We had the Old Fashioned and the B1 Bacon Burger and both were cooked to perfection. The fries were excellent, too. Iced tea was fresh brewed and, though we don't drink beer, there seemed to be a wide array of craft brews on tap. Employees were friendly and helpful, we were greeted promptly, assisted with selections, and food arrived quickly. Restaurant was very clean! Oh, and it was only 1 mile (or less) from I-20. We arrived a few minutes before they opened on a warm Saturday and the wait was about 75 minutes or so. Definitely worth standing in line for. There's ample outdoor (but covered) seating and plenty of good music playing, plus cornhole games if you're feeling competitive. Jays will be our go-to for BBQ the next time we're in Abilene! They do have restrooms so that's nice. The line gets long and they are slow in taking orders and getting the food out. We arrived around 11:15 on a Friday and the line was already long so we decided we would order to go as we need to get to Lubbock before 3:00pm. We ordered the Texas Trinity to go. This place has charm and lots of stuff to look at while waiting in the long slow line. You can go up and order beer to drink in line but my thought is that the beer is over price. Some places have free beer or free water while you wait outside in the Texas heat, not here. So the food we got made it all the way back to eat in Houston on Sunday when we got back. The true test of good BBQ is how it taste when you reheat it, all the food was good but the brisket was a bit dry 8/10, the sausage was nice 9/10 and the pork rib was good 9/10.
