We had a drain/plumbing issue in a tenant apartment that was making the one shower unusable (i.e., an emergency). We had three other plumbers out to try to resolve the issue and they always just passed the buck ("you'll have to call someone else") or suggested replacing and entire shower stack ($2k+). Bore's was able to fit me in earlier than scheduled due to a cancellation, and used actual common sense to identify the issue, which was much easier to resolve than previously thought. The apprentice plumber called in to the master plumber Michael (who I believe is also the owner?), who was able to come out same-day (!!), confirm the solution, and call in the right tech. Then he waited around for an extra hour to make sure the tech did the job correctly, put everything back as it was before (access panel, etc.) and even rinsed down the tub (which had accumulated significant grime during all the troubleshooting). Michael was very informative about how to prevent further issues. And the charges were well below what we anticipated we would need to spend, thanks to their aptitude and careful consideration. Needed a reliable plumber fast, and that is exactly what we got with Bore's Plumbing! Not only did they arrive before the scheduled time, the office called ahead and let us know they were on their way and would most likely be early, would that be okay??? Heck yeah! They arrived, were extremely courteous and professional, did the job, explained everything that was done, the price was exactly what was quoted and they were on their way! Hired to swap in three new toilets, a lavatory sink/faucet, and fix an outdoor hose bib. Showed up an hour late, installed new faucet on old sink claiming not to know about new sink after having moved it out of the way. Installed one new toilet with a gigantic crack in the tank that I had to point out was leaking. Installed the sink crooked with the messiest caulk I've ever seen. Took four hours and didn't do the third toilet or the hose bib. I went back to double-check and on one of the toilets, the nuts on the base weren't even hand-tight, just barely spun down to the base. Giving two stars because nothing seems to leak on the work that was done, but definitely won't be calling them back. Called another company for the rest of the work. read more

I take care of most of my own home repair issues, but plumbing can sometimes require tools that most people don't have laying around. Such was the case today. After doing a load of laundry, the basement floor was drenched. I diagnosed the problem as a clogged standpipe. I tried to snake it but my tool wasn't up to the task. I called the plumber recommended by my neighbor and described the issue. He said he didn't have a snake sturdy enough job, but recommended the plumber he uses when a job is over his head - Bore's. The guy showed up pretty much on time, confirmed my diagnosis, returned to the truck to wheel in his snake, and went to work. Thirty minutes later he was done and headed out. Even cleaned up after himself. Nothing fancy, but got the job done professionally and quickly. Can't ask for more. read more

i was told before the job began that i would have a 30 day warranty, and then told afterwards that there would be no warranty at all. after disputing this with the owner on the phone, she did offer me a 10 day warranty, but i still think i shouldn't have been told one thing before the job,and a completely different and opposite thing afterwards. also, she insulted me during our conversation, which was not only unnecessary, unprofessional, and inappropriate, it was just plain rude. i'm a paying customer of hers, and i deserved way more respect than what she felt the need to give me, which was none at all. and the 2 workmen, who were also a bit rude and unprofessional in how they treated me, left a total mess for me to clean up after they left. a moderately large amount of water and debris was all around the repair site---they didn't clean up one bit of it themselves.
