I called Arlmont to have my windshield replaced, and they were able to do it same-day.

Capital Glass is a Division of General Glass…read more https://www.generalglassandmirror.com/capital-glass-and-mirror/ I had scheduled with Capital Glass for a window repair and during the scheduling call had gone over the building's commercial vs residential status. I had been clear I was the owner of the condo unit and agreed on a date. On the day of work, the scheduled worker called me on an unidentified number to confirm the entry method and I provided detailed instructions. But for some reason instead of going to the unit or even having the courtesy to cancel the appointment he just left instead. After calling them I was told they don't service residential customers and thought I was calling on behalf an investment company. When I asked why it mattered they brushed me off and said they don't serve residential customers. When I explained the building was commercial and I had been clear I during the scheduling call I was the condo owner they stated they don't serve residential customers and didn't even suggest to call General Glass. As a customer, this has to be one of the worst customer experiences one could experience. Especially since this company has a residential and commercial service arm. But the commercial service not only refused a pre-scheduled service, but didn't even offer to refer to the residential service.

The company I work for is an apartment community. Capital Glass was called over a month ago to…read moreschedule for a window to be replaced in one of our apartments that had been rented. The apartment was vacant for at least 30-days allowing more than enough time for Capital Glass to come and replace the window. There is a hole in the window. When the new residents moved in, the window still had not been replaced. I called and spoke with someone by the name of Claire at Capital Glass who in turn would say she had to get a message to a Tom. I called two times last week and spoke with Claire both times who always said she had to leave a message for Tom. The third time I called was on Thursday at 4:30pm and their office was closed. I left a not so nice message. I then received a message on that Friday that they would be here the week of the 29th - this past week. I was told they would call one day ahead to warn us they were coming so we in turn could call the residents and let them know. At the time they called to confirm, they said they would be here in the morning and just in case they arrived before we opened, could I give them our service tech's phone number, which I did. Well they just called my service tech at 2:38pm, the day of, to say they couldn't make it today and would call back next week to reschedule. I cannot believe they couldn't even call our office! Not only that but I called their office right after that and their office was closed! Who closes at 2:30pm in the afternoon?! I am so annoyed with this company for getting the runaround! They didn't even have the decency to call our office to cancel! I then had to turn around and call the resident.....again and apologize because Capital Glass can't get their act together. I now have to wait until next week to reschedule and hope they can come out next week. I don't recommend using this company at all since they are so unreliable.

You ever have a basement window just....sporadically shatter for no apparent reason? Well,…read moreevidently this is just a thing that randomly occurs in this part of town. The last time I had glass shatter spontaneously was back in '24 when our winter storm door screen was completely pulverized by the summer heat, it seems (Pro-life tip: swap out your storm door screens in the summer with mesh ones). On the back of that unforeseen devastation, out went my mass inquiries to all the local shops servicing the Nashua area. Out of maybe 5 (?), 3 responded almost instantly. One sent a quote so high, I was half tempted to reply and ask if I could have some of whatever they were smoking. Another replied with what seemed to be a promising rate, but there was one problem. Their communication was severely intermittent to the point where they inexplicably ghosted me faster than a recruiter responding to a job applicant. Ultimately, I settled on Good Window Works. They offered a fair quote, were easy to get ahold of, and even provided a COI statement as per the request of our housing board. For those unaware, a COI is a Certificate of Insurance. Basically, it's assurance to the board that the contractor in question is insured to complete the job without creating a liability if they, say....jam their thumb beneath a tack hammer or something. With those formalities out of the way, the job was simple enough: Replace the half of the basement window that abruptly disintegrated. All in all, the job took roughly 2 hours. In the end, the window he installed was so transparent, it looked like there was no pane at all in the frame. But no--the glass was just THAT pristine! I don't say this often, but....experiences like these are what I love most about being a Yelp writer. So rarely do I get to be in the position to not only promote another hard working local business, but also pose as the microcosmic advertising vehicle that just might serve as the prompt some very fortunate individual needs to go, "Yeah, I'm hiring this place to work on my house". If you're wondering whether you should hire these guys for your next installation or repair job, the answer is likely yes. Good Window Works is worth 5 window panes clearer than thin air out of 5.

I had a window with a broken pane on the third floor attic. I called several places, including one…read moreI've used for years for glass and screen repair. Only Good Windows responded and sent someone out to do an estimate. They just finished the job. The original estimate was done from the ground, however when the technician was able to get the unit out of the frame, (This is an old style window), we both saw that additional work had to be done. The tech did the work and did an excellent job. It was only a bit more over the original estimate, but quite reasonable. I highly recommend Good Window Works.
