First time here. Went in for a heel replacement on vintage Red Wing Iron Rangers. Horrified at the end result. The heel was not fully connected. He debated that "it was fine, won't fall off". "Is someone going to look at the heel of ur shoes." I felt angry but also sad that a professional artisan said this. This was not an artisan but a DIY guy with a store. In nyc a cobbler by law has to maintain a standard of quality. I asked if this workmanship was his standard of quality. He said yes. He charged me $55 cash for the re-heel. He continued talking about how he will do the absolute minimum to fix the faulty heel. I stopped talking to him at this point. I will return this week to pu the boots and consider legal action. I tried going to a few other stores with a job to replace the Sol of a suit shoe with a sneaker sole. Out of all the places I went to with this project, the guy behind the counter at this place was the best at discussing the issue and their pricing was the most fair. Even though I didn't do the job, because the price made made the project infeasible, when I am next in need of shoe repairs, I would take my items here before anywhere else in the area and I would probably not bother to talk to another place. read more

Adam was Amazing! I actually dropped 2 of my handbags off Halloween day when all the trick or treaters were out because ti was on the way to dropping my daughter off at her friend's house. He said he will call me the next day with a quote. He literally called me the next day today around 11am and said it was done and $20 to fix both zippers on my handbags! I just picked them up and told him I did not expect him to fix so fast! Needless to say I am very happy with his service and mannerism. Ive been in a pickle since George & Elizabeth of Dann Shoe Repair retired and closed their shop. Where would I bring my shoes for a shine or new soles? Who could I trust with my shoes? I took a chance and brought my Robert Clergerie suede boots and Celine flats to Adam at Elite. I told him I'd been a fan of George's work for the last decade - Adam assured me I'd be happy with the results and that he was a fan of George and Elizabeth too. The prices were right, comparable to what I had paid at Dann's, so I went for it and I'm VERY happy! Adam did a FABULOUS job on my boots and shoes + he shined my purple Nana motorcycle boots with clear, instead of black polish and they look brand new- you'd never guess they're from 1993. I miss George and Elizabeth very much. Adam bought some of George's shoe repair machines before he closed Dann and I feel like I'm honoring Dann and George's legacy by going to Elite. GO! read more

Very impressed with the work done here. I bought a pair of shoes with leather soles and wanted to add a layer of rubber to protect them (without altering the original soles). The cobbler added a layer of rubber so nicely that it looks like it should have been there in the first place. Fair rates and really beautiful work. I was looking through yelp for a good shoe repair place for some heels that I had to wear for a wedding that I was in. I take reviews very seriously so i can find quality work, and this place had some pretty good reviews. The owner of the store is so friendly and I immediately felt like i made the right choice. He showed me how much of the heel i could take down and explained to me why he couldn't take off any more than that. I told him it was fine and that anything he could do would be well appreciated! Two days later i picked up my shoes and they looked great. And guess what, they felt great too for the wedding! Definitely stop by here and just a warning, the directions through yelp are wrong, it sent me across the street from the actual location. Maybe that's where they use to be years ago who knows. I found Elite Repair from a Yelp search after my dog chewed up the strap of my favorite leather backpack. I took it in and Adam was able to patch it up in just two days! The toe area of my leather soled shoes was wearing down too fast, so I dropped them off to have a topy added. Adam recommended I also add heel taps to extend the life of the heel and correct some wobble that was occurring from my stride. He did beautiful work and the turnaround was great. Brought in several high-end shoes for repair and the results were amazing!!! I used to use a shoe maker in mid-town manhattan and I could not compare the quality of work. It was like I got back brand new shoes ! The quality was spectacular and the prices were almost 30%less! Spoke with the gentleman , the nicest guy I ever met and it turns out he had a shop in the city many years until he lost his lease and relocated here. Not too many shoe repair stores around any more but I hope Elite is around for a long long time. They even sharpen knives! I have narrow feet and I always need insoles for my shoes. The ones they sell in the drug stores do not breathe. Adam has leather ones as well leather and cork combo. They are more expensive than the foam ones but they allow my feet to breathe.
