Stopped by for lunch before a golf round and ordered The Bomber to go. The restaurant is clean, plenty of seating and friendly staff. The order was filled in less than 5 minutes with a pretty busy amount of customers. The sandwich was amazing. Plenty of brisket, pulled pork and jalapeño cheese sausage with cole slaw. I could only eat half at the sitting and ate the rest during the golf round. Highly recommended!

The Shed Market might just serve the best food in Abilene and definitely the best BBQ I've ever had. The moist brisket was incredible: tender, juicy, and perfectly smoky. The jalapeño cheddar sausage packed just the right amount of heat, and the ribs were also tender and amazing. The sides held their own too--the creamy mac and cheese was rich and the jalapeño cornbread added a perfect kick that tied the whole meal together. I couldn't resist dessert, and the peach cobbler was absolutely worth it. If you're ever in town, this place is a must. Everything I tried was outstanding, and I'd recommend it in a heartbeat.

Next to Podys in Pecos, this is best brisket I've ever eaten and believe me I'm a barbecue fanatic. All the sides were awesome as well. Ribs were above average also. Nice, big, and clean establishment. The best barbecue always has limited hours and menus and this one does!

Friendly staff, fast and delicious Beef rib was pricey but was really good. Worth it.

    So much yummy food!

This place is awesome! We ordered brisket, chicken, potato salad, green chile macaroni, jalapeno corn, and mixed berry cobbler. The food was delicious and the portions were great! The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant is clean and welcoming. There's lots of indoor and outdoor seating available. Outside you can play a game of corn hole if you choose. We were lucky to find this place when we left Abilene State Park. If you are in the area, stop by for some great Texas barbecue!

True Texas BBQ! I was very impressed by the food at The Shed. I got the two meat plate with burnt ends and smoked turkey. Both were wonderful. The Mac n Cheese was delicious and definitely my favorite side of the ones I tried. The potato salad was unique but I'm not sure I would order again. There's plenty of seating and we got there right when they opened on a Saturday so it wasn't too busy, although it definitely fills up quick.

Okay this is just simply the best place I've found In Abilene, had the Brisket Sandwich, beans and potato salad, the coleslaw and corn salad were delicious as well, the Brisket was cooked perfect, so tender it melted in my mouth, even their pickles were perfect for the flavor.

Run to the shed! An Abilene staple, this BBQ joint is popular during the lunch hour and quickly sells out. I tried the bomber sandwich (brisket, sausage and pulled pork with slaw) and it was delicious! Complete with all the fixings-pickled jalapeños, house made pickles, onions and their homemade bbq sauce-this is a show stopper! Don't forget the banana pudding!!

My star rating: * Avoid. Why are you even open? ** Avoid unless the last restaurant on earth. *** Several important misses. Not recommended. **** Very enjoyable experience. Highly recommended. ***** Hits every mark of perfection. PROS New location, beautiful, clean, roomy, plenty of seating, good setup I had moist brisket, regular sausage, potato salad and cole slaw - all fantastic, the brisket had so much flavor and tender, the potato salad was best I have ever had. Small bar for cocktails Plenty of parking spots Large venue but the ordering line moved quickly CONS Two single restrooms for each men and women - this could be a problem on busy days.

Pure fat for $26 per pound

I must be unlucky. I have only eaten here 4 or 5 times and on 2 of those times I get a lot of pure fat I like moist brisket but when over 1/2 of 3 slices is pure fat then to me that is too much fat Everyone is nice and friendly

Forgot to take pics while eating so this was as we left so I won't forget to come back....

The service and food were great and the ambiance was wonderful. We sat outside on a beautiful day with good food! A+

Delicious food. Trust me get the banana pudding.

