Isabel has been the best barber/hairstylist I have had in my 36 years of life. After going to her for a couple of years, I moved away from the Houston area for school. I struggled to find a hairstylist that was as good as her. When I returned, I knew I didn't need to find a new barber, as she always took care of me before. She is a master in the art of hair with a side of expertise in humor. A mentor of mine once said that a great barber is like a therapist in their ability to listen to your inner dialog and bring a wave of deep peace to you while also providing you with a stylish haircut. I was in need of a new hairdresser and I am SO HAPPY I was recommended to Bordelon's Barber Shop! I am a bit picky with my short hair and had been going to my guy for the past 8-years so I was nervous going to someone new...would they know how to cut my short hair? Would it be textured the way I like it? Would it be too short? Let me tell you, Isabel nailed it! She asked lots of questions of what I like and frequently checked-in with me as the haircut was happening. I would drive many hours through Houston traffic to have the experience I had with Isabel again (and I will)! She is so easy going and knowledgeable. She clearly believes in making her clients comfortable, and most importantly, listens to what you want for you, and is clear about how you are in charge. She is inquisitive and makes sure you feel comfortable setting boundaries and that you like your hair before leaving. She offers snacks and drinks, and will sell you products without making you feel bad if you don't want them. Isabel has a large clientele because of her repeat customers liking her. If you are late or miss an appointment, please note there is a charge, which is appropriate as she is holding a spot and is not a Supercuts kind of place! It is not fair to stand her up. So I'm sure many of us have had that walk of shame home after visiting your barber. Well I was expecting that before I came, since this is the first time I'm visiting Isabel for a haircut. But man did she proved me wrong. The shop is located in Image Salons, very nice, modern looking building. Her shop is located in suite 109. Isabel is an extremely polite person, and she has great knowledge on hair. She spent a good 20 minutes asking, consulting, and recommending what would work for me and what would she do to provide me the hairstyle I wanted. She cares about her customers, and she takes her time to make sure you get that perfect haircut. You can make sure you're getting a good looking haircut from Isabel because unlike other barbers, she actually tells you whether the hairstyle would look good or not on you. This is only my first visit but she has left quite an impression for me. Bordelon's is the new got to barbershop for me. Highly recommend you give Isabel a try, she's very much worth it. read more

I moved from College Station where barber's are slim, but because of the Corp of the Cadets, some of the best barber's I have ever met. Not to mention the price. I moved to Houston after obtaining my Master's and tried multiple places (Capone's, Rooster's, V's) and while they provided a decent cut, I wasn't ever happy. I sat in Isabel's chair 5 months ago, and now you couldn't pry me out there. Isabel is one of the coolest people out there. Not only is she wicked talented, but cares about the quality of her work and the customer experience. She takes her time to make sure everything is perfect, just how you want it She is an expert and I wouldn't trust my hair, or yours, with anyone else.She will, straight up (break out into some Paula Abdul) tell you when she thinks something might not look good, at least right away, but she will make sure you get there.
