Delicious! I was in Cambridge for a quick trip and this establishment was in walking distance. I love fried clam strips so I figured I'd give them a try. I was able to call in ahead of time for my order and they said it would be ready in about 15 minutes. The timing was spot on and I was able to grab and go once I arrived. The inside is a bit small where they cook all the food but there is additional seating and a bar on the other side. The food was piping hot and delicious. It came with fries, slaw, and a homemade tartar sauce. I know the other selections are just as good. read more

This is an unassuming establishment that I walk past on a weekly basis. I finally made it a point to try it out. I ordered a pick up order over the phone, since I really wanted a fried clam plate, but it wasn't an option on their internet ordering platform. The pickup process was pretty smooth, I was given an order number over the phone but didn't even need to use it when I picked up my food. The interior of the restaurant itself wasn't anything flashy, it probably had more of a old diner cafeteria type vibe. There were a few tables outside as well. I got the fried clam plate, fried calamari plate, and a Greek salad. The fried clam plate is market priced. There was a generous portion of fried clam bellies and they were pretty sizable too. The calamari was really tender and also served in a generous portion. The fries that came with the fried seafood were really good, they had an extra crispy coating. These two orders also came with some tartar sauce and cole slaw. Overall, food was great and the portions were generous. Would return for more take out but probably not for dining in. read more

Everyone there was very nice - seems like a locals only kind of place which I like - I got the fish and chips and it was OK BUT for $19 I expected a bit better - $5 Budweisers were good! - -at the end of the meal it was very hard to pay - tried for over a half an hour to finally close out and when I did I was charged for an $11.50 Hennessy, which I did not order nor get - they had already run my card and I would have to wait for them to cancel the charge and re-charge me - I was getting close to being late for work and I had to get out of there, so I told them just to keep the $1150 as a generous tip on what should've been a $30 meal food was a "3" at best - sorry to leave this review as everyone was nice read more

I don't even know where to begin with this place. There are two separate entrances and I first thought it was just a pizza shop and turned around and left. I saw additional signage a little farther down the storefront and entered the bar area. There was one person seated at a table eating, a bartender and what appeared to be a waiter inside. I sat down at the bar and nobody came over for over 2-3 minutes despite the waiter looking right at me. The person seated at the table all of a sudden starts mumbling and yelling at the waiter and bartender that I was at the bar and the waiter just goes "yea I know" and continues talking to the bartender. Eventually the bartender came over and got my drink order. She actually couldn't have been nicer. It was just a weird environment, I get it was clearly dead in this place but the waiter was just playing his playlist of crappy mumble rap that was unbearable to listen to. The beer was barely cool and I honestly kept checking the bar mirror every time I heard somebody move behind me. The waiter kept talking about people coming into the bar that needed to show him respect and how he could beat them up. Weird vibe all around. A great place to pick up a quick and cheap week night dinner as a fast food alternative. I'm not sure if eating here is healthier than McDonalds, but you sure get better food! I've been here so many time and never tried their pizza, so I cannot comment on that. My favorite was fish and chips! Comes with my kind of tartar sauce. Their pizza is good, but when I went there this week multiple people behind the counter had their masks under their chins, which is really unsafe with the current intensity of the pandemic. Riverside Pizza is one of those places that every neighborhood needs. You can get pizza, hamburgers, a sub, pasta, onion rings or fries. There are lots of choices and the prices are great. I stopped by with a huge appetite and ordered a large Italian sub with a small order of fries and I had enough for two meals. They make the food in about 10-15 minutes and you can pay by credit card and be on your way. The Italian sub was well made and the amount of fries in a small order is generous. There is seating at Riverside or you can take it to go, which I elected to do. I am not sure how late they are open, but this is another great spot for after the bars or clubs. read more

A busy, cozy diner with decent food. It is not spectacular but generally good diner fare. I have been several times over a two-year period. Fast service. The pastas are okay but not great. The hamburgers and cheeseburgers are average diner-style burgers served with crispy but inconsistent fries in terms of size and how they turn out. A decent but not exceptional burger. When ordering for take away, the quality can vary, such as the time several burgers were ordered with mustard, ketchup, and pickles on the side and all three were instead put on and the buns were misshapen and crushed down and the lettuce haphazardly placed half on and half off the burger. Not bad if you are craving simple diner style food for $10-20 for a main meal. read more

I've gone in there twice just to grab a beer. I like neighborhood bars. I grew up around here and I'll always choose one over some overpriced fancy/hip bar. All dive bars have their crew of crusty (ha, pizza shop... get it?) regulars that might take a minute to warm up to, but you could pretty much tell that unless you graduated from Rindge no more than 5 years after anybody in there, or work for the DPW or something, then you might as well not exist to them. The clientele usually includes some cops, some children wearing their Sunday dresses on a Wednesday at 11pm, some old dudes playing Keno, and other neighborhood denizens hanging out in the salmon-colored plastic booths. The chicken parm and meatball subs are pretty good, although I hate to think about how many days worth of calories and fat each one contains. The pizza is amazingly greasy and not worth trying. The establishment itself has two sides, a bar, and a restaurant. the bar smells like a porta potty, sort of. I don't know how to describe it, but it isn't a bad smell. The restaurant smells like a bowladrome and filled with regulars and cops. I saw three cops when we were in there munching on various fried goods from the menu. They looked happy! AMAZING. The service is awesome, very friendly, very kind, and they make sure you get your order how you want it. The sub was great, the pizza was great, and it's filled with regulars. I couldn't ask for more. I don't know why this would not get 5 stars. It's cheap and it's good, the service is good too. I lived next door to Riverside Pizza for 3 years. I ate many sandwiches and pizzas at the joint. They make a solid meatball sub. Their pizzas are good. The reviews aren't kidding when they say Riverside Pizza/Seafood is a "hometown" spot! I went here for the first time around suppertime (since living right down the street) a few weeks ago. After I ordered my sub (a simple tuna with cheese) I sat down and just observed the place. At least five patrons (is that an obsolete word?) came in and began talking to the owner. They were updating the guy about their family and how their day went. It was cute. The other people seemed like they have lived in Cambridgeport their whole lives. What I'm trying to say here is that I think the bar scene would be super lame. Anyways, on to the food: no complaints. I mean, how can one screw up a tuna sub? It took long to prepare, though. Not sure how this place gets such great reviews unless they are faked. For $9 a large Italian sub with "everything" on it includes a couple slices of meat, onions, lettuce, and tomato. No cheese, sauces or other typical toppings. It was my first time eating here and I likely will not be going back. The pepperoni side was just OK and the mushroom side had canned mushrooms and wasn't as tasty. Overall pizza was not as amazing to me as it was to other reviewers. Could not get served, could not get even a drink water accomplished and after about 30 minutes we left very disappointed because we had work to do and were taking a lunch break Wasted an hour between the trip there waiting and then the trip back and had no food or beverage. I am disabled. We use the entrance for the bar side because the restaurants that didn't look as accessible we were thinking about Broiled seafood and Greek salad.