Some of the best cuts of goat and beef that I've ever seen, for a very reasonable price. The shelves were stocked full of various dried chillis, canned foods, rice, fresh fruits and vegetables, and much more. This isn't the reason why I came here though. Walking through the main entrance, an immediate right, takes you straight to the takeout counter. There, behind a class case, is a selection of freshly cooked Mexican food. There's choices of pork, beef, and chicken, cooked in various ways. Lechon, chicharron, carnitas, bistek, and much more, along with rice, beans, etc. I decided on a lechon burrito grande, went to the register to pay, then came back, and was handed my burrito, after my receipt was verified. Then I headed over to the condiments station, and added some onion, cilantro, chopped cabbage with sliced pickled jalapenos, and some green salsa to my burrito. I was quite surprised when I bit into my burrito, but it was just the juicy succulent meat, wrapped in the tortilla. No rice, no beans, nothing else; just meat inside the tortilla. The most authentic Mexican eats that I've had in Texas. I can't wait to come back here. One thing to note, many of the employees on spoke Spanish, and I was the only non-Spanish speaking customer at the time. I had no issues communicating and felt welcomed here.

I spend almost couple hundred dollars each time I go and this last time I bought a seasoning and when I got home to use it, it was unsealed and the seasoning was pretty hard so I assumed that maybe some moisture got into it. I went back to go see if I can exchange it for a new one and the blonde lady that was working there, not sure if she's the owner or whatever but stared at me as if I was just talking out of my ass, then walked over to the seasonings just to then talk to me like I was stupid and acted like I didn't know what i was talking about or I was lying about it being opened and then tried to convince me that all of the seasonings Are like that. She also said that the lid most likely tore the seal off itself, which that has never happened to me before but either way, the seasoning was hard, and there was no telling how long it had been open on the shelf. Some of them did stick closer to the top, but once you shook it, it all easily broke apart, the one I have is almost completely solid from top to bottom. EITHER WAY, I would've loved a seasoning that was completely sealed when I open it. Instead of just exchanging the $12 seasoning after spending almost $200 there just a couple days before, she gave me a really hard time about it and was super rude and basically told me none of the other seasonings were any better like a "too bad, so sad" attitude. I just said OK and she just walked right back to the front without saying another word to me. Her facial expressions and the way she quickly dismissed me was just so uninviting and disrespectful and me and my toddler just walked out. We won't be going back there. I'll find a new place to get our meat.

It's home cooked food, calories-not-monitored, but worth every single bite. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but I knew it was going to be good when we saw the parking lot was overflowing into the grass. Luckily there was still an open table inside and we were welcomed by the sweetest staff and our waitress was just as wonderful. So many things looked good on the menu, but I couldn't resist ending this road trip with another taste of chicken fried steak to compare to Mary's (and they can definitely compete because it was AWESOME)! We also tried the chicken fried chicken (delicious), sweet potato casserole (amazing), Mae's potato casserole (tasty), cheese sticks (good), and the hamburger and fries which was obviously delicious enough that my picky daughter almost finished it - which says a LOT! We were very glad that we'd ordered the "smaller portions" for lunch because it meant we could grab a few of the desserts to go to snack on for our final leg of the road trip and keep enjoying at home. We tried the toffee cake (incredible), peanut butter cake (sinfully good), and the coconut pie (very light and creamy)! We also snagged some items to take home with us from their coolers and I can 100% recommend their pork tamales and summer sausage. If you get the chance to stop here, you won't regret it at all! My husband got the deluxe breakfast. The hashbrowns were greasy, obviously not reconstituted, and overcooked. He chose a pancake instead of the biscuit and gravy. His pancake took forever to receive. It was thin and tasteless. I've had better from a Bisquick box! My tortilla was greasy. Barely recognizable as a tortilla. Had I not been genuinely hungry, I would have sent it back. I managed to eat two triangles. I tried to cover up some of the greasiness with their salsa. I've had better salsa from Old El Paso. It was watery and flavorless. That seemed to be the overall theme for this meal. Flavorless and thin on cooking prowess. Had the waitress not been friendly, I would have given only one star. $25 for barely edible anything!?! The outdoor seating consisted of old wooden tables and benches that were uncomfortable, and the heat alone made it difficult to enjoy the meal. To make matters worse, we spent the entire dinner fighting flies. The steaks were around $50 each, and honestly, they were underwhelming. They lacked seasoning and flavor, especially for the price point. I've had better-seasoned steaks at Texas Roadhouse and Outback for roughly half the cost. The sides were equally disappointing: bland, uninspired, and forgettable. The bread pudding was decent and was probably the best part of the meal. Overall, the combination of uncomfortable outdoor seating, excessive heat, flies, and mediocre food made for a frustrating experience.
