Best dog park ever. We've continued to go here & love, love, love this place. To anyone crying about having to pay to get in--suck it up cupcake. It keeps the riff raff out & not once have my pups been attacked here (like they have been at free parks). *Photos shot What a pure joy to find an enclosed, no-leash park where our best friend can call its own. A few short miles past the Motorola campus on Algonquin Road headed west, you can see dogs frolick in this spacious area. It also makes a great place to socialize for dog owners, although the dogs clearly rule the roost here. Here, we mostly know the humans as "so-and-so" 's mom or dad. The camaraderie is solid, and there's even an organized dining out event staged lately. There are rules to follow in the park, but they are so common-sense. Pick up your dog's poop. Dogs need to pass all shots mandated by the Hoffman Estates park district. You can sign up at the rec center located on the lot. If you're a resident of HE, it's $40 annual fee. Otherwise, you pay a little extra. I understand Palatine has its own dog park at the Harper College grounds. Absolutely a great investment for dog lovers and owners. My dog thinks so. read more

This dog park is far superior to the Palatine Park District one by Harper College. It's cheaper, cleaner, bigger and you don't have to bring your own water! There is 2 acres the land, water service with bowls, agility equipment (logs) and plenty of picnic benches! This park is well maintained, clean, well shaded and inexpensive! The cost is only $45 for one year for residents and $65 for non-residents. The year runs from May 1 - April 30 so you don't have to get a renewal in the frigid month of January! The gate is an electronic key pad entry and makes it easy to get in and out. Even though I own a large dog, it's nice that they have a large section just for the little ones if they do not care for their bigger furry friends! I really wanted to give this dog park 5 stars. It is so nice. The park is clean, all the dogs have their vaccines, grassy area to play, park benches, agility course, and SOMETIMES TWO DIFFERENT SIDES FOR THE DIFFERENT SIZE DOGS. This is the BIG problem! I paid for the membership based on the fact that little dogs under 25 pounds had their own play area. However, I have found in the last month or so that inconsiderate owners feel they have the right to bring their oversized dogs to the small dog side. My poor little dog's tail immediately goes between her legs and fun time is over. When 50 pound Bruno wants to run full speed at my 19 pound Terrier not only do I get uncomfortable, but so does my pup. My dog has been ran over and stepped on by these dogs risking an injury. The park will get a 5 star from me as soon as they crack down on this unfortunate situation!!!!!!! Sorry! read more

I love this dog park, but I'm not used to the fee structure. $5 per day/$60 per year are the options, but most of the time I've been here, there's literally no one else in the park. Lots of space for my pup to run, good water fountains, and lots of trees and benches so that we can hang out a while. However, there's some sticky bush somewhere in the park and my pup gets little, sticky burrs stuck in his fur every time we show up. People were always on the lookout for aggressive dogs here, so that must be a consistent issue, but we didn't have that problem. I'd say it's worth the $5 if you're cruising through, maybe $60 for the year if you live down the street, but I'd stick to peak hours so that your pup has someone to play with and it's not worth going out of your way to get here. read more

Well, first I will say, this dog park LOOKS amazing. However my dog and I wouldn't know because we weren't allowed in without some ridiculous membership. We were just relocated to Schaumburg from St. Charles, which has not one, but TWO absolutely free no-leash dog parks...one of them even has a beach for the dogs. Coming to an area with much larger park districts, more residents, (i.e. more tax-payer $$) it seemed ludicrous to pay for a membership just to use a dog park. My brother lives in Wrigleyville and has also never heard of being charged to use a PARK. If you don't buy the "year long" membership (which isn't prorated until December, by the way) it's 5 bucks a day. I just wonder, what's next? Are they going to start charging people to bring their children to the playgrounds? I even called the supposed manager of the dog park who boasted that they have 300-something members, acting like I'M the crazy one for complaining about the charge. If you take into consideration the population of pet owners in H.E. and Schaumburg (which doesn't have it's own dog park) combined, 300 really isn't that many people. There are probably close to 100 dogs in my neighborhood alone. Get your act together H.E. park district and start spending your tax dollars more wisely!! read more

