Boris explained that we couldn't make them more narrow because they don't have a zipper & all the stitching was done internally. I'm glad he didn't try to do something that would ruin my boots just to make extra money. He was able to shorten the boots and they now look custom made for me. His work is of high quality. Please see pics. He is also a craftsman. Boris makes his own high quality knock off designer & artsy bags using only the finest leather. I consider myself to be extremely lucky to bump into his store. Boris now has a customer for life. I'm so glad he was able to do me the favor and have them ready for me the next day so I could bring them on vacation with me.

No acknowledgment that maybe the glue they use is defective. Two months later, same thing, the soles need to be re-glued and I get them shined. Same price. So, after that I decided three strikes, you're out. They need to be re-glued again, so I went two doors down to the hardware store and bought my own glue and did it myself. A lot cheaper.

When I reached the door and peered inside, I saw someone behind the counter slumped over, holding their head in their hands. There was a part of me that just felt I should head back and find somewhere else to go but my hindsight is 20/20. As it turns out, he was just watching something on his phone (Yay?). So I fork over the $25 for a double heel replacement and drop off the shoes on a Tuesday and I was told that by Monday it would be done. Even that seemed a little odd seeing as only moments prior I walked in to him doing practically nothing and as far as I could tell he was the only employee there. Monday rolls around and I call, give him my ticket number and ask what the status of my boots are. I'm met with a, "Uhhhh, give me a moment" after a few minutes he asks me what the boots look like, a clear indication that he's completely forgotten about them altogether. I tell him and he goes, "Oh yes, of course. They'll be done tomorrow". I wasn't able to pick them up then but I came in on Wednesday. They looked fine so I took them and left. Fast forward a week and now it's the first day I'm wearing the boots because we got about 6 inches of snow. I go to shovel out in front of my house and dig my car out- maybe an hour tops, and the one heel completely falls off and the other one is already starting to come apart at the seams on the side. WTF?!? I go back to the shop and he tells me, "Oh, no, no, see it's the material on the sole of the shoe that's bad! My heel is good material, your sole is no good! I need to replace the whole thing, I'll do it for $70". Sorry, I know a scam when I see one. You honestly expect me to believe that a seasoned cobbler either.... A) Couldn't tell that simply replacing a heel on a pair of shoes would not fix my issue, B) Couldn't tell right off the bat that entire sole needed to be replaced, C) Didn't have the common sense to reach out and call to inform me of the poor state of the shoes/let me know that the entire sole would need to be replaced when going to fix the heel instead of charging me $25 for something you know isn't going to last or D) Genuinely did not know what the issue really was. None of these are good options but at least one would have be true. And the $70 is not the issue- I would have paid that for the sole replacement if that was in fact what I had originally been told needed to be replaced. It's the fact that I was first charged $25 which, more-likely-than-not, was charged to me knowing that it would not work and that a more expensive treatment would need to be utilized. For $100 I can just buy a new pair of boots. I should have gone with my initial gut instinct and not gone to this establishment in the first place so that's on me. I just want to warn others about this shyster so they don't make the same mistake I have.

Now i am not going to just give this a great review because the guy is my uncle but he does a great…read morejob. when i was younger he would take me on Saturdays and my job was to dust all the shoes in the stores and sweep... over the years he has dyed, repaired, fixed my jackets, shoes, bags etc.... whenever i am not sure i ask him first... He has been doing this work which he cares so passionately for, for 30+ years... he is a staple to the community around him... sometimes i wonder when i go by the shop how he gets everything done because he is always getting customers come in and out all day... but he gets it all done.. ill admit the first time anyone walks in here they will not know where to look first because he has a lot of "stuff" but he finds a use for it all.. The kitty cat he has in the shop is a sweet heart, she was born without a tail and is about 8/9 years old... he is fair when he gives you a price on the work he does.. because he usually REAL QUALITY materials... real leather, real rubber and it will last... so happy to call this guy my uncle!!

