Probably the best thing you can say about our original furniture is that it was eclectic. More truthfully, it simply didn't really look that great, pretty much a "before" project on what you'd see on HGTV. Once Vanessa and Michelle got through with it, the interior of the house was totally transformed. The first step was Vanessa came through the house with her contractor, Arlin, and recommended changes to be made, including updating ceiling fans, light fixtures, installing recessed lights, etc. We didn't do everything she recommended but we did most. Vanessa coordinated all of the contracting work done by Arlin and his team, and provided all the quotes. The prices for the various jobs were very competitive, generally cheaper than other estimates I received from other contractors. The bottom line is that the results speak for themselves. We received multiple offers and sold the house for $110K over list within 5 days for the highest price ever sold in our neighborhood. I couldn't have asked for much more than that. In a short time, we selected a delightful suite of living room furniture. June made sure the furniture arrived on time and arrived on the delivery day to put everything gorgeously in place while I worked on my business, including tactfully putting aside some junk and even offering to hang our art. That gave me huge relief, because it was the day before my guests were to arrive, and I had no time to deal with it. I was also impressed that June did many things off the clock and didn't charge us extra when she realized it would suit our taste and lack of time best to order our art gallery wrapped. June also found a way to repurpose four lamps that we had so that they went with the decor where they were situated. I have already hired Shea Studio Interiors for an additional project to spruce up my bedroom and office. Additionally, June's suggestion to move my office from upstairs to downstairs has tremendously benefitted my business operations, will save me on taxes, and will provide me a better sense of peace in the upstairs, "home" part of my home/office. Ali was a great listener and developed a vision for the house that fit both our lifestyle and tastes. She introduced us to pieces and patterns beyond those we would have found on our own. For each room, she provided multiple choices for furniture, patterns, rugs, etc.--at various price points and styles--and made sure that we could mix and match the different pieces while maintaining the overall vision for the room. I sent Laura images and agenda items ahead of the visits and she came prepared for the most productive use of our time. I couldn't believe how much we were able to cover in 2 hours- paint colors, wallpaper, fabric, carpet samples, built in design, material suggestions, hardware suggestions, the works! While the cost per hour may seem high for new home owners, the cost savings of her suggestions and vendors she recommends ended up paying for the consultations and then some. I'm sure that value goes even further with access to her trade discounts for full service design. Even without leveraging Laura to order on your behalf, she brings expertise on local vendors and online stores where you can find items you wouldn't otherwise know about. We ended up saving money with our contractor by leaning on suggestions Laura gave us, her notes and drawings are thorough with actionable plans. It was incredibly difficult to find a designer who would do hourly consultations and I'm so glad we found Laura- she has impecable taste, she's efficient and focused, and gave me the confidence to execute decisions on my own in the absense of being able to hire a full time designer. Top Design Quality, Flexibility & Attention to Detail…read more We have contracted Beyond Design Studios for two renovations at home (basement 2017 and kitchen 2019) on separate occasions and both times the quality of the work has been outstanding.  Beyond Design's crew is very professional and our renovations have been delivered on time and on budget, both times, no surprises.  Their architectural designs are modern and up to today's standards. Mr. Luis Silva (main architect and general manager) was very knowledgeable and included all of our wishes during the process.  His attention to detail, and flexibility as well during the renovation process helped us accommodate last minute requests to include additional elements that made our new kitchen stand out from other kitchen designs we have seen. After seeing the work, several of our friends have stated that our kitchen looks like "it deserves to be on a catalog", and we agree! You can see the "Before" and "After" work on this post.
