First visit: Burlington, NJ. OMG! So dang good. Was like "woah, found a new burger place!" Lol It was a simple yet delicious cheeseburger. But it wasn't. It was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. lol. Second visit: Cinnaminson, NJ My only criticism at my first visit was that I needed more burger. So I decided to order the double. We requested fried onions and got raw. OK no biggie. I was just going underwhelmed this time. The taste of the burgers wasn't bad. They didn't seem hot. As I was eating the double I asked if they had a triple?! Like, where's the beef?! (IYKYK). And can we talk about the fries? They aren't bad, as a matter of fact, they are tasty especially if fresh. Freddy's does a lot of business. The parking lot is full, but mostly for patrons ordering take out. We dined in. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is tidy and clean. There is ample seating for about 20 people. There are men's and women's bathrooms in this restaurant as well. I would suggest parking on one of the side streets. The parking lot stays full and is small. My wife and I both ordered a beef empenada for our app. Main course, Shrimp mofongo, yellow rice with beans and shrimp sauce. There was plenty of shrimp in this dish! No skimping here! The empenada was good, freshly made. My main course was freshly made. Our waitress told us it would be about a 25 minute wait, because the take out orders were flowing in at the time that we ordered. I poured my shrimp sauce over everything, the mofongo and the yellow rice. The mofongo and yellow rice flavors were enhanced. One warning the mofongo is a good sized one! You may not be able to finish it in one setting. Oh one more thing. This place only takes cash! Credit cards and debit cards are NOTaccepted! Freddy's is all of the above! Its like someones parents opened up a restaurant and cook everything themselves because they just LOVE to cook. I've had take out from here twice and both times I was left beyond happy. Yes, food makes me happy, good food makes me happy. The food is constantly being brought out fresh. You can order to go at the counter or dine in. The restaurant is super clean and the staff are welcoming and friendly. Since I'm a terrible driver who easily gets lost I'd never drive here. So I took the bsl to the Walter rand transportation center and requested an Uber. So now I know uber/lyft drivers don't seem to be readily available in Camden since both ways I had to wait around 15-20 minutes. Being my first time there I stood around in the take out side before heading to the dine in area and sitting down. The one server just looked at me like I was an alien when I asked her for a menu lol. I asked my one Puerto Rican friend what is a good pr meal to order in gerneral. She said I shld get the arroz con gandules y carne frita which I did get to go. After seeing reviews on here I went with the shrimp mofongo and was excited when my friend said this is like a meat bomb meal with lots of meat. My other pr friend said it comes with rice and beans. When my meal came I was confused. There was no rice and beans and no meat bomb of a meal. There was a soup gravy type side that had some shrimp in it that was piping hot and a plate with a small salad with two tomato wedges and a plantain type shrimp bowl. So this was decent but may be something I won't order again since the plantain bowl was too much. If I had a bigger serving of the soup gravy then it wouldn't be as bad but I would like this with rice and beans to mix with. I did like the el Yucateco red chile hot sauce that they had which I poured too much of like usual and sat their sweating while eating the tasty shrimp. So I also got the pork mofongo to go and took a look when I got home to see no meat at all. There was the salad and a plantain ball which I am gonna hope has meat inside it. Next time I may go with the steak and onions which the one server said was good but we'll see. The arroz con gandules y carne frita was good tho with the yellow rice tho the rice needs the hot sauce I think. I'm told I need to try Freddy and Tony's in philly and Old San Juan and Latin America in Camden. My next stop will most likely be Freddy and Tony's since it's in philly with a different owner I believe. If there were more uber/lyfts around Walter rand is probably try this place again but most likely will just opt for old San Juan and Latin America to get feel for which actually has the best pr offerings read more

I had the red snapper with peppers and onion, yellow rice and beans, side salad, we also had 3 mofongos and pork with mushroom (must get!), chicken stew, black beans and rice (must get!), sweet plantains (must get!), yuca with onions (must get!), and flan and tres leches. Great tasting food and quick friendly service. Yes it is located in Camden but unless you are royalty you will be just fine. I ordered the shrimp mofongo ($17) one of the more pricier dishes, but oh so worth it. It's is basically fried green plantains mashed with garlic and seasoning and topped with stewed shrimp. They have a small dining area. The yellow rice and beans is fresh and oh so perfect. All the meats are nicely seasoned and cooked. If you have a major Spanish food craving like we did yesterday, stop in. Parking is tight less than 10 car parking ( I think). I came to Freddy's last night as part of a big group of people for dinner and I was really impressed. We weren't sure if we had too many people, since we read it was on the small side, but honestly I wouldn't say it's small. There's a counter to sit at on one side of the restaurant, and probably about a dozen tables on the other. They fit a huge group of us just fine pushing a bunch of tables together. As for the food, I was very happy with our restaurant choice. Their menu has a lot on it, almost too much to choose from. There's seafood, steak, pork chop, chicken, a whole array of mofongo, some spaghetti options, and what I ended up having, the amazing goat stew. I got yellow rice and beans to go with it, which I thought would be little sides, but which were decent portions in their own right. The meat was so good, it was very juicy and tender. I ended up mixing the yellow rice in with the stew at one point, and all the flavors mixed together really well. It was a pretty good portion of food for a decent price. I was definitely happy with our choice to come here, and I can't wait to come back to try more. I really need to try the mofongo. read more

