My 2017 iPhone 7+ had a shattered screen and a fading battery. I called this shop based on the positive Yelp reviews, confirmed that parking would be a breeze due to COVID and that they were not too busy, and zipped down there. The technician was crisp and articulate and had none of that slightly sketchy vibe I have encountered at some other places. He said the repair would take 30 minutes. They are fantastic! My computer got pretty bad water damage, but they repaired significantly faster and for a lower price than the Apple Store, and their other competitors. Within a week and a half, I had my laptop back and it works perfectly. Their costumer service is also fantastic. 150% this was all my fault. I had watched a scary movie before bed, and got an absolute crap night sleep. Halfway through the night I woke up and thought I heard and saw something in my room. My reaction was to pick up the closest thing to me and frisbee chuck it at what i thought was an intruder. Needless to say, it wasn't an intruder, and what I thought was a water bottle or a book that was on my bedside table, turned out to be my iPad 2. By some grace of god, only the screen had cracked, and everything else worked fine. My GPS stopped working. I don't just mean Waze, I mean all navigation apps. I thought I could get by without them for a while but a short visit to Boston proved otherwise. Fortunately I checked my trusty Yelp app and found a place with 230 reviews and 5 stars!!! I emailed Boston iPhone Repair for a quote after 7pm and still received a speedy response from Ned with a reasonable price quote. The following day I found my way to Boston iPhone Repair. Marced (spelling?) was friendly and paitent. After talking to him for a couple of minutes I could tell that he was very knowledgable about the problem and had the skills and experience to fix it. He explained to me what he had to do and also gave me some helpful tips on what to do nearby while I was waiting. Less than 1 hour later he had fixed my GPS and checked to make sure everything else inside was working properly. He even fixed some smaller issues without charging me. My poor iphone 4 sustained some water damage and was acting weird (camera won't open, home button doesn't work), so I found Boston Iphone Repair through Yelp and emailed Ned based on the positive reviews. He replied very quickly, and was extremely accommodating in making time for me. I actually ended up seeing his dad, who is an iphone WIZ! He took my iphone completely apart within minutes, and was pointing out which pieces do what and explaining how things worked - extremely interesting for a science geek like me! He fixed my home button, but couldn't get the camera to work after swapping in/out new cameras, so he only charged me for the home button fix. He also pointed out that the water sensors inside the phone were not triggered, and suggested I go see the apple store for a software solution to the camera. I did that and.. voila! Decided to get my iPhone 6 screen repaired here because of all the amazing reviews and I absolutely regret it. The quality of what was put on my phone is complete shit. Not even 3 hours after leaving the store my screen cracked. I took it out of my purse and the screen was completely shattered. Now it makes a noise every time I touch it. Best part is, I have a protective case on it so clearly whatever was put on my phone was terrible quality. I called to see if anything could be done and all that was said is "there's nothing we can do, I'll give you a discount" 10$ off, really? After paying 140$ to get it fixed only a few hours earlier. My friend was also going to get her phone fixed there, thank god she didn't! She went to apple and paid 40$ less, and hasn't had any issues. That's your best bet! This is a tough one for me. I came in with what I believed was a semi-broken power button. I left it was a gentleman sitting at the desk, and was told to come back in about an hour. Returned, and was informed that, while he did manage to replace the button, it didn't solve the problem (he believed it was something else and wanted me to leave it overnight or come back another time). I needed the phone for that day, even with it's troublesome button, and just waited a few weeks until I was due for an upgrade. Never charged me for the work he performed since it didn't fix the problem I give -1 star for not fixing the problem, another -1 for not having any kind of system to track which phone is which or receipt for dropping off, but +1 for being an upstanding business and not charging for something that didn't work. I'd return if I ever have a broken screen or other similar issue, as the prices seemed reasonable, and the work he did clean and professional. read more

