I have been doing business with Patrick for 20 years or more. Which should say it all. He has sold and serviced my computer equipment.. Modems..switches.. printers.. yadayada....laptops..desktops. I purchased another used laptop from Boston Data Systems. I have to update this review to mention repairs and tune-ups in the past years of dealing with Boston Data were preformed in a timely fashion for a very reasonable cost. You can get a new computer at the big box stores and deal with the Geek Squads or return it when there's a glitch and they will send it out to be fixed for $$$$$. Or, you can go to a place that fixes your machine in house for a price you can afford and if it is old and beyond repair they will find you another computer that is affordable and works just fine. Nothing lasts forever and with so many nasty little viruses out there in cyberspace that are always lurking, one or two are bound to find their way in. I first found them nearly 40 years ago at the rotary in Seabrook. I've bought several computers from him over the years and have called for advice on several occasions. My only complaint?? I went to the shop the day after Christmas to look at laptops at 4:30 and the shop was closed. Not sure that's a complaint. Merry Christmas Pat- hopefully you have what I'm looking for. read more

This place is terrible. Not sure how it has stayed open for so many years but it just seems like they "bandaid" fix your pc and hope you dont come back...not me! But in the end it cost an arm & leg to get the same outcome i should have recieved with the 1st visit. I am highly suspicious of the negative reports here. Boston Data Systems knows their stuff and stands behind what they do 100%. Prior to becoming a customer, the Owner always answered my questions about my employer-issued crappy computer for no charge. He tries to provide the most bang for the buck for people who really can't afford to spend lots of money. And this is the only place to go with your ailing ancient computer that you love. He most likely will have recycled, but tested, good parts for it. I bought two computers--brand new ones--from him this year and can attest that he does try to educate his customers on what they have to do as responsible computer owners regarding regularly running the free security programs he has loaded. They ignore those instructions at their own risk, but he will still clean up their infected units at a very reasonable price. This company practices patience as well as sympathy for the techno-impaired and techno-resistant among us and are unbelievably helpful. Rare in today's computer world of techno-snobs who seemingly enjoy rubbing our noses in what we don't know. The "rest of us" can get affordable help here. read more

I have know the owner, Pat, for 9 years. He originally built a computer for me. The computer is still running. I have brought the computer back a couple times because virus/malware issues. He has always treated me fairly and his turn around time is terrific. The computer repair business is plagued with so called experts and people that like to convince you that the computer is far worst then it really is. Pat ( owner) is an honest and trustworthy person. He knows the computer and computer repair business better then anyone in the seacoast area.Do not hesitant to call him for any of your computer needs. read more

The owner is unethical. Computer we bought from him did not work properly after two days. He would not give us a full refund insisting that we put viruses on the computer. Patrick is perfect!! Been doing business with him for at least ten years. He is honest, hard working, very fair-minded. If there is any problem with any computer, he fixes them promptly and properly. Many times giving one a financial break in doing so. If anyone writes a negative review about him or his business practice, they are doing so for the wrong reasons, To benefit themselves financially so they will not have to pay full price perhaps.Or out of spite because they broke the repair computer themselves or their kids, and then tried to get out of the deal. And blame Pat. Fairness goes both ways. When one purchases an item, he must be honest if anything goes wrong due to their doing. Same is true for Pat. And never once since I have known him, did he every go back on his word. But tried to fix fairly any problems one may have had with anyone of his computers. We should support the small business person and not try to be so negative, and blame Pat when it is their fault to begin with. read more
