Excellent, speedy service with fair pricing. To give you some context, I was freaking out last Friday evening after spilling water over my keyboard. Since most repair shops were closed by then, I was able to do some substantial research and also requested a quote from a few places near where I live (only one out of four businesses actually gave me some idea regarding a price range--pretty shady in my opinion). Next day in the afternoon, I dropped my laptop off at the shop very close to my place, which didn't give me a quote but seemed convenient enough, studded with multiple 4.5, 5 star reviews. However, I felt very rushed and almost brushed off without proper communication. I went there in the afternoon, also because unlike advertised on Google/Yelp, 3-5 pm was their only available time slot on that Saturday. On top of that, they told me they'd get back to me only the following day in the afternoon with a diagnosis. All this is to let you know that I've done my research and know where the best place for repair is: Boston iPhone Repair. Not only did the owner of Boston iPhone Repair (whom I called on my way out from that shop) offer me a fair price range but I could just walk in without an appointment. I had to travel a bit in the unexpected rain, but it was totally worth it; it took less than an hour for the owner to call me back and only another 20 minutes or so for him to fix the problem. I even got a free iPhone screen protector for checking in. I was lucky that the water didn't seep through to cause further damage, but if my laptop was in the best possible condition, I would've definitely placed my full trust in Boston iPhone Repair anyway. This was a speedy repair! My screen seems to be working without glitches or delay on the screen. Best screen repair I've ever had. I have a 6 and it was $69 plus around $4 tax so total was $73 and some change. That was a reasonable price compared to the apples of the world. I dropped my phone off and within 30 minutes, it was repaired. I took advantage of the yelp check in offer to get the free tempered glass for the screen and he obliged. Based on the excellent interviews and prompt responses from Ned, the owner, I brought my MacBook Pro 2015 in for a battery replacement and my brother's iPhone 8 for screen replacement. Very pleased with Ned in every way possible: he was ontime, polite, nice to my dog and fixed my iphone without a problem...he really knew what he was doing. I had dropped my phone down the stairs and surprisingly it worked, though the screen was shattered. Ned came to my house and fixed it for $80. EVEN if the display is broken, he can fix that for $150 (i think) - SO much cheaper than going to the Apple store and getting a refurb for $200+. The only downside is that doing this voids your warranty with Apple, though most Phone issues/breaks are things that Apple does not cover in the warranty. HOWEVER, before Ned left - he told me to let him know if anything quirky started to happen and he would gladly fix it. I had my phone battery replaced at the Staples in Fresh Pond but it was having issues. I went back to the staples but after a few days had the same issues. The phone wouldn't charge, but had some remaining battery life and would turn off within a few minutes for no reason. Then Boston iPhone Repair came it... I went in and the technician at Boston iphone repair opened my phone and immediately saw that the Staples people used the wrong screws so the Battery was not secured in my phone properly. He used his own screws and fixed the problem. Now that battery works, albeit he did say that Staples gave me a cheap battery. This place is pretty good. Fast repair, competitive rates. Most places I looked for a shattered iPhone 6 screen had the rate at $99, but BiPR had it at $79 (not including tax). They repaired my screen rather quickly. Looked good as new. I'm also not 100% sure, but I /think/ the replacement screen is made by a third party. Something about it felt different to me. I had that subtle feeling of "hmm, something's not the same." Either way, it looks good. But I thought I'd mention it in case that is important to you. I'm only giving it 4 stars because they didn't re-install my front-facing microphone component correctly. As soon as I left, Siri stopped working, dictation stopped working, and taking front facing videos didn't work either. Speaker phone didn't always work properly either, people kept telling me they heard crackling. I looked online and tried everything from a software standpoint to no avail, and then finally found someone online who said it could be a hardware issue. So I brought it into the store and they discovered it was a hardware/installation issue, and fixed it quickly. For my troubles they gave me a free iPhone protective screen. I took my iPhone here to replace a battery last year (2020). I'd got a replacement battery here previously for another phone an it worked well. The problem is when my phone battery started failing again 5 months later I went to the Apple store and when they opened it up they saw the replacement battery and said there where " modifications on it" and they refused to replace that battery. I can't recommend the folks at Boston iPhone Repair more. One of the keys of my MacBook Pro Retina stopped working. After some research, I realized that the only way to fix it would be to replace the entire keyboard (and the battery since they're glued together). They were quick, professional, and friendly. The repair was one in under two days after they received the parts (impressive since it was a labor intensive job). They charged the going rate as well. My 3-year old laptop is now as good as new! When I went in to pick it up, I happened to show them my iPhone which I thought had a cracked screen. It turns out that the screen protector was brittle and it was what was cracked. A rogue water bottle opened up in my backpack and completely waterlogged my 2017 MBP. I immediately powered it off and let it dry for 6 weeks before attempting to charge it and power it up, to no avail. It was well and truly dead. I had been saving up for a while to get some high performance options, so I was particularly disappointed when Apple and Microcenter both quoted nearly $1400 to open the case, without guaranteeing a fix. Cue Boston IPhone Repair. They gave me a list of options from working on the board to see if they could fix it (only $40 if they fail, $399 if they succeed) to full board replacement ($700-1000) to data recovery ($250). Not ready to give up on her yet, I had Ned go for the board fix. It took some time, but he communicated his progress really well as he systematically went through fixing many issues from dead power rails to charging ports. I think he probably spent much more time than he should have for the $400 fee, and I am so grateful that he did, because he was able to fix the board! He gave me the option to replace the screen, which has significant water marks visible (he emailed me pics to show me the damage), but rather than pushing another $400-500 fix, he said that he wouldn't recommend it unless I really wanted to do it - no pressure, ball in my court. I gave 5 stars because I was very pleased with Ned's communication, his results, and the fact that he made sensible recommendations rather than push additional expensive work. This shop has now branched out into MacBook repairs, and both of my experiences have been superb. 1. CD drive was busted and keyboard stopped properly functioning back in March or April. I filed a request form through their website and heard back promptly (probably within 30 minutes). The repair was reasonable, especially considering how little I use my computer (just a music and resume repository at this point) and how I did not want to spend $1,500 for a fancy new paperweight. 2. Hard drive (an SSD) was fried a couple weeks ago and wouldn't let me repartition. E-mailed Ned and again a prompt response.
