I found ice for $1.99 for a 7 lb bag which was much more reasonable than Kroger. There were 2 employees in the store and both were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. I was the only customer in the store so one even went into the cooler, grabbed the case I needed and carried it to the cash register for me. The cashier was extremely nice, and we carried on a great conversation for a few minutes. I did not find the price of the beer to be that much over the cost that I would have paid at Kroger and I got to support a local business. I am not in the habit of buying liquor, but I would not hesitate to go to this business again if needed.

But between the immaculate new fixtures and beautiful signage, an excellent and fairly well-priced wine selection, and the ridiculously hot guy who (or whose family) seems to own the place (the first time I went there were 3 or 4 generations crowding the store, when they first opened), and the walk-ability for me, there's not much to complain about. Parking sucks-- this is in the old Store 24 on Arsenal by the Super 8 and it's hard to get in and out of if you're driving, but I'm not!) Seriously ladies, you have to go see this guy. Prices are pretty tame which is a huge plus. The staff are always easy/going and happy to help. They put me on my favorite new drink -- and gin cocktail -- and are one of the few places that carry the brand I love (Dillon's!). My only suggestion for management would be to ensure their posted hours, online hours, and actual hours of operation actually match; I've had one or two times when the store was closed when it was listed as open. They have a very good selection of beer, and if they don't have what you're looking for, they will order it for you! They also gave me a 10% discount for ordering a case. The Belgian beer I get is 5 cents more across the street at Trader Joes (big whoop) but the 20 minutes Of peace I gain by not having to venture into that madness and wait in line is priceless:) plus trader joe's only has but 1 flavor.

Probably not worth the 45-minute trek across town but on a positive note, we did find a great little Asian fusion restaurant/bar/lounge that made the trip worth it. Recently, since I've become disabled, I'd called in a delivery order with no problem -- John had always been helpful -- until he left the store. Then I'd order through Kevin, also very helpful. Today, when I ordered, two people who didn't speak English tried to help me but had trouble taking the order. Suddenly, when I asked to speak to someone who could better understand me, Edward came on the line and said -- suddenly-- that the manager had decided not to take the order. When I asked to speak to the manager, I was told he was "tied up". Bottom line -- used to be friendly and helpful. Not anymore. Too bad.

Especially considering the wine was $11 if I remember correctly. I have read reviews in the past complaining about how strict they are regarding identification. This is SHOCKING to me because I've only been ID'd there once. Once! And for context I'm 22...certainly baby faced and should 100% be getting carded when buying alcohol. In terms of customer service, I have yet to have a positive or negative interaction. Notably, I have never been asked if I need assistance finding something. There are often men talking behind the counter and no employees walking around the store offering assistance. I will likely continue shopping here just out of convenience, but would not recommend anyone going out of their way to visit this establishment.
