I cannot say anything about the service or ambience here since I ordered delivery from here. I ordered a "boricua meal" with pernil, white rice, beans, and macaroni salad. The pork and beans were beautifully seasoned, fresh and delicious. The macaroni could've used a bit more salt, but was still very good. The portion size is generous so that I had leftovers for lunch the next day.

This place was awesome. Service and ambiance out of this world. I am not from this area, so this was good to see. The staff gave us a tour and educated us about the PR culture and their other restaurants. We will definitely be back!!

Yes it was like visiting my family in Carolina. My son is a US Marine who has some struggles with combat wounds. Taking him to Boricua was giving him back some memories. It brought him back to his roots and his Abuela. Thank you for making him (and me) feel at home. This was definitely good for our soul.

As someone who identifies as Puerto Rican/Boricua, I approve! I ordered a platter that came with arroz con gandules, pernil and potato salad. I also ordered papas rellenas, sweet plantains and empanadas. The arroz con gandules was a solid base for pairing with bites of the pernil and pieces of the papas rellenas. The sweet plantains were so bomb I was popping them in my mouth on their own. Same for the empanadas- very delicious! I had 1 chicken and 1 beef. I finished off with the tres leches which was yummy as well. All of that food was definitely enough for 2 meals so I had plenty of leftovers! My one critique is that the arroz con gandules was a bit too bland to eat on its own without pairing bites with the other sides. However, I arrived to order at the end of the day so I received the last of the last. I don't think it's fair to judge their arroz con gandules based on that. I begged them to give me whatever they had so I got what I got and am not mad at it! I plan on returning earlier in the day to try it again and to dine in/try more menu items. The atmosphere inside is also really nice. Its very clean and calming but also vibrant with elements of PR culture incorporated into the decor.

Note that I ordered via Uber Eats. The Beef Empanada was amazing!! Just like how I had them growing up on the east coast. The Madura were good, hard to mess up a plantain. The chips and guac were picky eater toddler approved. The downside I'd say unfortunately was the entree. The pork was dry and needed some sort of sauce. As a first timer I assumed maybe it'd come with one. Had I know. It didn't, I would've ordered one myself. The rice was okay. No complaints. The beans had potential. The few beans I had were tasty but most of the bowl just had the sauce in there....like maybe 10 beans max and I'm not exaggerating :-(

We eventually had to get up and grab our own menus. After another 10-15 minutes, someone finally took our order. The food was subpar at best. I've definitely had better. Everything needed serious salt and flavor. After we finished eating, our plates were cleared, but it seemed they completely forgot about us. We waited 45 minutes for the check--and only received it after asking. Honestly, unless you have time to kill and nothing planned for the rest of the day, I'd skip this place. Unbelievable.

Staff was friendly although it was hot they was pushing thru and they had a lot of other orders coming in from like door dash and Uber Eats! Nice and meaty, very tender and flavorful. I'd give them 9/10. Cabbage was seasoned well. They get 8/10. Candied yams were delicious. Would definitely get them again! They get 10/10. Needless to say, I enjoyed my meal. I had enough for another meal the next day. The second time I ordered the Fried Chicken platter with candied yams, Mac and cheese and a side of collared greens. The fried chicken was just ok. It tasted like it wasn't freshly made and not seasoned. Maybe sitting around for a few hours. The chicken gets 6/10. The Collared greens were surprisingly good, with a mild taste of vinegar to give it a little kick. They were well seasoned and tender. The collars get 9/10. The Mac and cheese was just ok (if u don't know what good mac and cheese taste like.) The mac and cheese gets a 5/10. A little dry and not cheesey at all. Needless to say the yams were yamming again. Always my favorite, they get a 10! The delivery was fast and the food came hot and wrapped well to avoid spillage. The prices for a platter, range about $14-25 dollars with 2 sides. Any additional sides are $5. No real complaints. I love that they are pretty generous with the portions they give you. I would definitely order from Top Notch again. Probably try something different to go with my candied yams :)
