Today we had a TERRIBLE time with Floras dry cleaning, who we found out that they drop off their alterations over here at BOS. We went to FLORAS DRY CLEANERS on Saturday to get an expedited patch job done on his field work pants, which was assured to be done on Monday. Come today,Monday, we went around 4:55 for pick up and the lady AT FLORAS DRY CLEANING said they use BOS for their alteration, and to go pick it up there-THAT PICKING IT UP THERE WILL PROBABLY BE CHEAPER. We were hoping to get his new suit hemmed at FLORAS DRY CLEANING, THE LADY AT FLORA SAID since we are going there to go pick up his work pants, to get my husband's suit hemmed at BOS as well. She said she will call them to let them know we are coming. Weird, but okay. Went over to BOS alterations and we had to explain to Myung(she did NOT receivd a phone call) the situation. She had thoroughly looked 2x everywhere and couldn't find it. We called FLORS, gave our phine to Myung and she looked for it one more time and couldn't find it! We went back to FLORA, which the lady BAD MOUTHED MYUNG, SAYING SHE ISN'T HELPFUL. we later find out that Steven's pants WAS AT FLORAS THE WHOLE TIME. The same lady who bad mouthed Myung, was in actuality the one who was NOT HELPFUL. BACK TO BOS, where Myung went ahead and quickly, professionally pinned the areas that needed to be hemmed on the pants, and also pointed out that the jacket sleeves were too long as well which she pinned. She was kind, and professional. I will update our review after we pick up his suit. read more

Bos Sewing does not have the requisite skill or knowledge to tailor a suit. Their skill set is solely reserved for mending and the making of uniform patches and nametags and uniform alterations. When it comes to civilian suits, they have no idea. I gave them a brand new $500 linen suit. I wear cuffed pants with suits because it makes them more formal. I also like the cuff angled, like a military cut. They made the break in front much too long and the break in back too long as well. But because they'd already cut off all the extra material, they had no more wiggle room to fix it and retain the cuff. The lady said she can't cut a cuff on an angle, even if she had enough material. Sigh. I've had more than 30 suits hemmed with an angled cuff. You can google it, I told her. It can be done, I said. She shrugged and said, I don't have that skill. There you have it. She took the pants and messed them up because she doesn't have the skill. Then she happily took my money, wouldn't look me in the eye, wouldn't even give me a discount. I'm never going to them again and will warn off anyone who asks me. Now I have to find a real tailor in town and see if he or she can fix the damage she did. So if you do a search for sewing/alterations in Sierra Vista...Bos is all that comes up. Pretty sad since this town exists only because of the military base. The only reason Bos gets any business is simply because they are the ONLY place in town. If you are able to use the facilities, use the sew shop on base (something I would never recommend at any other military instillation). This place charges way too much money for the half ass work they do. It took 2 weeks for them to sew my name and badges on my ACUs. One week to mess it up completely, the other week to fix what they had done. Usually when a business like this makes a mistake (or several in this case), they will give you a break on their prices...not this place, because face it, it's not like you can go to the other end of town and have it done. read more

For basic...and I mean basic...they are adequate. I took my mess dress there to get a rank sewn on...fail. First. ..they didn't know where it went and instead of calling me, I find out on the day of pickup. I show then where it goes, and since it cannot be done by machine, she put about 2 stitches on it....you could see the thread! It would honestly blow off. I told her it needed more thread. Now, it still looks like garbage and is crooked. I am just glad I will be TDY in the near future at a location that knows how to sew these on. Avoid. read more

Worst experience ever. We dropped off my husbands brand new acus to have name/rank sewn on. Not only was it a half a$& sewing job with missing stitches and un-sewn edges but his name tape was sewn crooked and rank was upside down. When we noticed the issues they "fixed it" by cutting the name tape off and while doing so cut a hole into the actual top.... Then tried to hide mistake by sewing it way over on the side. Then when confronted with that they said to buy a new top and they would refund the cost. Which we immediately did, only to return and have them tell us they didn't have the money in the register for the refund. In addition they were three days late in completing our items because their sewing machines were broken. Complete garbage! If you don't want to re-purchase expensive army uniforms DO NOT bring anything here. read more

I think I will have ot pass on Bos. THeir service has gotten horrible. I dropped off my daughters gown for the JROTC Military Ball on Friday for a simple alteration. Was told to pick it up Monday evening. Monday evening they not only hadn't done the work but couldn't find the dress! They said come back Tuesday, I waited until Wednesday and went back. The dress was still not done and not even hung up. I went back Thursday at 2pm, the dress wasn't done! But the woman did it while I waited (simple few stitches). It took 5 minuted for her to do and she still charged me $5 for it even though I now didn't have time to have the dress cleaned and pressed before the ball on Saturday. GRRRR. Unless I'm desperate I'm through using Bos. read more

