Friggin great. Awesome hole in the wall spot. Half a dozen tables, so expect a wait. Sign on the wall says 'one cook and one wok', which can lead to a wait but means each meal arrives hot and fresh. Had Pad Thai (medium heat) with steak and tofu. Perfect amount of heat. Fried tofu was the best I've had. Will be back.

We're sharing Pad Thai and Pad Woonsen.

Krua Thai is the best Thai restaurant in town, and my favorite. The food is consistently delicious, and there is quite a variety to choose from. We have been friends with the owner, Lak, for years, and she is a wonderful person. The dining room is very small, so it can be hard to get a table. She doesn't accept any groups over 8. Be aware that Thai food can't be very spicy when ordered that way. I used to order 4 star, the spiciest. And it was hot! Now I order 1 star. My stomach just can't handle it anymore. And you can't return any food that you order too spicy. You ordered it, it's yours! Again, the food is delicious, and well worth a visit by you!

I'll start by saying the food was "edible" I have definitely had worse. My order: Chicken pad thai Thai fried rice w. Chicken I ordered my food in there "hottest flavor level 4 thai hot" I asked for double that because I really enjoy spicy food. Like really spicy. It was spicy but not what I was hoping for. The food was very bland in flavor compared to other restaurants of the same genre. I didn't even finish the fried rice. (Took 3 bites and did not continue) the rice and pad thai both had this bland taste that I just couldn't shake. Service in general seemed to be fine other than the abnormally long wait for a takeout order. My order took quite awhile to be completed about 40-45 minutes and I called in 30 minutes ahead of my time of arrival to the restaurant. The restaurant was not super busy. As for the atmosphere they had several off putting (almost rude) messages and signs all over the walls basically stating on one almost word for word "if you don't like the rules here then leave" So you could do worse eating here but I promise you could absolutely do better.

I always come to Kris Thai I found this gem a while back and I'm so happy that it's still around the food is amazing and I've never had an issue with an order! Great little hole in the wall and the service is always friendly being it is family owned.

Multiple people recommended Krua Thai in Abilene and I can sure see why! One of them mentioned to grab it to go and I certainly didn't understand this was a thing. There are only about 4 to 5 tables inside, and the staff will not move them together to accommodate larger parties. Your whole party must be present to be seated but you can tell they certainly prefer you to take your food to go. Regardless, we had seven of us who chose to be seated. You can definitely tell they are authentically Thai based on this level or lack thereof service. I love that the bottom of every page in the menu states "food cannot be returned if too spicy". We ordered a little bit of everything- fried spring rolls, fried shrimp rolls, fried tofu, pad see ew, pad, Thai, panang curry, and Thai basil. Everything was incredibly delicious and this is one of the best Thai food restaurants I've had in all of Texas. Their Thai tea is one of the best quality teas I've had the pleasure of drinking, although it wasn't as sweet as I would prefer. I would definitely chuckle given a Thai iced tea is 2.99 while a Thai tea with no ice is 4.99. We got everything with mild spice as we were certainly scared off between the signs around the restaurant and in the menu. It was the perfect spice for me as someone who enjoys a tiny kick. When you are finished, you pay at the front and they do not take any type of tap payments. I will definitely be back every time I pass through Abilene! Although I'll likely take it to go next time!

Great Tom Kha soup and others too. Spiced right to request. Thai curries and noodle dishes have been great as well. Convenient hours.

Atmosphere: Quaint little place with lots of Thai memorabilia. Very comfortable booths and temperature. It's a quiet place too. 1 Star. Service: Phenomenal. Oh (sp?) is the husband of Ann (who does all the cooking) and is the only waiter there. He was adorable and thoughtful. He came and talked Dallas Cowboys with us and asked us all about who we were and where we were from. He was genuinely interested in getting to know us. 2 Stars. Food: I don't know where the people with negative reviews mentioning the lack of flavor were eating, but it wasn't where I just ate. We happened to go on a night when they were out of several things, but with a good excuse. They are going to Thailand for a couple of weeks and didn't want to overstock the restaurant. Really wanted spring rolls, but it was no big deal. We did instead get the chicken wings, and for wings with no sauce, these were great! Super crispy and spiced just right. The wife ordered the Mixed Vegetables with Chicken and we got an order of Shrimp Fried Rice to share. I asked Oh what his curry recommendation was, and he said the Red Curry with Chicken. So that's what I ordered. I got mine "hot." There are 5 level of heat that you can order: Mild, Medium, Hot, Thai Hot, and Super Hot. I went dead middle and will definitely go "Thai hot" next time. It had a decent kick to it, but I would have been down for just a little more. The taste of the curry however was outstanding!!! So much flavor. My tastebuds were dancing. The Thai basil in there really adds to it. I ended up pouring what leftover curry I had from my bowl onto my rice and eating it. The Shrimp fried rice was also very good. The perfect consistency with lots of jumbo sized shrimp. My wife's mixed veggie dish was also very tasty. The broth was rich and almost creamy. Really stuck to the palate. 2 Stars. Overall: The place was so dead. We were only one of two couples in the restaurant for the hour and a half that we were there. I will say though, the takeout game was hopping. There were a number of DoorDash types that came in to pick up orders. More people need to go here and keep them packed. They are such nice people and worth supporting. We will definitely go back and try more dishes, because everything was absolutely delicious and the service was great. Be prepared to wait a while for your meals however. She is cooking alone, and every meal is made from scratch and comes out hot. 5 stars.

Thai Food has been my favorite food for quite some time now, but I'm still finding new dishes to try. When they are busy, the wait can be a little long, because Ann herself cooks every dish. Most dishes are cooked mild, and then you can add spices to suit yourself. I used to like it really spicy, but I just can't do that anymore. Massaman curry has always been my favorite, but tonight I tried the yellow curry and it was quite good. I think next trip I'll try the Penang curry. How about tomorrow!
