The restrooms are clean which is always a plus for a park. BRCP, has many benches/tables for gatherings close enough to where your kids can play. The playground is pretty large for the older kids. There is a little one for the much smaller children off to the side. What I like about this playground though is the flooring. They have this very cushioned floor instead of wood chips. When our kids trip or fall, they don't get badly hurt and they for sure don't get splinters or wood chips stuck in their shoes. Behind the tables is a basketball court that you can easily see from the tables if in case you're worried about your kids running off to play. It's easy to keep an eye on them from there. Beyond what I've already mentioned, I don't know what else this park has to offer because it's as far as we have gone for play dates or birthdays parties at the park. It's a nice place for kids to play. I only wish parking wasn't so limited.

The park does have a covered gazebo but no BBQ grill. Each of the three table can easily seat 8 people. I'm not sure whether reservation is needed or first come first serve. This is a very popular place for locals to walk their dogs. At the far end of the park is a viewpoint that overlooks Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park with a small monument thanking firefighters for stopping a wildfire from reaching the community in 2007. An eastern entrance to Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park is located at this park and quickly descends downhill. Trail maps are available at the trailhead entrance. There is limited parking so on busier days you might find yourself parking on the street. If so, please be careful crossing the street to the park - many Portola Hills residents are elitists who ignore the stop sign at the crosswalk and run right through it. I've witnessed several near-misses with pedestrians so please use caution and don't expect the cars to actually stop.

There's a small kids park and a very lengthy inner trail that surrounds the park. Such a mixture of trails - from creek running, to wooded forest running, to open trails. Great for walks, jogs, running, biking and horse riding. The park itself is lengthy , visible and ample street parking quiet but well visited. As you exit north of the park, the trail jumps the street next to Edisons PowerPlant and continues towards portola highway and towards whiting ranch or portola hills. Crossing over a few underpass and a few parks along the way. Its a gradual incline, that will meet up with mountain trails. Only thing missing would be the water stations or bathrooms... unfortunately, be prepared. Great thing, ever so often your have a picnic table and benches available along the way. This trailhead can be as short as a 3 to 4 mile round trip around the park, but the trail leading out can be definitely extended beyond 15 to 20 miles if your a cyclists- as the incline can be gradual until you meet up in the hills.