I *wish* there were dog parks this nice everywhere. I gladly pay Hoffman Estates the (totally reasonable) yearly fee and drive my dog all the way out from Chicago to hang out here on the weekends. Why? 1 - It's big enough to let your dog run free through trees, mulch, grass, and all over some fun agility equipment. For the big dogs (which have a separate section from smaller dogs, though the small dogs can use either area), there's a dog run that goes all the way behind the rec center building. 2 - There's water and a water bowl if you didn't bring one. There are combo bag stands / garbage receptacles with lids for dog poop everywhere. 3 - Part of the requirements for getting a membership is for your dog to be fully up to date on verified vaccinations, which not only guarantees your dog isn't going to be around questionable-health dogs, it automatically means people interested in using the park are already fairly responsible about pet ownership. This translates into owners who keep tabs on their dogs and know how to handle them. 4 - The place is crazy clean. 5 - All the dog owners I've run into have been really friendly, and I've yet to run into aggressive or oddly behaved dogs. For those complaining about the membership fee *cough* Lora D *cough* well... I'm personally glad it's in place. There are plenty of free dog parks to go to, and no one's forcing you to go to this one. Complaining about a fee at a park district is like complaining you have to pay a fee for using a community pool, or signing up for park district programs. If people didn't think it was worth it, no one would pay. From its success however, it looks like it's more than worth the membership fee. Like I said, I really wish there were more dog parks like this one. I don't think anything even comes close to it in the Chicagoland area. read more

I am very disappointed and upset about the administration of this park. So there so there are two areas for small dogs and big dogs, I have a very friendly labrador today arriving in the park I entered the gate for large dogs, there were two staffy american species, those dogs at one time started to be aggressively with my dog and respectively I made the decision to go to park two, there were some smaller dogs, one of them start barking on my dog and the owners of that dog told me to leave the park, I said I didn't have to go as long as my dog ​​is not aggressive. they called the administration the lady who came explained the rules of the park but when I told her that according to the rules the aggressive dog are not allowed in the park without leash, she just left telling me that she will withdraw my entry permit, so in the end in the park there were only aggressive dogs and they told me to come at another time!!!!!!!!! since she kicked me out she had to get out and aggressive dogs in the park. So I had I lot of stress because because she does not hurt to understand that she did not proceed correctly and that it is not possible to follow only one rule, she already had everything to do according to the rules, and to remove the aggressive dogs from the park to. read more

I have been taking my puppy here for the past 4 months and he loves it. Huge play area! 2 acres of fenced in fun. Recently added an agility course for the bigger dogs. Benches for moms and dads to get comfortable at while watching furry friends play. Great price, $45 for residents *year round*. Park is secured, parking lot is well lit and you can't beat the fact that pup will come home EXHAUSTED! read more

Our dog Cole just got signed up but we've already went twice this weekend. The park is great and offers everything a dog could want. We've used both the little dog and big dog area. We previously went to the dog park in Roselle and Bo's Run knocks it out of the park. Both times we went, there were plenty of dogs there. Love this place and I cant wait for summer to get here so we can continue to go every weekend. read more

To the comment from the dog park: Saying 'we have resolved this ISSUE' is just intolerable!! The outcome is that we quit the membership and the aggressive dog is still allowed in the park. I've never seen a dog park you have to pay for while living in Arizona, they're much nicer and bigger there... I expected much more. $5 a day isn't that bad I guess but I can take my dogs somewhere else free.... if you do come make sure you have all your vet records on you and plan a lot just to come here. read more

