Aww man! Late night eat spot known for its generous portions unique burgers, shakes, and loaded fries. It's good for groups, usually packed but easy to get a table. Very reminiscent of a college dining room, not really the spot if your looking for privacy but let's be honest we're hear to ogle frappes. Honestly, one of the the most unique milkshake/frappe blends in the region unless your gonna hall your fat azz down to Elm Street Diner in Connecticut but let's be honest. It was hard enough just walking in. The service was quick and efficient. The waiters will always run down a list of special themed frappe burgers and fries when you come in. But even as recovering big backs it was super difficult for two of us to finish a Dough My Goodness Frappe and the clam Chowder Loaded fries. Can't really go wrong with your pick. Boston Burger Company absolutely lived up to the hype. Seeing Guy Fieri on the wall and smelling the food, we knew we were in the right place--and it delivered. The "Veramonster" Smash Burger was unreal (honey mayo, apples, caramel, bacon/cheddar. I love seafood , so I had to try their clam "chowda", which had crispy bacon on top. For $8, the cup have been a lot bigger.‍ The sampler sealed it for me, though. Came here for the $3 smash burgers after 10pm and this place did not disappoint. I'd recommend getting there early -- tables filled up very quick even for a weekday night. Servers were nice and got our orders sent out fast. I was expecting the burgers to be of lesser quality considering the price, but they were so delicious. While it wasn't any crazy new flavor I haven't tasted before at a burger joint, every ingredient (especially the sauce!) was great. Overall: this is a review for BBC late night and I must say it's not bad! Food: $3 smash burgers come with only buns, patties, pickles, smash sauce, and maybe some onions. It's a very minimalist burger but not quite as small as a slider. Requires a drink to order it but it's not a bad deal if you want a top off at 10pm. The 6 chicken tenders for $12 is really not bad tho. The tenders are not your typical fast food tenders and seem like real chicken tenders. They have a bit of juice and are well fried to crispy. The sauce it comes with a pretty good. Lastly their fries are in between regular fries and steak fries. A little more potato in your average fry but not too much potato so as to get soggy. Ambience/Decor/Service: fairly quick service, no fuss, and fairly busy at late night. The interior design maintains the old diner look without the 70s diner colors paying homage instead to the Harvard crimson. Very good choice! read more

They do have a lot of interesting combinations but for me it's difficult to take things off and put things on, so make your own make life easier for yourself. I did try The poutine wasn't a fan. I would have a hard time not getting the Roots Burger again. We asked to try a couple sauces on the side too, that was no problem, and they were all great. The FRIES! Get the fries. We popped in because we saw the owners vid reels on socials. Had to try and must say it was worth it! Now the staff who were on the night we went were both super nice and tried to get everyone's orders and drinks out efficiently, mad house with college crowd late night. Glad we went on a Sunday, wasn't as crowded when we got there, then the groups starting flowing in. Ofc we went for their new promo specific to Cambridge's location! I must say, very impressed, for $2 you get full 1/4lb patty smash burgers with onions, pickles, cheese on a burger bun that tastes and textually almost like Hawaiian king bread that everyone knows. Plus 1000 island dressing. They were all well seasoned, easy to eat and yes we each put down 3 each (saved our stomachs for this). The strawberry shortcake the lady wanted, cake was good, not dry, and the shake was tasty tho a bit sweet for me but as long as she's happy! Extremely disappointing experience. I showed up at 12:38 a.m., with 22 minutes left before the posted 1:00 a.m. closing time, and was refused service. If you're not going to serve customers that close to closing, then your posted hours are misleading. Either close earlier or clearly state when the kitchen stops taking orders. I made the trip expecting to get something to eat, only to be turned away while the restaurant was still supposed to be open. As a customer, that's frustrating and feels like a complete waste of time. I left hungry and disappointed. Customer service is about honoring the hours you advertise or at least communicating them clearly. Based on this experience, I can't recommend this location. read more

