amount of sauce and extensive coverage) but that we didn't even want that anymore. We were clearly not overly pleased with our meal or experience. But she was very much a student of the school of whatever. She was more than happy to fetch our bill and replace us with another group of wallets, and while we were still seated and waiting for the bill to return to sign and get the hell out of there, she came back with a wash rag and wiped down the table. I swear some crumbs landed on my lap. At least I was in the right mood to find that funny. Obviously, she received no tip. Zero. Zilch. Or, as the Spanish would say, Nada. A buzzing restaurant with a very warm atmosphere. One of my own go-to places, great for many different dinner scenarios; before a night on the town, dates,or a more chill dinner with friends. They serve delicious tapas and the staff is friendly and very knowleadgable. I always ask what they recommend on the menue and what wines go with it and I've never been disappointed.
