Fact is my initial request for a prescription for Fluoxetine was ignored. I believed his throwing up was anxiety related and guess what I believe I was correct. He's been on melatonin and has stopped the excessive grooming and more importantly stopped throwing up. Dr Myburgh disagreed with me and insisted it was something he ingested. Keeping in mind he did not review my cats chart to see that it had been over two weeks between visits where my cat did not throw up at all and would have known he was already on a prescription diet which Dr Myburgh suggested as an option on my second visit . He said cats don't throw up when stressed..really?? I do appreciate the refund but quite frankly under the circumstances a full refund should have been given.

Unacceptable Treatment at Grace Veterinary Clinic…read more While dog-sitting my sister's poodle Lulu, I noticed blood in her urine and rushed her to Grace Veterinary Clinic on Dearborn Street in Englewood. I was told to bring her in right away, but what happened next left me shocked and deeply upset. Upon arrival, the man behind the front desk was engrossed in a lengthy chat about motorcycles. Soon, Lulu and I were ushered into an exam room by a young woman who took some initial notes. Then in walked the same man from the desk--a fat, bald individual who, based on behavior and attitude, I doubt was a licensed veterinarian. He entered the room mid-chocolate bar and remarked that we'd interrupted his lunch. I explained that Lulu wasn't my dog and I didn't have all the medical details. In response, he displayed an appalling level of impatience and ridicule--mocking gestures, eye-rolls, turning his back, even pretending to bite his finger in frustration. After saying he "couldn't do anything without more information," he walked out. Feeling humiliated and dismissed, I picked Lulu up and left. The marquee outside says "REMEMBER BE NICE". What a bitter irony. This post is meant to warn others: if you're looking for compassionate, professional veterinary care, be cautious. Emergencies demand empathy--not ego.

My skittish cat doesn't like the smells upon entering the clinic but once she hears Dr. John's voice she calms right down. During an emergency situation, Dr. John performed open abdominal surgery clearing an obstruction which saved my fur companion's life. He may be abrasive to some. I happen to prefer someone who is honest. Our pets who see beyond the scope of what our human eyes can see and even my friend's blind canine, loves Dr. John and the staff at Grace Veterinary Clinic.
