TLDR: do not hire for anything other than spot repairs for leaking roofs…read more So we hired this company to repair a leak coming down in our garage. Sales person came out for review to make an assessment on what would be involved. In the conversation they offered to clean the roof, I told them there's a lot of moss up there and they said they could easily do that. Oh they cleaned something, just not the whole roof. They got the entire north side of my house covered in caked on globs of dirt. This included everything around there like my A/C exterior fan unit, my trash bins, my shed, my storage lockers and my deck boxes. They left a hose, my hose, on the roof and running all night long until my wife spotted it the next morning. My front hose was also used, I know this because instant of rolling it back up using the roll they just left it all piled up at the corner of my house. Now told them about this, and the person who responds just always says they'll get in touch with their "experts" and let me know. Eventually they came back to finish cleaning the roof and clean up the mess on the side of the house. They came and went then I got home and checked, looked like they took about two seconds to clean some of the side but ran off to their next project. It was in no way clean or even in the condition it was in prior to their work. As for the roof being cleaned and moss control applied, I can't get all the way up on the 2nd floor roof to know but my HVAC company came out to do some other work related to "Smokey cedar smell in air ducts, & they climbed up to the 2x!: floor and took photos. There was no moss control applied on the 2nd floor roof and miss was growing everywhere on the west back side, yes this was the very next day after M&H came. Cleaning and moss control were services we agreed M&H would do.m, but they clearly didn't yet still charged me for it. Oh and that donkey cedar smell? Sawdust in the HVAC exhaust line from roof & vent repairs. So basically the roofing company offered a series of services they never fully executed. I had to hire a different company to complete the gutter work and re-clean the lower & upper roofs and apply moss control up on the 2nd roof. Then I had to clean out my HVAC vents, and I had to wash and scrub the exterior of my house. How are they still in business is beyond me.

There are far too many shady contractors out there! A lot of contractors seem more interested in making money than actually looking out for their customers. Here's a perfect example: I run property management for rental homes in Washington, and one of my client's properties is in DuPont. The neighbor recently paid over $9,000 for a full roof replacement, with all kinds of "discounts." The roofing company convinced the owner that their roof was in terrible condition. The neighbor even told me that the contractor claimed my client's roof was in the same bad shape, with a quarter of the shingles supposedly missing. They even put a big yard sign in between the houses! I told the homeowner what the neighbor said, but I also advised them not to rush into anything until I had a chance to inspect it myself. Now, I hadn't flown my drone in over six months, and during a test flight, a strong gust of wind blew it away. Thankfully, I have a 35-foot carbon fiber pole with an HD camera for situations like this. After inspecting the roof, I found that only four shingles were missing - the rest of the roof was in excellent shape with many years of life left. I reached out to several roofing companies for a repair quote, sending them photos of the missing shingles. They all wanted to charge nearly $2,300 just to replace those four to six shingles! Their excuse? The cost of bringing out "equipment" and "insurance." I guess they must be smoking a lot of weed in their offices to come up with those prices. After relaying this to my client, I contacted Veterans Roofing, who I've worked with before and trust. They came out, confirmed five shingles were missing, and found some poor workmanship from the original builder. Not only did they replace the shingles, but they also corrected and repaired the areas where the original company had cut corners. If you need roofing repairs or replacement, I highly recommend VETERANS ROOFING. Give them a call - you won't regret having a good friend on your side!

We were made aware it would be a while before they could get out due to other obligations. We were fine with that. The roof was cleaned November 2024, and they did a good job. The person we spoke to said they weren't sure if someone could come out that day. We waited three weeks while water was coming into our living room every time it rained for a call back. We had to hire another roofing company to fix the leak. They fixed it in three days. We still have to fix the water damage. Then we got a text in January 2026 asking if we still needed to have someone fix our leak....seriously?!

Bayside installed the new roof Monday, and they did a fantastic job at a very fair price. To give you an idea of how fair, the price for materials and labor for a metal roof from Bayside was the same as the estimate from one of the other local roofing companies for an asphalt shingled roof. (If you haven't priced roofs lately, metal roofs generally cost at least twice as much as asphalt shingled roofs). Omar is a super-nice guy and very knowledgeable, not only about roofing but all the related issues that come up: rain gutters, working around the electrical service drop and internet cables, etc. His team is professional and they take pride in their work. I was impressed by how efficiently everything went, from the estimate, to ordering the panels, to the tear-down and installation. The only slow part of the process was me taking a while to decide on the color of the panels; I went with a dark brown ("Midnight Bronze"), which ended up being a good choice. Although we replaced the old garage roof for functional reasons, the new roof is beautiful and improves the look of our property. When the time comes to replace the roof of our house itself (which will get a matching metal roof), I will definitely call Bayside. Thanks, Omar!

I still think it's important for prospective customers to have upfront expectations. I submitted an online request for a free estimate. The office called and set up the appt. On the day of, Jeremy texted to confirm and then when he was en route. He showed up, I explained and showed him a place where a leak occurred and that's what made us decide to replace. We discussed new architectural asphalt shingles. He was then going to go outside, check on the roof and afterwards into the attic from which he'd work an estimate. He said he could then meet with me or schedule the next day to meet, for an hour or even just 45 minutes. I work M-F and said I did not need a "sales pitch", I have some working/DIY knowledge of projects, materials and bidding. He then suggested next week. I declined saying it's not necessary. He said there's no reason then for him to proceed with doing the work if I wasn't going to meet afterwards. I was quite surprised. I said "okay, I'll pass" and he said 'thank you' and left. I've had two full estimates from two OTHER, reputable Roofing companies last week, no sales push. They went on the roof, walked the perimeter, sat in their cars and sent the estimates to my email and phone. Not sure why Patriot INSISTS on a sales meeting! Disappointed.
