Their initial quote is always competitive, however, as the work makes progress, you will find many things that were not included in the original estimate. Therefore, if you're not knowledgeable enough, your final quote might end up being much higher than the initial estimate. For example: we paid almost 10K+ to remodel one room and they left one wall unfinished because they said it was not included (we thought it was). So make sure you have all the nitty gritty details written down in your estimate to avoid confusion later. Also, their work hasn't stood the test of time. We noticed many things have started to fall apart not too long after the work was completed - example : our LVP is peeling off in low traffic areas, leakage under the shower door and under sink, multiple door hinges have already broken, the floor has uneven spots despite paying extra to flatten it, etc. The work looks nice in the beginning but after a while you'll start noticing where they made compromises to make it "affordable". In terms of communication, they are pretty responsive. We haven't had major issues with Alexa, Sam, Camilo, Dan other than occasional misalignment between everyone.

Yes you have to pay $50 for that, but I am convinced that's how they make the money as their estimate was way over-priced. The guy didn't suggest to fix anything, just replace and big repairs. The estimate came to 3X what the contractor I hired charged (and the guy did a great job.) Don't believe the hype, they are not worth it even to get an estimate cause it's not free. They know they are high.

But, I felt like the company exploits the hourly fee by including unloading their car, loading it back up (in multiple trips) and whatever the hell paperwork is happening on the ipad. I'd estimate that we paid an extra $300 or so for things that they do to try to add time. Some of the work took far longer than it should. Somehow our tech spent two hours installing less than 2 feet of floor molding, when we already had it. So, we paid like $400 something for what should be maybe a $150, or max $200 project. Plus they look for other ways to make a project take far longer. When we had to order a door, the staff was like "we'll pick it up for you from the warehouse" -- it was 45 minutes away from our home and would have cost us hundreds, when it turns out the company they purchased it from could easily deliver it for $7. Hambelton didn't even give me that option til I fought for it. I also told our tech not to bother doing certain things (like clean), and since he insisted, I offered our own shop vac, and he refused to use it, instead going down to his car to get more of his own tools/supplies. So cool, another $50 for some cleaning that would have taken me like 2 min. There was even dumb stuff, like the company made me pay for our tech's parking meter because the contract (which you don't sign until after paying the non refundable deposit, says that you must guarantee parking for your tech). It wasn't necessarily about the money there, it was just annoying that they cannot accept the cost of doing business. For that reason, I'm not sure I would use Hambelton again. I don't mind paying for good work, but, again, this just felt exploitive. But, if you truly don't care about price, Hambelton was reliable, and did good work (which, admittedly is rare for handymen).

After confirming the crew would take the proper measures, I walked the job to find stain sprayed all over both sides of my house (front and back), as well as some areas where they clearly attempted to clean the splatters off with paint thinner or something, which completely removed the coloring from my new siding. After sending photos to the owner in an attempt to have them resolve the issue, he eventually told me it wasn't them that did it, and maybe someone in my house did?!?! Complete clown show of a response. Lack of professionalism, integrity, and overall job awareness from this crew. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!

I had 2 out of 3 Pilar's replaced on my deck and they added cement in the ground. I had no issues there. They also replaced floor boards, hand rails and added fascia on the outside of the deck. I was about 60% please with the finalized and finished product. First off, it took them 1 month to fully finish and clean up materials. We had a strict timeline to get it done because of a party we were having. They did finish the deck in time, however the cleanup was still sitting in our back yard outside of the fence on the day of the party and it looked terrible. It almost took them another week to clean up the old material off the deck. We would get texts from this company saying they'll be out at our job at a certain time such as 7-7:30am and I would go to work and my wife would text me at 11-11:30 saying they just showed up to start working on the deck. Then take a lunch break at 12:30 and would be gone by the time I got home from work. (3pm) This happened multiple times throughout the month they worked on the deck. Not only did they show up late to almost every day they worked, whoever was working always had an excuse to why they were late. They would also leave the job early, and not at a good stopping point. Days would pass before coming back out because they made mistakes on cuts that they did while measuring? Our railing was delayed because they built the railings in their shop instead of on site where they could actually do the measuring In person To the deck. Also, the deck railings where not straight on one part but because they put a hand rail on top it "covered it up" as he said to me. Also noticed when screwing in railing 4x4s into the deck, the wood was split on almost every post From where they screwed into the post. (Will have to replace those later on) We had brackets put in under the deck for extra support and I asked them multiple times to straighten them and make sure the boards underneath were straight and the brackets were locked in good. They never fixed those. At this point I was just tired of dealing with them and coming home from work pissed off to see things I asked for not being fixed or them not even showing up at all. Lastly, they used deck screws obviously but when screwing them in, some didn't fully go into the wood and stuck out, or they stripped them and I had to put my own deck screws in after cutting them off With an oscillating tool. Overall, they claim to do over 50 services. There is only 3 of them working for this company and most of it is painting. Would not recommend them to do your deck. Pictures posted below.

Of course, as Dori led us to expect, the team discovered additional rot as they worked. I cannot overstate the diligence Marvin in particular brought to the task of identifying and fixing the rot. Dori's company is not inexpensive but it is worth every penny.
