First you are directed to the Courtesy Desk, the staff go over your pre-filled form and existing passport, if all checks out you are given a number and sent back to the waiting area. The waiting time obviously depend on how many people are applying on the day, but the line for those with pre-filled forms moves much faster; you go up when it's your turn, answer the questions if there is any, pay the fee and you are done and out.

The forensics department of the Michigan State Police works out this location as well. It is normally a very busy site. The road behind the buildings is closed off. If you are not sure which building to go to you can drive into the main lot in front of the bright green building and ask in the lobby. The buildings are modern in design. It is easy access if you have business there either through the main entrance or the side entrance or through the parking garage (which requires special permission).

There was plenty of room for everyone. The main indoor space holds several tables and is equipped with a kitchen and restrooms. We also used a smaller barn for serving guests and used the huge lawn for vendor and beverage tents. There was also plenty of room on the grounds for a variety of food trucks and display cars for a car show. A full band was set up in an area large enough for a nice bandstand. I spoke with a woman who volunteers regularly at the venue. She had nothing but nice things to say about the management. Every inch of the grounds was clean and well-maintained. I'd definitely recommend it for events and special occasions.
