Wow!! This place was busy and I understand why! Not busy enough that you had to wait or couldn't find a table though. The menu was amazing and everything was so delicious! It was also so nicely priced too!!! The place itself was super cute and had nice merch as well!!

One of my favorite places to eat. I love Botiwalla by Chai Pani. Everything is always tasty, delicious, and packed with flavor. I've eaten at all the Botiwalla's in North Carolina, both in Asheville and one in Charlotte... and I love them all. The staff is always very friendly and the locations are always very convenient, such as, the one inside a Food Hall in Charlotte or the one in Downtown Asheville, which was the original Chai Pani... great vibes and cool spots for sure. If you've never been to a Botiwalla by Chai Pani... you have to give it a try, you won't be disappointed. You can never go wrong with the Vada Pav or any of the wraps.

5 Stars - Fantastic Indian Food with Consistent Quality I've been to Botiwalla several times, and it never disappoints. I'm a big fan of Chai Pani, and since it's the same owner, I expected great food and they delivered. The Desi Salad is absolutely amazing and a must try. Fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. If you're looking for approachable, high-quality Indian street food with bold flavors, Botiwalla is a winner every time.

After going to Chai Pani many times, we were excited to check out the Botiwalla West Asheville location for an early Sunday dinner with friends. It's more casual and counter service, but the food came out super fast! Like as soon as we had sat down, we were already getting some of our orders. I have noted in several Asheville restaurants, spicy isn't really spicy. Well the smashed potato sauce was spicy! It was a great dish, but I loved the other two dishes. The aloo had amazing flavor, especially with the ginger sauce. The paneer wrap is a very welcome vegetarian dish. The paneer is smokey and filling, and although very messy, it is a hearty satisfying meal. I would definitely order that again! I look forward to coming back and checking out more of their vegetarian offerings! But I'll be ordering the aloo and paneer wrap again!

Delicious yet again! Service was fantastic and friendly! The Desi salad (plain) is so tasty. Hubs got a chicken wrap and loved it!

Yum, yum, yum! This is an order-at-the-counter spot, but don't let that fool you! The food completely blew us away. The space is bright, colorful, and full of fun decor, and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. Our order came out quickly and exactly right. I highly recommend the chicken tikki roll and the Maharaja lamb burgers. Both are packed with incredible flavor, and the bread/rolls are perfectly toasted and buttery. Vegetarian or not, do yourself a favor and try the vada pav! Will be back here!

A fan of Chai Pani, it was fun to pop in Botiwalla while visiting Asheville from Washington, D.C. Order at the register and then find a table in one large dining room. For lunch, we ordered two of their chaats, chai, and a raspberry gin rickey. Everything was very tasty. The chai is a tad sweet without overdoing it. The rickey is like a slushy with booze. So good!

Came on a Saturday and was able to find a seat easily and order. The menu is simple and easy to navigate. Wanted to order the paneer but they had run out so ended up ordering the chicken Tikka rice bowl. Chicken was a tiny bit spicy but I loved it. Easy to chop up with my fork. Loved the grilled tomatoes. Chai tea was delicious, just came piping hot. Love that it came with biscuits. Food came out in only a few minutes (for a 1 person lunch). Was fabulous. Would recommend for anyone visiting looking for a quick lunch or tea brake. Parking is very limited nearby, but so is all of west Asheville.

Dropped in for lunch AGAIN!! Wanted to try something NEW! These two dishes were recommended to me, they were absolutely delicious.

Delicious Indian food here that's not just the usual North Indian/punjabi dishes. It's a vibrant/fun spot for some delicious Indian fusion snacks/dishes. And the chai is really well made. Got the okra fries, the vada pav, and chai. The spice is very very mild so that's the only feedback I have. Otherwise, solid quantity and reasonably priced. Lots of seating for solo, small, and large groups. They have a small corner of random Indian snacks, spices to purchase. Would definitely go back and bring some non Indian friends to this spot. The service was kind and quick.

Oh my gosh, Soooo good!! Quick , tasty and friendly service. Got the Lamb sliders and they were delicious!

Desi salad with malai chicken (dressing and chickpea crisps on side)

What a neat find! Stopped in for late lunch, had Desi Salad with Malai chicken. So good! Excellent flavors with the lime vinaigrette/spiced cashews in the mix. Thanks for the yummy meal

Indian street food concept in a restaurant. Good food, fast food style service. A bit pricey for what you get.

I'm used to a spicier butter chicken, this one was particularly sweet, but I did love the other curries it came with as well. It's quite a lot of food, I feel like two people can share it, especially if you get it with naan. The KFC sandwich was so good, I would definitely get that again. It's a nice mixture of American Indian food and the sauce is really where the money is. What I can't stop thinking about is the carrot halwa cake. It was incredibly moist, not too sweet and had a wonderful spice. I would definitely come back to try other dishes. Important to note it gets very busy and I ended up waiting about an hour on a weeknight to get seated. The service wasn't great, she seemed somewhat irritated that she was working, but could've caught her on an off day.

Having said that, there are a lot of Indian restaurants in Asheville. One I liked just closed, while several others are routinely packed and this one isn't. I stopped in shortly after opening (but still before the arrival of some of their staff) to give them a chance. One might expect a New Zealand company to do well on dairy and perhaps they do, but I was tempted by a vegan menu and ordered some chickpeas and bread. My channa masala was freshly cooked, with a good mix of flavors and herbal notes, while a garlic naan, while not something I often order during my frequent Indian restaurant visits, was delicious. But for the money, which was more than standard for the area, I don't get it. They talk about using fresh local ingredients, which a lot of restaurants around here do, and I appreciate their open kitchen, but there was way too much salt in there. I'm skeptical that they're going to make it in a busy local restaurant scene. I wish them the best and there is some quality here, but as a reviewer I'm not optimistic.

The outside area was also nice with lots of plants and a good view for people-watching. We had the buddha bowl with the great miso ginger sauce, but the best sauce was the sauce on the rice - I think it was peanut. The avocado could have looked a little better, but the tempeh was tasty, and the bowl was hearty and filling. We also shared the family favorite, which was a tofu, smashed potato, and boiled kale plate. The tofu was cooked in a peanut sauce, but I couldn't really taste it. It was still great, and I really enjoyed that smashed potato. Also, I don't usually like gravy, but this was the best gravy I've ever had. A plus is that it doesn't have mushroom (my husband is allergic). We also had the two mocktails, which were both refreshing, delicious, and reasonably priced! I will definitely be back to try several other dishes or order one of these again!
