During my evening constitutional around the neighborhood on Saturday, March 5, 2022, I noticed the shop and observed upbeat music and modern décor, so I walked in. A gaudily dressed young woman at the front stopped me with feigned friendliness while essentially fulfilling the role of a bouncer and giving off an aura of ignorance and arrogance while pretending to be a congenial church- or Walmart greeter or restaurant hostess. Her cover wouldn't fool anyone, however, but I sensed that she did not much care about this. She demanded that I produce an identification (ostensibly this is because one must be twenty-one to purchase certain products from these establishments, though I am almost fifty (50) y.o.). In any event, I let all of this go without comment. She asked how she could help me. I replied that I liked the music and décor and was curious what kind of business it was. (What I did not say was that I was growing less curious by the minute.) I tried to downplay the awkwardness by suggesting that I had thought that this was perhaps a tea shop or spa or even a sushi restaurant (giving it too much deference, given its proximity only yards from the sex store next door). This probably won't surprise you, but instead of answering my question, she asked what I was looking for. I was aghast. I told her I just wanted to look around and check out the place. She told me I would need to produce for her my ID. I told her that as I was just walking around the neighborhood, I had not brought my ID, smartphone, or anything else. She told me that the law requires it (untrue: https://www.azdhs.gov/licensing/marijuana/index.php). I told her that I'm a lawyer in Minnesota, and I very much doubted it. She finally admitted that the store sells THC products. I asked her whether it sells anything that can be smoked, and she said yes. I told her that there were two other shops nearby that sell THC, and neither requested identification. One even gave me a sample. Another gentleman walked up to talk to her but did not acknowledge me. Classy. During this interaction, I left a pregnant pause or two, but she made it very clear that I wasn't from around here (true: I travel often) and was not welcome. I asked her why the secrecy given that marijuana is legal, but she wouldn't answer. I found this place shady and disrespectful AF. The staff reminded me of the kind of people that were stoners during high school and didn't at all like top achievers. read more

The customer service is decent however a couple months ago I brought in a new patient and I was promised multiple times I would receive an email with a discount to use in the future. Before recreation was approved, they had a pretty decent loyalty program and prices weren't the best...but happy hour helped. As soon as they went recreational, they did away with the loyalty program, choosing to not even keep it in place for med patients. Strike one. Also, there is absolutely no distinction in price (other than taxes), between med and Rec....strike 2. And the final strike is that all things considered, they haven't even bothered to introduce daily specials. This dispensary went downhill fast IMO. Everything about this place is higher end-from the aesthetics of the inside to the choice of flowers and concentrates. It all comes from the 'higher end' companies but the prices are extremely competitive!!! Got myself some grow science concentrates which is notorious for being reasonably more expensive than the other choices at MOST shops but not botánica! They're on Pat if not beating out the rest in prices, specials, happy hours, first/repeat customer stuff. Only harvest offers anywhere near as much as they do discount wise. And most of the time you're in and out fairly quickly and to top it off the staff is always wonderful, courteous, helpful, and customer oriented. Never feel like you're bothering them like at Desert Bloom on the east where they wanna get you in and out as fast as possible! read more

I loooooove Botanica. They always have great deals and happy hour mon- thurs 2-5 pm where everything but $10 flower and shake eights is 15% off your entire purchase. I am more of an edible person than a smoker but I do know they have a punch card deal on flower. Bud tenders are very knowledgeable and make great recommendations after a quick chat. I have yet to purchase any flower but their edible and pain patches are nothing but great. Accepts cards with a $2 fee. The interior is very posh and the waiting room doesn't smell like ganja. Even though it is a bit far off, it is right off the highway so it doesn't feel as long of a drive as it is. Plus they do black friday sales, everything was 20% off yesterday. ^_^ read more

Whenever I'm on this side of town I stop by here. Botanica knows how to treat their customers and is the most friendly dispensary I've been to in Tucson. The overall vibe is clean simple lines, and modern with a tad of hipster sprinkled in. What I like most about this place is their presentation. They know how to make everything look good. For the most part the flower here is always decent but I went in this time and wasn't too impressed with the old product they gave me. Harvested a few months back and premium price? I expected more in quality from you guys. Weekly specials for flower are your best bet. Flower is pre-weighed here and given in vacuum sealed bags. Their selection of edibles is small, but what they do carry is top notch. This is the only place I can find The Clear vape cartridges, and I love them, so this is what keeps me coming back. Take note that they accept credit/debit here, but charge a fee ($2) and tax (other dispensaries include tax in the price prior). read more

This has been my go to dispensary since I got my card A couple of months ago. Most of the stuff I got from them was fresh and harvested within the last six months. I picked up some 22 red ghost fire OG and looked at the harvest date and it's June 4 of 2019! Today is April 11, 2020! How are they going to sell me bud that's almost a year old?! And for the original price of 45. Seriously? The bud isn't even enjoyable because of how old it is, taste like shit and is harsh. Wow thanks guys! I'll probably still go here only because they have grow science weed and at least with that stuff I can "play" their menu and get fresh weed when they put a new stain out. They are very knowledgeable, with helping me find the right product for my medical problems that I live with on a daily basis. I must say this dispensary is beautiful ~ however my experience was NOT good. I use cannabinol for my OA, insomnia and anxiety. I purchased high grade, not cheap cannabis, cookie and pain patches. I don't mind spending the money, it is far better than Big Pharma products. Needless to say the cannabis for insomnia was NOT the quality in which I paid. Smell and texture was appealing ~ but ~ the end result was very dissatisfying. I decided to take it back the unopened cannabis, the girl (worthless) behind the counter communicated to the owner via computer in which they would only give me $15.00 toward another product. The clerk did not know the policy, like I said, worthless. The owner/manager was ruthless and rude. Shannon, hope you are reading this. Please for gosh sakes take pride in your job. People like to be acknowledged and we also would like someone behind the counter with half a brain. I was very disappointed in your dispensary....your products are overpriced and poor quality. I tried medical cannibus about 5 years ago, but let it lapse because there weren't many dispensaries and there weren't a lot of options. So, in starting over, I was a bit nervous. I was also nervous because the other places I've been to made me feel like a criminal with their one at a time prison door approach. This place let my husband come in with me for support. I was waited on by Ricky who was extremely helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. Fears flew out the door, and he took time with me to familiarize me with all of the product and how they worked. I felt so fortunate that he was the person serving me. I noticed the person next to him working wasn't as welcoming. Even verbally scolded my husband for touching a jar which seemed unnecessary. I have been going to botanica for almost 3 years now, always my favorite dispensary. I am a regular high spending patient - Lately they have had high turnover on staff . They are inconsistently trained or no knowledge. Their debit card has been inconsistent for over a year. In the past their specials for summer and holidays have been terrific, not this year . No Xmas card this year either! They could get away with this before but now with earths healing just up the road ,which by the way has better prices. However botanical quality is better. But for the problems lately makes not worth it read more