I will never take my Apple products anywhere else to be repaired. I spilled hot coffee all over my 2015 Macbook and thought it was toast. I immediately dropped it off at Boston iPhone Repair and they were able to clean it, dry it out, fix the motherboard that I'd damaged, and replace my keyboard for probably less than half of what Apple would have charged me. I'm incredibly thankful that I didn't have to shell out for a new computer as I'm a broke grad student. They've also replaced my iPhone battery and my boyfriend's charging port. I recently had my iPhone 5 screen shattered, as I was walking to the gym early in the morning. Although I was very disappointed about what happened with my phone, I was determined to find a place that would fix it quickly. I did a lot of research everywhere, and found the highest price to fix a shattered screen to be at Apple for around 150$, and others around 109$. Then I found Boston iPhone repair! At first, I was a bit skeptical about going to this place, because of how much cheaper it was compared to other locations. But I was not disappointed! I came in there with my phone and was told that I would need to pick it up in an hour, due to how busy they were. Had extreme problems with my screen repair. Phone completely broke. They refused to refund me for the damage and claimed it wasn't their fault. Had to buy a new completely new phone - damages of $600-$700. Which they claimed no responsibility for - when the phone had no problems for close to a year and once I got the repair the motherboard was shot in a week. Much bigger of a hassle and ended up costing me much more money than I could of ever thought. Very mean way to do business. After unfortunately shattering my iPhone 6 beyond recognition, i found myself forced to bite the bullet and find out how to fix it. I chose Boston iPhone Repair based on current Yelp reviews, and they honestly did not disappoint. Although $120 seems steep, it's right on in comparison to other service providers, and considering the screens aren't cheap, it is a spot on charge for the great work they do. I dropped off my phone, was told to come back in 30 minutes, stopped by a pub for a beer, and 30 minutes later, sure enough, my phone was as good as new. These guys are the real deal and provide a great service so that you can get full use out of your investment without having to give apple any more cash. Hopefully I will not have to utilize them again, but that is of course not for their workmanship, but rather me hoping I stop dropping my phone. read more

Had an awesome experience here. Came in with a phone that had been shattered front and back, and which had also developed a problem with the lock button. I only wanted the front and the button replaced, but they threw in a new back panel as well for nothing. It took them about 45 minutes, enough time for me to grab lunch down the street. Great guys. I'm giving Boston iPhone Repair a solid 3 star review. I got my phone's shattered screen fixed and I've never had to do that before. I went here because of the high reviews. There's another place in Harvard Sq (near the Garage on JFK St), but since their Yelp reviews were so good, I figured it was worth the extra 8-10 minutes to go up Massachusetts Ave. As with another reviewer, I had to go multiple times to get my shattered screen fixed. The first time, I went. I dropped off my phone and the screen was replaced within an hour, by one of two older gentlemen. Great! Except, I noticed that my dimmer setting no longer worked. I tried resetting it 3 times, over 24 hours: 1 time a hard reset of the phone; 2 times resetting the auto dimming functionality in a dark room. None of these worked. I also noticed 3 dark spots near the top of my screen when I looked at it at certain angles. The next day I went in to have my phone looked at. This time, the son looked at my phone and agreed that is was odd that the dimmer would not be working. He took the screen off and informed me that this was not one of their screens and that it looked like there had been "some water damage". I asked how that would be possible as I had just been there two days before. I didn't even address the water damage comment, as I've never dropped my phone in water, or held it out in the rain (or snow, as I got this phone in April 2014). Luckily, one of the gentlemen from the other day vouched that I had been there. Alas, he did not work on my phone. After about 15 minutes of looking for my credit card transaction, resetting my phone, and attaching then removing the screen; the son informed me that he would need to wait for his father to do any work at no cost. I said this was fine. Within an hour and half, the screen was still fixed/replaced, at no cost; AND my dimmer switch worked again. When I returned to the shop for the 3rd time, the father gave me my phone and wished me well. I am confused by the whole situation. I'm glad I wasn't charged, but what was the whole "This isn't one of our screens" approach to my phone. Was I given someone else's old screen? Were they shipped a defective screen? Regardless, I had to make 3 trips to get my phone fixed. I would advise anyone, who goes anywhere to get their phone fixed, to test it as much as possible after the repair. Test photos, dimming, video playback, etc. In summation, I am glad my phone is fixed. I'm just not happy about the run around I was given regarding a defective screen. I'm sorry you didn't make as much money off me for having to fix my phone twice; but I paid $100 to get a phone that worked. I would like to add, it was clear the son was very skilled at working with the tools they use, so I saw what people pay for. I just wish they had better people skills. read more