Was ready to give up but went to JK Shoe Repair since I was around the corner... and lo and behold, he said he should be able to fix. Quoted me $10 and told me to come back tomorrow. Picked up earlier today and it looks good as new. Paid the quoted $10 and walked out the door (literally a store front) and was about to get in my car when the owner ran out to give me $3 back... he gave me a discount! I was actually willing to spend the $10 so that was a bonus! Will definitely repeat business when I have shoes to repair.

This may be lengthy but if I can save just one person from going here then I have done my job. So my gripe with this lady actually began nearly 1 month ago when I went to drop off my black leather boots. She told me she'd do a perfect amazing job and charged me $70 which I thought was overpriced AF but I was willing to make the investment as my boots are genuine leather etc. She told me it will take a week. COOL that's fine. A week goes by and its radio silent. 2 weeks go by. Still quiet. Then I make the mistake of reading the reviews where it said she doesn't answer the phone. I call this place no joke 45 times, not one answer. So now I have to take time out of my day to pass by TO SEE if theyre ready. So I go and OFC they're not ready. I demand my shoes back because now she has pissed me off. However, she is kinda apologetic and she promises it will be ready by Sunday and if not Sunday DEFF by Monday. I tell her I get out of work late and by the time I get to her it will be around 6:30 PM Monday. She says I'm here til 11 PM every day no problem! She takes down my number. Sunday rolls around and OFC she does not keep her word. No call. Monday comes around , nothing. So I drive by on monday and the establishment is CLOSED! CUTE! Tuesday no word. I now have to take time out of my day to physically pass by and see if they are ready as if I don't have a job and other responsibilities. Now Wednesday is when s*** hits the fan. I pass by wednesday and she says to me "black boots right?" Great, it seems as if she knows what she's talking about and I anticipate everything going smoothly. She proceeds to hand me a plastic bag with a size 8.5 black boot that are very obviously not mine and the brand is ZARA. (I am a size 7 and no shade why would I bring ZARA boots to the shoe repair?). I kindly tell her that these are not my shoes. Bc theyre very obviously not. Instead of saying let me look into this or having any sort of normal reaction she begins SCREAMING at me. Like actually raising her voice, fingers in my face saying things along the lines of these are the only black boots i have in the store, these are YOUR shoes, this is not my problem, you are a liar etc. I tell her to lower her voice and request that we speak like adults. I soon find out she is incapable of this request. I tell her I am not paying for shoes that are not mine and this really sets her off. She then tries to tell me that I am a thief, cheap, this was my master plan all along, tries to make it about her having an accent (?) and that God is always watching and to give the money I'm stealing from her to a homeless man (??) and tells me to take my shoes and leave. After screaming at each other back and forth for nearly 10 mins while customers are onlooking, She is successful in gaslighting me bc I actually leave with the shoes. However, I quickly turn around and return to the store because these are simply not my shoes. This time, I try a new approach because at the end of the day I just want my shoes. I say look I am not trying to fight but where are my shoes? These shoes are 2 sizes too big and I just don't have any use for them? Since she has no emotional regulation , she begins screaming at me again saying that this is NOT her problem and demands that I leave. At this point I am so beyond annoyed and frustrated. I call my dad bc I simply never been in a situation like this before and he can hear her screaming at me through the phone and is even like WTF. So I said MISS THIS IS YOUR PROBLEM. And called the police which I truthfully really did not want to do but I had no choice. I began describing her features to the operator on the line.and they said police will be dispatched. She then collects her sharp items (?) a goes to get a coffee (?????) Odd. She returns though, and I have now been waiting outside her store for 20 mins waiting for police arrival.Mind you I have somewhere to be in an hour. As I am waiting, she VERY politely invites me inside. I knew something was fishy. She then says she "does not want to argue with me" and she "wants to talk like adults"- the very same line I used on her 45 mins ago! She hands me a pen and paper and asks me to describe my boots in great detail (?). While I am doing her assignment because again I just want my shoes, she opens a curtain to reveal MY SHOES. I was so gobsmacked at this point not only at the fact that I was right all along, but the fact that her energy had a complete 180 after she realized she messed up bad and making matters worse, she tried to Kii with me after , saying things like "you want to know whats funny" and 'please forgive me" etc. AND NOT ONE APOLOGY TO TOP IT OFF.
