I decided to write this review after I just learned they contacted MUSC, not me, to deny me because I'm out of network. This took them A WEEK, wasting valuable time. Clearly, my life seems to have no value to them. This is unacceptable patient care and unprofessional. I can afford to pay out of pocket, but I will absolutely not give them money if this is how they treat people who need immediate care. I would advise others to avoid them as well. Cost doesn't matter when a doctor and staff show compassion and professionalism, and truly value your health and life.

He said he would be able to prescribe a medicine if I had a flare-up. A few months later, when I did have a flare-up, he said he would not prescribe the medicine because it would take too many man hours. I have since found a wonderful doctor in Savannah who is wonderful!!

6-19-24 Had an…read moreappointment at this office for my annual body check. First time here as I am new to the area and my primary doctor referred me here. After a checking they noticed a something suspicious on my back. Oddly enough it was located next to where I had a melanoma removed 30 years ago. The biopsy came back that I have melanoma again but they caught it thankfully in its early stages. They followed up with an appointment to remove a larger area so that they got it all. That will take place end of the month at their Hilton Head location. Next they scheduled appointments every three months for the next year to do checks on my body. I think they have done an excellent job catching it so soon and their plan to get ahead of it is wonderful. Thankful that they are very detailed and got it early.

I was diagnosed by Dr. Dean with shoulder arthritis in March 2022, after an MRI for shoulder pain…read more He told me that activity would not further damage it, it would just increase the pain. About a month later, I went on a family cruise, lifting luggage and my 14-month-old grandbaby repeatedly each day. By the time I got home, the pain was much more severe and had moved from the top of my shoulder down my bicep. I could no longer play tennis with the level of pain and weakness in the arm. I called Dr. Dean, who didn't return my calls until the 4th attempt, and told him that my symptoms had changed noticeably after the cruise and frequent baby lifting. He said it was just the arthritis and that it was referred pain down the arm. I insisted that the pain was of a markedly different quality and intensity, yet he did not so much as ask me to come in for a follow up, arrogantly stating that he had been doing this for decades and was telling me it was just the arthritis. Long story short, I went to the Hospital for Special Surgery in NY for arthroscopic surgery. Turns out, aside from the arthritis, my bicep was completely shredded and hanging on by a thread!! Dr. Dean should be less ego-involved and listen more closely to his patients, instead of assuming he knows everything and is always right.
