We went on a busy night - the Wild were playing in the first series of the playoffs. TONS of TV's and a great bar and beer selection. My biggest complaint was that we were there for late night happy hour and my husband ordered 12 wings - 2 flavors. (Or, two orders of 6.) Their happy hour pricing was $2.99 (roughly) for 6 wings but we received the bill and were charged the non-happy hour price because we order 12 wings. I did ask for them to look into it and the manager came over and said that because my husband stated, "I'll do 12 wings with half x sauce and half y sauce...", we were charged for what he asked. Amazing service and amazing food for a reasonable price. Our waitress Jennifer was extremely helpful when it came to making up our minds on the food, she was also very attentive and on top of making sure we were satisfied and our drinks were topped off. First time here, and we were not disappointed! Two adults and 1 child in our party. Seated immediately and server was there within seconds to get our drink order. We ordered the cheese curds (they are the size of building blocks) half white cheddar, half pepper jack. They are very good, loved the breading and they were nice and gooey! I asked what the server would recommend and ordered the Spicy Avocado Burger (a 1/2 lb. burger stuffed with mozzarella cheese and hickory bacon, topped with jalapeño aioli and avocado). It was very good, perfect cook on burger, and the bun held up well. Our 6 year old had the Mac and cheese with fries (standard Kraft Mac & cheese). Service was outstanding and the food arrived quickly. Our 6 year old even asked to speak to the manager to tell her he was going to give them 5 stars. Stepped in last night after some overdue Christmas shopping! Very pleasantly surprised! Hailey was our server and she was friendly, informative, very polite - service oriented. I opted for a 6oz burger with pepper jack cheese and jalapeños cooked medium well. The burger was very tasty cooked perfectly served in a brioche bun. The buttery bun was a good compliment to the beat in my burger. I chose their homemade tater tots which are served with a wonderful season sauce (on the side). They were very tasty and I truly recommend those as a side. The only bummer is you only get 4 but they are fairly large so I guess the quantity it appropriate although I could have eaten a couple of extra! My husband chose the 1/2 pound California burger and it too was perfectly cooked to medium well and very tasty. He was hoping I would not eat all my tots - so he was a little disappointed as he too thought these were wonderful. We washed our meals down with a local Jack Pine Lone Wolf IPA. YUM TO ALL! We ate dinner here on a Wednesday night in August and food was really good. We had avocado fries and they are awesome and beware the slight hot kick!! Then we had a flight of beers and they were not as hoppy as I like my IPAs but still ok. We are vegetarians but they do allow you to substitute a black bean burger for any beef one so kudos to Boulder Tap House!! My family and I have been here multiple times, whenever we go we make sure to get either the onion rings or the cheese curds and occasionally we get both. They have some of the best onions rings ever at least to me they're amazing. Hit and miss is the overall theme here. Great beer selection and typically the food and service is good. My recent visit, just a week ago, involved a requested medium rare burger that came out well done and chard. I tracked down my server by getting out of my seat since the quality check back was over due. She said she would get me another if I didn't mind waiting. When the burger arrived there were no warm fries which to me is simply wrong and should accompany the mistake. The old burger was never removed and there was no manager(s) check-in nor one seen throughout my meal. It's disappointing that the lack of care has shown up at this place in a town that could benefit from better hospitality. In the end they did take my burger off my bill however I would rather have a manager stop by and perhaps some care given to the visit. I will be back to the bar for the vast beer selection but I will have misgivings about sitting at a table with friends and family. Service is mediocre. I simply think they can do better.
