THE QUOTE: I had gotten quotes from four window companies prior to Bob. The process with those other companies was awful! Long "sales pitches" and high-pressure, fast talking salesmen. However, Bob was refreshing. He's low-key, unobtrusive and really knows his stuff. I explained that we wanted to replace the existing windows with the same kind of window. He came in, measured the windows and then left. He sent me an email a few days later with two window choices and the prices. I emailed him back, signed his contract and mailed him a check for half the money. Smooth, painless and super-easy. THE COMMUNICATION: Bob called me when the windows came in. (The install dates are, of course, weather dependent.) He called a few weeks later with some install dates. We chose Monday, October 24, 2022 to begin the install. He showed up ON TIME and installed 3 of the six windows. Due to soaking rains the next day, the second install date was scheduled for October 26. Again, he showed up on time and began work immediately. THE WORK: Our windows were original to the house and approximately 40 years old. Many were "glued shut" and the handles didn't work on others. It took a bit pounding to get them out and Bob and his worker did a great job! The new windows are Pella and look outstanding! On top of that, Bob's worker did a great job cleaning up each day after the work was completed. TIDBIT: When Bob was here the first day, I asked him to quote an additional window in the dining room. (The bracket thingee that opens the window had just malfunctioned a few months earlier.) Bob noticed that it was the same brand of window as the others that he was replacing. He suggested merely taking the brackets off one of the windows being replaced and using it on the dining room window. Genius idea! Other shady companies would NEVER have suggested a repair like that! I hired Jesse to repair floating wetbar shelves that had started tilting forward. Turned out they'd…read morenever been anchored to studs, which was a real concern since they're solid wood shelves meant to hold real weight. Jesse walked me through the scope of work upfront and we moved forward. The job wasn't simple -- the wall behind the shelves had herringbone tile. Jesse opened it up, installed proper backing so the shelves could be bolted in securely, then redid the herringbone tile and matched the existing grout so well you can't tell any repair was ever done. That's exactly the outcome you hope for with tile work. While he was in there, he also fixed a leaking tub spout that required opening another section of wall for plumbing work, then patched and painted it back to seamless. Jesse's attention to detail was outstanding throughout. I'll be calling him for any future work at the house.

Marcin took the time to go over the process in detail and took our concerns into consideration. In particular, we did not want to waste materials when reconstructing two of our decks. Marcin saved as many deck boards as he could, replacing them with new boards only when necessary, which saved us money. One of the best things about Marcin is that he is incredibly responsive to phone calls and emails. In designing our roof deck, Marcin and I worked very well together.