This place is the only place I will bring my iPhone to be repaired from now on. I recently shattered the front screen of my iphone 4, brought it to them and it was completely fixed in about 30 minutes, and for a fair price ($80). Unfortunately after I brought it home, I noticed the LCD screen flickering around the edges. Naturally I googled why that might be, and sure enough, most of the time it's from the glass being replaced. I dealt with the flickering for a couple days, then brought my phone back to Boston IPhone repair. The gentleman working that night said he'd take a look and for me to comeback in 30 minutes. Came back - he completely replaced the LCD screen, free of charge. I was so appreciative. I can't say enough great things about this place. The employees are awesome, always super friendly and willing to help you out. The prices are pretty fair as far as repairs go and they're in a great location, about a five minute walk from the Harvard T station. My husband and I treat our phones like garbage. We're clumsy and we drop them, on to tiles, on the pavement, in to toilets. I could blame my flimsy pockets, but I know it's really the two of us to blame here. Every time we come across an issue with our iPhone 4S phones, we bring them here. These guys are fast, professional, affordable. We've gotten: 1. An iPhone 3S LED & screen replaced 2. Both of the fronts of our iPhone 4S's replaced (twice...embarrassing) 3. The back of a 4S phone replaced 4. A battery replaced on the 4S 5. Had water damage repaired on a 4S. We've had these 4s phones for about 4 years now and they still look and run as good as new. Every time the new model of iPhone comes out, we kind of look at our current phones and think, "Meh, maybe the next one. Our phones right now look new! We can keep these a while longer." I think we're finally going to cave with the 6. But, I know that when the Apple Care runs out and I inevitably trip on the sidewalk, phone in hand, I can count on these guys to handle my stuff. Before I flew into Boston, I dropped my iPhone screen and was pretty upset that it was shattered. I spent the next hour before catching the plane trying to find an iPhone store to replace the screen, but all appointments were booked. So then I came upon the yelp reviews for this place. I walked into the place and there were two guys working on iPhones with three people sitting in their tiny office. He asked what I needed, told him, and told me to be back in 30 minutes. I came back in 35 minutes and boom. It was done. The screen is different than the stock screen - it looks a little thicker and has rounded edges, but it works fine. Since I'm a clutz, I've dropped my phone a few more times and turns out whatever they replaced it with, it's more durable than my original screen. I'm a fan of them. Too bad I'm in the west coast, but if I ever break my iPhone in Boston, I'm coming back here. read more

The screen on my iPhone 6S was smashed at work on Tuesday. I was pretty frantic since the next Boston Apple Store appointment was not for 4 more days because of the temporary closure of the Cambridge Apple Store. I walked in at 5:30 and was taken right away, and my screen was fixed by 5:50. His work is excellent. I had to pay $175, but I can justify the cost since I didn't have to wait at least 4 days or drop my phone off and be phoneless overnight. My iPad lives!! Dropped my iPad 2, in its case, about an inch off the ground, which made the color display all funky. Brought it in, and the man took it and started slamming it down hard on the counter (a common online fix for the color problem). That didn't work, so I left it with them overnight on a Saturday while they took it apart and fixed it. They were closed Sunday, but called me first thing Monday morning to come get it, and it was good as new for $70. The same repair through Apple was going to cost $300. The best part is, had the "slam it on the desk" fix worked, I'm fairly certain they would have let me walk out of there free of charge. Definitely worth the trip from Brookline. read more