What's great about Bos? They're open on weekends. Face it, it's hard to get off work at a decent time on week days-or to even remember that you need to have something sewn or altered.The shop is no frills, but the ladies who work there are kind and do a good job. One of the worst experiences with a business I have ever had. I dropped off a dress for a Military Ball at Bo's to be hemmed April 14th. When I dropped off the dress I was assured that she was able to complete the work on the dress. I told her I had about three to four weeks before I needed the dress back and she assured me that was plenty of time ( In fact she said as long as I didn't need the dress that same week it was no problem). Four weeks later I called asking about the dress and I was told it would be ready Monday, May 8th in the morning. I called Monday morning to confirm and let them know I would be in to pick up the dress Monday afternoon after work. At first, the seamstress had no memory of my dress. I gave her name and spelled it out and described the dress but she insisted she did not have my dress (I understand there is a language barrier). Finally, I told her to look me up by my phone number and she seemed to find the dress and tell me she needed more time... almost FOUR weeks in. So I asked her how much time and she told me to pick up the dress Wednesday morning. I set a time with her and hung up. I rearranged my schedule and showed up at the agreed upon time. The women who was working didn't seem to know what dress I was talking about so I started to help her look. The dress was in the exact same spot it was left in all the way back in April. No alteration had been done, in fact, it looked like the dress had not even been touched since I dropped it off. When I asked why I was given no reason. Only to come back the next day, Thursday in the afternoon. I was very nervous at this point but because I only had a week and a half before I left I decided to give them one more chance. The next morning (Thursday morning) I called the confirm the appoint and no one would answer my calls. I went to Bo's at 5 PM for my appointment after work and found that the store was closed. As you can imagine I was livid. Today (Friday, May 12th) I showed up first thing in the morning to retrieve my dress. When I entered the store again the lady had no memory of my dress so I went a pulled it from the same spot it had been hanging for a month. Of course, once again it had not been touched. When I asked for an explanation the seamstress became upset with me and said she needed time. I reminded her that the dress had been in her shop for a month and that I was upset because I had been told it would be ready 3 times and every time I come to pick it up no work had been done on the dress. At no point did she apologize or give any explanation. She offered to have the dress done by that afternoon but at this point I honestly did not have any faith in her ability to do so. I considered accepting her offer but while I was thinking about it she walked away from me. So I grabbed my dress and left the store. Long story short, BEWARE. I think I was more than patient and fair with the owner of this shop. Not only did she waste valuable time but then she had the audacity to be mad at me for her mistakes. Honestly, her actions were irresponsible, extremely unprofessional, and disrespectful. I will never recommend this shop to anyone nor visit it again. read more

Looks like these military folks have trouble here for some reason which is odd. My experience here was great! I had taken a pair of jeans to a dry cleaner who kept them a week , never called me with a price so I called them. $15 to resew one side of the zipper in because the stitching came loose. Told her I knew it's 5 min work so then she says $12.50 which I know is a rip off. Took them to Bos and a nice Asian lady sewed it in 5 minutes=$3. read more

Gave me a date to pick up my items and when I went back on that day they we're closed! They didn't call and say they would be closed and to come pick up my stuff before hand. Plus the hours say they should be open but I see a big closed sign staring me in the face! So mad! I told them I needed this stuff cause I was getting promoted on the first and dropped it off on the 22nd. They said, AND wrote on my ticket, come back 11-30-13, Saturday. Unreliable. read more

Have used them on/off in the past for civilian clothing -- basic hemming on pants, skirts, dresses, but they are more into the military customers and uniforms, which is fine. Yes, most of them are rude. I have used Penny's Alterations to do hemming, taking in the waist on pants and dresses, etc. She does a very good job and has been able to accommodate my "rush" deadlines. I wish I could rate this place a less than 0 Star. The older Asian lady who either works the front or the whole store, is extremely rude and obnoxious to talk to. I told her she altered two pieces of my clothing wrong, and she kept arguing with me over and over that "I told you it would do that." There is no way I would have agreed to allow her to "ruin" my clothing. She also quoted me one price the day I gave her my clothes, then charged me almost $10 more than the original quote. When I started to explain to her she charged me wrong, she kept repeating over and over "I told you it would mess it up. That's the price you knew." The whole time, the younger white guy is standing there giving ME crappy looks, as if them ruining my clothing, made me the problem, not them. They were extremely fast when sewing on a few items on my asu's and acu's. i dropped them off in the morning around 9. i gave the them my phone number and asked them to call me when they were finished. i assumed they would call me the next day but, they called me around noon the same day and told me they were done. they were to standard and best of all.....affordable. i will be going there over aafes and Lloyd's. read more

One round of alterations were supposed to be done on a day they picked (I didn't need it done by any certain day). Went in, not done. They said ohh we are busy, promised it would be done later that night. I let them know I would be by first thing the morning. Surprise, still not done. Now, pissed I have wasted my time twice, I get angry. WHEN WILL BE DONE, NO BS???? Finally get it after coming back a THIRD time. Because they are the only game in town, have to drop off more. Worst experience ever. I needed the train on my gown shortened. I was given a date for pick up (10 days) and on that day the gown had not even been touched. In a rush, the seamstress said the gown would be done that night...before closing. When I went to pick up my gown, she told me that she messed up my gown. Instead of shortening the train, she shortened the whole gown...the gown was now a high-low gown. She told me that the gown would look good (I'm in my 40's and we don't wear high-low gowns) and then she told me to buy another gown like it was nothing (I ordered the gown online 2 months prior). The seamstress acted like it was nothing, knowing that I needed the gown the next day. While I was waiting for my second gown to be altered (which was a disaster because my friends had to sew me into it) I noticed that she had multiple jobs that were not completed on the days promised and uniforms went missing. Will never use them again. Bos Sewing doesn't deserve 1 star. read more