One of the nicest dog parks in the area. I drive from Carpentersville just to take my two small dogs here. I am not a resident of Hoffman Estates so for two dogs I paid the highest rate of $139 for a membership to Bo's Run and Freedom Run which is it's sister park on the other side of town. If you are only interested in Bo's Run the resident rate is $49 for the first dog and $15 for each additional dog. Non residents pay $69 for the first dog and $20 for each additional dog. The membership is good for one year from your date of purchase. It is worth every penny! All dogs require proof of rabies vaccination, DAPPL vaccination (distemper, hepatitis, para influenza, parvo virus, and leptosparosis), bordatella vaccination (kennel cough), and a negative fecal test. If your town requires dogs to be registered you will also need your proof of registration. As you can imagine the majority of dogs that meet these requirements are well taken care of and their owners are interested in responsibly enriching their pet's life with off leash activities. The park is a swipe card access and open from sun up to sun down year round. Once past the first gate you are in a safe area where you can unleash your pet. Then there is separate access to the large dog and small dog areas. Small dogs are considered under 25 pounds. Both areas offer paved entrances, large grassy areas, picnic tables, access to drinking water, agility equipment, pet waste bags, and trash cans. The large dog area also has a mulched section that is amongst trees. It gives it a forest like feel for dogs to play in. I have never once seen dog waste not picked up at this park. The grass, fencing, and agility equipment have always been well maintained. There is also plenty of parking. I have always felt safe going alone to this area even if there aren't other people around. Such a great place to bring your dog! Bo's run is split into two different parks. There is a side that is for small dogs only (less than 25 lbs.) and is entirely grass. They have things for your dog to jump on, climb on and run through. The other side is for all dogs and is much bigger! The area is covered in 1/3 wood chips, about 2/3 grass with several large trees for shade. There is plenty of areas to throw toys around, benches to sit at and things for your dog to jump on, climb on and run through just like in the small dog area. They also have areas for running water, but they've yet to be turned on this season. Its $45 for the year, or $5 for a day pass. read more

My dogs and I have been members for the past two years. Living in Schaumburg (with no dog park) this is the closest and nicest park in the area. The park district also does a nice job of making sure all dogs are up to date on their shots, so there is not need to worry. The double fence enterance works out great so we dont need to worry about the dogs running out. The park is kept clean, and water is provided during the warm months. Bo's run is an excellent safe facility for dogs and their owners. It had many nice amenities and practical ones like running water and poop pick up bags. The fee is reasonable and ensures that the dogs in the park have their immunizations checked and provides for equipment. One thing that needs to be better Monitored is that large dogs should not go In the small dog Area! read more

This place is not well-maintained at all. There were no waste bags available and dog droppings were everywhere including on the outside of the stuffed garbage cans. Also it is located right next to a forested area and I was told a couple of small dogs were snatched by hawks. Don't waste your money or risk your dogs' life by joining this dump. read more

The park itself is not bad but there are incompetent employees working here. I have wasted 3 weekends trying to gain access to this park and still no luck. I have learned it the hard way that their hours of operations posted on the door are complete BS. Next trip I decided to buy the yearly pass in order to have access to the park after the office closes but they did not set it up correctly and I had no access. I was finally told everything is in order and once again still no access. I have enough of driving my dog to this park and him watching other dogs play inside while I sit like a moron outside with no access. read more

The price is good, and the park is pretty small compared to other dog parks but it's nothing to complain about! It has paved entrances and a water fountain for dogs and agility equipment on both small and large dog sideshow. The small dog side is nice and grassy but the big dog side is 90% mulch. The dogs don't have a lot of grass to run around on although there is some. My dog as well as most don't like running around on mulch.... Won't be signing up again read more

The facility is great in that it is lit, has easy access and water available for the dogs. We have been a member for about 6 months. Though we don't live in Hoffman Estates, I joined because they have a separated area for small and large dogs. At first we were visiting almost daily and had wonderful experiences. The problem is that not all owners follow the rules about keeping the larger dogs in their area. On one occasion when we arrived I noted 2 larger dogs in the small dog area; assuming they were OK, we proceeded into the small area between the 2 parks. At that moment the woman with the larger dogs decided to leave the small dog area and within seconds my dog was attacked. I stepped in between, she grabbed her dogs, apologize, and went to the larger dog area, but my dog was traumatized to say the least. Several times after that I returned to the park and each time I found owners with their large dogs in the small dog area. I chose to just drive off because one bad experience was enough and I didn't want to confront them asking them to move to the other area. I know it's not possible for the park district to "police" the park, but if owners would only follow the rules, this would be a fabulous park. read more