The underwhelming facade of the establishment is hiding a lot of flavor, and I'm happy to be there. The pork mofongo was the most meat-heavy I've encountered; it could be more "pork" than "plantain" actually! Garlicky and rich, it was the clear star of the show. Playing a close "2nd fiddle" was the Bistec Encebellado, which pleases incredibly (just not as much as the mofongo). Con: The Camden location may make it a less desirable option for some... I got the chicken with Spanish rice and my boyfriend had the oxtails with Spanish rice. we shared a chicken empanada and also some sweet plantains. Overview: The name of the restaurant that I ate at is Freddy's. It is a Spanish restaurant that serves delicious Mexican and Latin foods for a relatively high price, depnding on the food. Pros of this restaurant are delicious food, and a great atmosphere for conversation as during my visit there were several guys enjoying a game of cards that invited me in. Some cons being that it has few parking spots and is located off a busy street, it is not as easily as accessible to me as other restaurants, as it did have limited parking available on the day that I visited as well. Also, the service was poor. The waitress paid little attention to us and visited once to take our order and another time to bring us our food. We had to call her to our table several times to get our check and again to receive our change. Date of Visit: 4/12 around 7pm Specific Information: Freddy's offered a good meal and vibe and a sense of a different culture upon entry. It also reminded me of Home because every time I get my hair cut during the summer, I get Spanish food like this after. It offers a wide variety of foods, many of which i was familiar with but some I wasn't, like the mofongo. It was made with plantains and chicken and was served with rice and soup. It was very good. They also offer many desserts like flan, which is a sweet jello like delicacy. Although I did not try them, the fish entrees looked good too. Going to Freddy's I never expected exceptional service because it is a small dive rather I went for the food. Freddy's is more of a Caribbean food (Dominican, Puerto Rican). I usually order rice, beans, and some kind of meat or fish, tostones (fried plantains) which for the most part tastes good. However, I am not sure if they changed their chef but the last couple of times they mixed up my order or food was flavorless. I can say their freshly squeezed lemonade is a must to try, or their morir soñando which is an traditional Dominican juice I will not give up on Freddy's, I will be a customer but I hope they start get back on track. read more

Freddy's is one of my go-to places for great food at an affordable price. They make authentic Dominican/Puerto Rican food, it taste just like my momma's. I usually get a whole rotisserie chicken, large rice and beans, a few pastellios (meat/chicken turnovers), tostones (fired plantains) with garlic, and carne guisada (stewed beef cubes). Typically I pay around $30 bucks and its enough to feed 4 adults and 2 children. Everything is delicious however, my carne guisada the last time I went was made with very fatty pieces of meat. Over all I highly recommend it. It's my favorite restaurant for my Spanish food fix when I don't feel like cooking. Every time I go I get fast, friendly service. I would have liked to been greeted and seated upon walking in but there isn't a lot of staff maybe 5 to 6 workers from what I saw. They do speak Spanish and English which is nice. I ordered arroz con gandules (yellow rice), maduro (sweet plantains), half a chicken (figured a whole chicken would be too much) and fried cheese. The food was DELICIOUS. An explosion of flavors. The chicken was nice and grilled, the cheese melted in my mouth and the plantains gave me a sense of being in the Carribean. It didn't take long for our order to come out and the size was big enough for sharing. They have a large selection on the menu and have natural juices. I got the piña colada which was more like a smoothie. They also have other flavors like passionfruit and soursop. Very tropical and exotic options that are rarely offered in other restaurants. We had left over food which I didn't think would happen. The best part was that I spent under $40 for a party of 4. They also have takeout options. I got an order to go and paid less than $10. You honestly can't beat their prices and the quality of their food. Definitely would recommend going to Freddy's. The food is great and they have a selection of natural juices that top off most places I've tried in the past.
