I am giving this store a 1 for 1 reason : lack of diversity. Upon checking out, this realized how far Boulder has gone. There are multiple displays of anti-Trumo rhetoric as you pay for your goods. Want a clock that counts down to the next election, great! Want anti-American stickers , pins, etc...you are in the "right" place. Also displayed at the front of the store : anti-Trump garbage books of which I won't even bother saying the names . I know where I live...no surprise...this is America and they have every right to run their business in this way. I have my rights also and I won't be spending money at this store any longer ... For being a bastion of "diversity", this is the least diverse store I have ever been in. read more

MUST READ: Don't go there!! I worked there for almost a year and was forced to leave because I and all the other female employees were continually sexually harassed by the owner. He's a PIG. That behavior and attitude is pervasive throughout the entirety of the store's HR and Upper Management departments, who both dismissed my formal complaint to HR as "gossip." Many of the other female employees left after I did because of this situation and how poorly it was handled. The bookstore is such a magical place and it's a shame that it could be a staple in Boulder--an establishment to be proud of--but instead, it fosters such a closed-minded and unacceptable culture. read more

the store itself offers great selection of books of which i spent 44.00 weeks ago. I went in today and had to put my books on the counter and walked out. I can not patronize a business who takes a hard line in the sand against republicians. I love checking out local bookstores whenever I'm visiting a new place and this might be the best I have ever been to! I would absolutely love to just take a day to explore this entire store because I feel like that's exactly how much time you need to dedicate to take it all in. Incredible selection and while it is kind of a maze, that kind of format lends itself well to exploring and discovering all kinds of literary treasures. Definitely worth a look if you're on Pearl Street. read more

For some reason I always want to go into this bookstore every time I'm on pearl street its just calling at me and I always buy something. The best thing is that its open super later too. This was a great place in college to relax and find a new read. Now its a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of pearl st. This place is a little slice of heaven, and a wonderful refuge from the excitement of Pearl street. Not only does it have what I'm looking for and more, it is dripping with character. The staff seem to be very helpful and enthusiastic which further add to the warm inviting atmosphere that you would hope for from a local bookstore. read more

This is like a scaled-down Tattered Cover, and I always enjoy looking around here. I'm not a big fan of chains, always try to patronize independent stores. They are well laid-out and there is a nice selection of discounted and used books. The staff is friendly and helpful too. read more

I visited in October, 2024. Good, large selection of books, and a fun location. I would return here next time I am in Boulder.