We decided to take a trip to Cambridge tonight for their $2 smash burger special that is available from 10pm-1am, daily! You do need to order a drink (doesn't have to be alcoholic) to get this deal for the burgers. ***$2 smash burgers are only offered at the Cambridge location*** We ended up ordering 6 smash burgers, a ginger ale, & a strawberry shortcake milkshake. The milkshakes from here could totally be meals themselves haha. The strawberry shortcake milkshake comes with a shortcake on top of the cup with lots of whipped cream. The smash burgers were great! Loved the cheese, onions, and pickles it came with. Much better than getting McDonald's, especially for the price of $2/each! I would definitely come back again for the smash burger deal. City feeling burger place right off of Harvard Square! Everyone was very kind and the service was extremely quick. We had two burgers and it was delicious, thought definitely a little hard to eat because it was so big haha. The chips are really good as well. They have a variety of hamburgers. I had a hamburger called a burger bomb. I sat at the bar where I was presented with a menu upon sitting down. That's one way to make sure I am there for food not just a beer. The bartender asked me if I wanted my burger smashed or traditional. Smashed is two thin patties while traditional is a thicker burger. The smashed is 5.00 more. I went with the traditional version. The burger bomb had peppers, mushrooms, onions and cheese. It was delicious and if I had the chance, I would recommend it. I also had onion rings At 10.00, I thought they were overprced. I would return again if I were in the mood for a cheeseburger. Pretty solid burger option that I'm glad I tried, but I'm not super inclined to eat here again. The food was good, but there are better options. The bruschetta fries were really good and I liked that unique approach and variety of loaded fries! The burgers though is kind of what brings this down for me. Our server was nice, made a lot of jokes, and was super personable, but he didn't write anything down and went off memory to take our orders, causing him to forget toppings and/or give us entirely wrong sides. Honestly, I think for me it was just a one and done experience. The food was middle of the road, but the menu was very creative. Lots to choose from here. I will say the bathroom and the back rooms (that the bathroom is in), are not the cleanest or most organized, so I am note sure. I ordered the Big Papi burger and my girlfriend got the Burger Bomb, both in smash burger form. We had made some modifications to the burger, and the waiter did not use a notepad to write them down, and alas, not all of our modifications were honored. My burger was okay, but was missing the cheese I ordered. I also asked for a side of beans, but was given coleslaw because my girlfriend asked for coleslaw. I was brought the beans later on, and they were pretty good! Overall, I'm happy we tried it, but I think there are plenty of other tastier burger joints in the Harvard square. read more

Honestly I feel like their quality and worth has gone down a lot in the last few years. The sandwiches were just okay and the chicken sandwiches were better than the burger actually. Our server was new and she messed up one of the orders (thought was ordered the plate version instead of the sandwich version) so 2 of us got our food first and the third person had to wait another 15 minutes for her food to come out. All we got was a brief apology and so everyone else's food was cold by the time we all started eating. Plenty of seating, including outdoor seating, but it just felt a bit dingy and grungy. My girlfriend and I drove from Maine to visit Boston Burger Company (Boston location, not Cambridge as listed) and brought my Scottish friend after picking him up from Logan Airport last Thursday. We loved it so much that we went back today when we took my buddy back to the airport. The first time, I got the Alpine burger which was perfect. This go round, I got the monthly special. For the life of me, I can not tell you why, but I straight up got emotional eating both burgers. I'm not even ashamed to admit that as a grown man. I ordered the All American Burger which came with the house chips and I was happy with my selection. I requested for the patty to be cooked medium well and I think it was perfect. I wish there was a bit more blue cheese, BBQ, lettuce, and that the bacon was crispier. I think the patty was pretty thick and not dry which is hard to master when cooked longer. This is a fun place to come in person-- I love seeing their super stacked burgers and their milkshakes are a work of art. Their menu is fun to explore but I see this spot as one that I try once in my life. I ordered the All American through delivery ($13.5: American cheese, BBQ sauce, bacon, blue cheese, lettuce, tomato) with chips and coleslaw on the side. Everything was very soft and kind of mushy... even if they toasted the bun, it did not seem that way. There was barely a sear on the patty. The patty was drenched in so much sauce that every bite mostly tasted like BBQ sauce. I barely tasted any flavor from the meat itself. Their chips, however, are amazing. They are perfectly seasoned, crispy, and crunchy. The coleslaw has a heavy mayo-to-cabbage ratio and is sweet, but not in a bad way. I also wanted fries so I ordered their classic wedge fries ($7). Boston Burger company is famous for its excess, but underneath all of the show and gaudy menu items there is a rock solid foundation for American fare is it should be done. I'm not one for loaded fries, 1k+ calorie shakes, or burgers with more than say... 4 toppings (I'm a burger purist). That big, flashy, calorie-bomb is Boston Burger's focus, and while I can appreciate that kind of stance it is not something that I was in the mood for during our visit. For me, I'm a keep it simple: bun, patty, cheese, lettuce, onion, pickle, mayo (on side), and ketchup (on side). That is how I measure a burger place, not how many toppings can be piled on to hide potentially subpar execution of the actual menu item. So, I had a simple cheeseburger as described above with their seasoned fries on the side. Everything we ordered and got was as expected, for the price point. It was a good meal, nothing blew us away but there was also nothing to complain about (hence the 3 star "OK" rating). The fries were crisp, and the burger was done well (not well done :P), and the toppings were fresh and crisp. It fell on the spectrum between my experience (same order) of Red Robin and Zinburger, putting it on par with say a Wahlburgers experience which is nothing bad if that is what you are looking for. At the end of the day - under all the show, glitz, flash, and excess Boston Burger has a great foundation for everything on their menu. I would not say it is the best burger/shake you will ever have, but you shouldn't leave disappointed at the price point. I will return to have my typical burger and a side of fries if I'm in the mood (and area), but I wouldn't go out of my way or make a special trip for what they specialize in. read more
