I have been a patient of Borland-Groover for 50 years. My first experience many years ago I had a severe stomach pain. Went to my appointment and the only staff I saw was a person who wanted to make sure I could pay and to accept my insurance. That was back when Dr. Borland was still in practice. Fortunately, for every patient he retired. My most recent experience I have been suffering with sharp stomach pains. It took me one month to schedule an appointment. I went on July 3 and was told the doctor needed clearance from my cardiologist. The clearance request was to be sent the following Monday. I called Borland-Groove spoke to a person answering the Clinic main number. She told me that no request for a clearance had been sent. It took three phone calls to Borland-Groover and two calls to my cardiologist. The cardiologist assistant finally was able to get a clearance request form from Dr. Cabi's office at Borland-Groover. It is a sad state when a physician's office or a clinic is being run by the staff and not the physician. I believe it is all about the money that clinic or physician's are making and less, or no regard, for the patient. What is happening in the medical field? This facility is basically an assembly line for doctors to take in cash. You get wheeled into recovery and see that one person after another is wheeled in after another is discharged like cars being moved off the assembly line. In our case we were the only ones left standing because the doctor was so busy counting his cash and doing more colonoscopies that we just walked out on our own after waiting for Dr Andrew Brown to pull his scope out for another ca-ching. Totally unprofessional. Can't wait to see how much the insurance company had so she'll out for this guy. I'm guessing he will be able to buy another self cooling car. Arrogance at its worst. They wonder why people don't like or trust doctors. The nurses were great and the front staff were good. One of the other doctors had Coldplay tickets for tonight but he was out their consulting with patients, but not Dr Brown. read more

Went there today for a hydrogen breath test I've been waiting for since October. Parking was slightly confusing. However the Staff was very kind. The seating area in the waiting room was nice. They definitely social distanced and had chairs turned around so as not to be seated closely. I was called about 20 minutes after I got there. The lobby restroom was clean. It had an automated hand soap and paper towel dispenser. I was led to a back room and the nurse was very nice. He explained everything to me. It was a simple process. Drank a solution and blow into a bag/syringe for 30 minutes every three hours. I was able to remove my mask in the room since I was alone. They had a recliner in the room so I could kick back and relax while I waited. After it was over I was able to go home. I'll be back two more times. The doctors at BorlandGroover are really helpful and my doctor, Dr. Kimberly helped me out in the hospital and follow up was great. I like how it was so easy to talk to him and to hear a straightforward answers. Best GI doctors I have found since moving to Jacksonville, Florida. read more

You have rude people who answer the phones who aren't in this office! I was called this morning by an employee while we were in the car going to another doctor appointment. The girl I spoke with gave me a number to call her back but the number goes to a call center who couldn't assist me!!! Then you don't care that your patient has an appointment but since one of your physicians is in the hospital you've canceled all your patient appointments to handle the other physician's appointments without checking with your patient 1st to make sure if that is ok. Totally not ok. We were told since my friend has cancer and needs the permanent stint that also has to be done within 1 to 1 1/2 months or her symptoms will reoccur and back in the hospital she will go. My friend is almost 71 and has many different medical problems, now including cancer hence needing this stint. Because of moving her procdure my husband and I will now miss out on a planned trip with a group of people that cannot be changed and money paid is now lost. Oh, I got an I'm sorry but it doesn't help since they refused to work with me and find a way to proceed with her out patient procedure so we can go and not loose out on the trip or our paid money. My friend since getting out of the hospital has had 3 to 4 visits to different doctors since the 2nd week of September. We are running ourselves silly to keep up with her appointments and her care in assisted living which we cannot go inside due to Covid. Very unprofessional. Plus I requested to speak to the doctor too and was told he is with patients and will call me back. Guess who took a few days to call back then says we can move the procedure a week and she will not suffer ill effects. The week after appointment she was already itching very badly by the day of the op procedure. Then hours later after her procedure she was back in assisted living and they found her in her room shaking all over and kind of out of it. She was taken by ambulance to Baptist South and was transferred to Baptist downtown the next day. Later on they found she was jaundice and another surgeon had to go in. It turns out she had an infection in her blood. The new surgeon told my friend that the previous surgeon didn't put a big enough stint and caused the blood infection which she had to have IV antibiotics administered for 6 weeks. After being in the hospital for a week and not getting out of bed she had to go to rehab to get stronger. Run from this place....I will never agree to personally use a Borland Grover provider. I've never had any doctor office in my 61 years of life pull this kind of crap. read more
