The rooms were technologically advanced and well equipped with every necessity you might need for a comfortable stay. The bathroom was spacious also. They have fluent English speaking staff so language is no problem. I called in for an iron and it was delivered almost immediately. The only down side is that it is not close to the main part of the town so the cab fare was pretty steep and finding a cab was a challenge also. We had to catch a flight and scheduled an uber ahead of time. Scheduling an Uber is your best bet if you have to reach somewhere on time like us.

I was deciding between the Novotel or the Crowne Plaza and opted for the Crowne Plaza and I slightly regretted my choice. The hotel is not located very close to the airport (it is a about a 10 minute drive). It is also very difficult to find if you decide to drive there (I used a GPS and like some previous reviewers also found it difficult to find). There is a free shuttle to and from the airport but do note that it is note available for early mornings. I was going to use it for my morning flight (had then already returned the rental car by then) but it had not started its service then so I had to grab a cab for €20. Inside the hotel everything is clean but it is apparent that the hotel was built a while back. The furniture is a bit dated and it feels like the hotel has seen better days. The front desk staff were mostly helpful and reasonably service-minded (I am then comparing to what I expect in Italy and not to the level of service I would expect in the US or the UK). I was upgraded upon check-in (not sure why) but I still felt that the room was a bit cramped with furniture. The room had the same feeling that the rest of the hotel - it had probably been very nice when it was built but now everything felt out-dated. The bed was ok not more. I am usually not bothered by noise but I felt that the air-con was very loud as well as the noise from the high-way (doubt that it was proper double-glass windows). It did not prevent my from sleeping well but I could not fall asleep right away. There was a desk where it was possible to sit down and do some work. The Internet was ridiculously overpriced but it functioned well. A mini-bar was in the room and a plus for the coffee and tea-making facilities as well as a complimentary bottle of water. The bathroom was nice and all the standard toiletries where provided and an extra plus for providing mouth wash in a small travel sized bottle. Do avoid eating anything at the hotel. I had the breakfast buffet and the hot food was appalling. The cold food was just plain boring (dry bread, and some strange tasting ham). The coffee was not very good but I have come to expect that from Italian hotels. For dinner I was intending on going somewhere else but it was a bit late for that when I was ready for dinner so I was going to try out the a la carte restaurant but it was of course closed for summer - had to

I really needed an early check-in and they were able to swing that for me with my Marriott Lifetime Gold Status. The room was nice and had wooden floors. Nothing special but had everything I needed. I was invited to attend the grand opening celebration, Urban Oasis, and got to see the different areas of the hotel including restaurants and the pool area. Not bad for free food and all-you-can-drink event. This hotel has two restaurants to choose from: Silene Bar and El Patio del Gaucho. The service was friendly here but had a few issues: 1) Hotel bacon is terrible and breakfast as whole was not great. 2) Incorrect point total was credited for my stay (clerical) which took excessive follow-up attempts on my end and was finally resolved after several weeks. FYI... I really needed some Euros but there was not much in terms of change service in the area. I had to take a cab (50 Euro round trip) to change dollars in the city center. There was a subway option but a transfer was needed and still looking at 25 - 30 minutes. 3.5 stars!

Breakfast was comprehensive and delicious, with a variety of fruit juices, pastries, bacon and eggs, coffee--what you would expect from a European breakfast. It kind of pains me to have to give such a friendly place a 3-star review, but there were some pieces that were lacking for me. There was confusion on the difference between a "naked" vs a standard room (lol). I wish this part was better explained on the website, but needless to say, my friend and I requested a switch for a standard room. For the inconvenience, they kindly offered a bottle of Prosecco on the house. The rooms are COLD. Thermostats were locked at a certain temperature, and despite fully locking our doors, it felt like cold air was still coming in. All the rooms on the second floor are exposed to an outdoor balcony, so ensuring the rooms are warm enough is key! The hotel is located a bit far from the city center (~30-min drive), though it is close to a bus stop. I guess this part isn't the fault of the hotel, but in hindsight, I would have picked a place closer to the center of Milan. Finally, the water temperature for both the sink and shower felt hard to control. I remembered the water either being piping hot, or icy cold (hardly a reasonable in-between), and it made taking a shower or even washing my hands feel uncomfortable. Overall, it wasn't the best (or the worst) experience. But there are reasons I'd want to stay elsewhere if I'm ever back in the future.

They were also able to store our luggage for a few days as we left to visit another city and returned later in the week. The hotel is located close to Via Montenapoleone and the main shopping areas in Milan. It is only one stop away from Duomo as well. They can reserve fixed price taxis to both Linate and Malpensa (120 euros for Malpensa, while reserving an Uber in advance would have been about 145) airports. Our initial room had a very small and cramped bathroom. The second room had a much larger bathroom though, the shower did not drain well so it sometimes smelled a bit musty. Beware of mosquitoes if you leave the door to the outside/window open as there was no screen.
