I brought in two expensive parkas for dry cleaning and they were returned with a strong, foul odor that absolutely was not there when I dropped them off. When I brought the issue to their attention, I was told to come back in two days. When I returned, the coats were still hanging on the same rack where they had been left two days earlier, still smelling terrible. It was obvious they had never even been sent out for re-cleaning. Over the next week and a half, I repeatedly called and was told they needed more time. Eventually, the coats were returned and the odor was finally gone. However, when I asked for a discount or some form of compensation for the inconvenience and the fact that they had caused the problem in the first place, the owner, Albert, simply insisted that "they got the smell out." When I pointed out that the coats were not dropped off smelling that way and that the problem was created by their service, he refused to take responsibility. The best he offered was a discount on a future service. After five years as a loyal customer, that was the extent of their customer service. Mistakes happen. What matters is how a business responds when they do. In this case, there was poor communication, a lack of accountability, and no effort to make things right. I won't be returning, and based on my experience, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

My only beef is that over time, the whites in my laundry have gone dingy, suggesting they have some laundry people on staff who aren't separating the lights from darks. They are also not using whites brighteners, like OxyClean, which i now give them myself with instructions. While this has been frustrating, I could never dock Apple a star as they are truly the kindest people around. Also, they send their laundry out to a service, so I suggested to them that they maybe find a more pro partner. But it's no biggie. I'll just keep giving them my own OxyClean pods until things change. Grateful that they are in the neighborhood!

One time, I got an entire order back smelling of cigarettes. After denying it, they told me the driver had been smoking in the car, but refused to refund it. I spoke with the owner 4 times about my past order, which he kept promising would be taken care of. Finally, when I asked when he'd be picking up the stuff that wasn't laundered properly, as he'd promised he would do, he yelled at me saying, "There are no guarantees in life. They did my business shirts for 15 years with zero problems, dry cleaning my suits and Hawaiian shirts fine (a bit pricey, more than I expected, but no complaints with the work). Also, basic alterations of suits & pants (hems, let out trousers, etc.) have been very good indeed, always done on time and pretty reasonable. Chung will tell you if he can't do it. The service is pretty quick, a week or less. Happy to recommend them, really I'd say 4-1/2 stars and would go to 5 stars if the silk shirt dry cleaning was more in line with other cleaners.
