Typically, when companies offer some sort of "lifetime" warranty, it's with so many strings attached that it's meaningless. My car was repaired 2.5 years ago and started developing rust spots by the fender. We received a call yesterday asking if we opened an insurance claim. We told them that we plan to pay out of pocket for the expenses. The employee said he needed to ask his boss if it was ok. Immediately to me, that's a red flag. He comes back and says they ONLY work with insurance. We questioned what difference it would have made if we paid them vs insurance paid them, they gave some B.S. roundabout excuse. I believe this body shop ONLY works with insurance so that they can jack up the prices & likely bill for unnecessary things, so that they get paid more. Otherwise, they would have let us pay out of pocket. Beware of this body shop.