I'm a little confused because I don't know if I was mistakenly overcharged or not. I came in with my shattered screen and was warmly greeted. The man behind the counter looked at my phone and said "IPhone 5S, that's $120." Then he told me to come back in 30-40 minutes. I knew it was less than RadioShack so I agreed. What I had read here though was that an Iphone 5 was $90 for a broken screen. Maybe it's the difference in model that had a $30 change. Overall I'm super happy with the results and how timely it was. I just showed up at the place which is literally one guy at a desk fixing iphones like a wizard. I gave him my phone, and ten minutes of pleasant chit chat later, it was as good as new. I mentioned looking up Boston iPhone repair on Yelp and earned a free touch screen protector. It costs $50 to repair your 3GS screen but that's better than getting a bunch of little cuts on your fingertips. Fast service Friendly guy Reasonable price again, fast service! read more

At first I was a little weirded out by the thought of a complete stranger coming to my home, etc to fix my phone. However, Ned was completely professional and not weird at all. He came to my work to repair a co-worker's phone and actually took the time to take mine apart to figure out why my home key was not working. He performed this diagnostic on the spot and free of charge. He ended up ordering the part and coming back the following week to fix it. Since he repaired the glass on my co-worker's phone and the home key on my phone, which was approximately a year ago, neither of us have experienced any issues with our phones and in both cases, the time it took for him to repair the phones was way less than one would assume and not expensive at all. I called about having the battery replaced in my iPad Mini 4th Generation tablet. The gentleman with whom I spoke quoted me $125.00. I asked him if that was for a good quality battery and he told me if I wanted an Apple replacement I would have to have it done by them. I thanked him for his honesty. Dropped my iPhone 4s and smashed the screen. A coworker turned me on to this place. I walked down to Harvard Square dropped off the phone. I came back 30 minutes later and it was fixed. It cost me only $70 and was painless. What really impressed me was an interaction the store owner had with the owner of a broken iPhone 5s. The 5s had a small crack in the screen but was totally usable. The owner of the phone was going to pay $160 to get the screen replaced. The store owner suggested he wait until the newest iPhone comes out. The price of the replacement screen drops significantly when a new model iPhone comes out. The iPhone owner agreed and left with the iPhone still in its cracked screen state. I was very impressed that the store owner gave up an easy $160 and did the right thing. read more

Honest as the day is long. When they offer a free assessment, they mean it. My 5 stars is based on their quick and honest assessment of my phone that got me to the apple store immediately versus actual repair work done. I accidentally went for an hour+ ocean swim with my kids with my phone. (And seriously, why do we have pockets in men's swimsuits? Women don't have them...) The tech (owner?) opened up my phone, pointed out the indicators and the fact that the batteries were puffed up like balloons and the likely scorching of the chips. He noted I could spend the time and money on trying - emphasis on trying - a repair, but that it likely wasn't worth it. (Think Lloyd Christmas odds.) I second what most people say. My phone slipped out of my hand and fell flat on its face. Screen cracked on top around earpiece. Although not a major deal, I wasn't about to cut my ear every time I wanted to answer a call. In came this place. The guy was very nice and straightforward. My phone fell off the bed when I got out to grab some coffee and cracked the screen. After coming down after a total panic attack, my husband found this place that only charges $80 to have the screen replaced in about 30 minutes. Well I made my way over right after they opened and he (the gentleman who works there) already had 3 phones he needed to work on. He said it would be just under an hour and I could leave it with him. So I did, and wondered down the street to Grafton Street restaurant for some coffee and snack. An hour later I came back and my screen was just like new. The gentleman was very nice, knowledgeable and does great work. God forbid it happens again but if it does I now have a place to take it. read more
