UPDATED REVIEW: Make sure to check out Happy Hour! 3pm to 6pm Tuesday through Sunday and ALL DAY Monday

I honestly don't know how the rating for this location is so low. This place is great! I have not one thing that I can complain about out in this review. Our Server Bailey, was so wonderful! She was helpful? Knowledge and truly the sweetest. We ordered several things, started with the House Salad. It was perfect! The dressing, the freshness of the ingredients, it was a 5 out of 5. We then ordered the Hot Honey Oysters with blue cheese sauce, from the happy hour menu. They were so good! Not too hot and full of flavor. We then had both the House Club Salad- (delicious) and the Tempura Chicken with the Bacon & Onion Potatoes (SO good!). The dishes really were both full of flavor and quality ingredients. We finished off with a Jalapeño Pineapple Mocktail as well as a Lemon Drop. Great ending to our meals. They got it right. All of it! These things, along with the upscale look, and the casual comfortable atmosphere was just that big extra taking it to amazing. We could literally find not one thing to add here as a negative. They got it right! Highly recommended!

Came for brunch! Let me tell you, it's worth it! Delish food, good brunch drinks and friendly staff! I got the Bbq shrimp and grits, was wonderful! Hubs had eggs Benedict, and he was pretty happy as well, although he mentioned the hollandaise was a little too lemony for him, but overall enjoyed his meal. We enjoy going to boulevard for date nights so we switched it up for a morning brunch! We're glad we did!

We dinally decided to try this spot after being recommended months ago, the atmosphere service was on point. The Hawaiian ribeye is what we both chose to get, although mine was a bit too charred on the outside it was still yummy. What I've been thinking about is that mascarpone cheesecake. I need to take the drive for another slice.

I was craving their famous tempura battered chicken fingers so bad. I drove an hour just to have them. They are not anything like they used to be. They are soggy, chewy and the batter is nothing special. I wasted $28 on this when Caines would have been better. Take a look at the pic. Pathetic. Service was very lackluster too. My partners burger was not good either. Bummer all around

Stopped by on the way back to New Orleans for a late night meal and was pleasantly surprised! Around 9 PM, the restaurant was fairly empty for Friday night, but most people seemed to be vibing at the full & extensive bar. Brian was awesome at recommending dishes. I had the redfish with sautéed spinach. Man, that was a 10/10 decision. The fish was cooked perfectly and added a side of the lemon herb aïoli to go alongside the lemon butter & it was the perfect blend of flavor. Don't be deterred by the picture because the portion was actually very filling. Definitely looking forward to returning for the awesome happy hour or even brunch back in New Orleans!

This is a very nice place. A little on the upscale side. We ordered a bacon cheeseburger. I really couldn't taste the bacon. It was very good and very expensive. $20.75 for a burger and fries. Again, very good and messy. Cooked perfectly, nice flavor, but the bun was no match for the burger. Towards the end it was mush. The service was iffy. It wasn't busy and I had to request the waitress to come to our table. I needed refills of tea and to get the check. It's not a problem when it's busy, but she seemed more occupied with the host and another waiter up front.

Roasted pork chop with braised red cabbage and goat cheese

Really good experience overall. The pork chop was amazing, and the espresso martini was one of the best I've had. Great atmosphere and friendly service. Our server Jeremy took great care of us and made everything easy. Will be back for sure!

    Spinach Spinach & Artichoke Dip

We sat at the bar, it was very busy. Only 2 bartenders were working and both seemed overwhelmed. Some dishes were broken, a bottle of liquor fell and broke- it was a bit chaotic. We were thanked for our patience, and they were working hard. We ordered the spinach dip which was delicious. We also ordered chicken tender salad, also very good. I prefer to go for happy hour, as the drinks are pretty expensive at regular price.

What an amazing experience with service, ambience and the exceptional flavors this restaurant…read moreoffers! Truly the biggest gem in Madisonville! We dined here late lunch/early dinner. The decor from street view of the restaurant is welcoming and yet, once you walk inside it gives you the artsy, modern & sophistication to another world. I was pleasantly surprised and admire this take in its art form. We ordered 3 plates to share, Calamari, Cevice Clasico, & Pulpo Anticuchero & a couple Pisco sours. Each dish was plated and cooked perfectly, especially the octopus. Octopus is usually overcooked in most establishments, but not here... it was melt in your mouth outstanding. I honestly can reorder those plates again for the next visit because they are actually that outstanding. They do have a speakeasy (upstairs) open on Friday's and Saturdays which is themed to Scarface and even have a connecting outside front patio lounge to that. Unfortunately they weren't open at the time, as we visited on a Sunday. But we still got a pretty cool tour by our awesome server. Needless to say, this place has won our hearts and we will be back to try more! Note: if all the parking spots are taken in front of the river, there is ample parking right behind the restaurant.

We stopped in for Sunday brunch on my daughters birthday and had another fantastic meal…read more I ordered the Louisiana Crabmeat Sardou, and it was outstanding. Think eggs Benedict with a Louisiana crabmeat twist. It starts with a buttery homemade biscuit topped with a whole artichoke heart, creamed spinach, a perfectly poached egg, hollandaise, and caviar. It's served with a generous portion of lump crabmeat and a side of potatoes. With so many rich components, I expected it to be heavy, but everything was surprisingly balanced. Every bite worked together, and it was an incredibly delicious dish. My wife ordered the French Dip, which was the brunch special, and she absolutely raved about it. The shaved ribeye was incredibly tender, the Gruyère added just the right richness, and the au jus was packed with flavor. My daughter, who considers herself a burger connoisseur, insists their Brunch Burger is the best burger she's ever had. She ordered it again today, and it only reinforced that opinion. I also tried the Golden Hour cocktail, and it may have become my new favorite. I highly recommend giving it a try. From the food to the service, everything was exceptional. Tchefuncte's continues to deliver one of our favorite brunch experiences, and we can't wait to stop in again the next time we're in the area.

We really enjoyed Tchefuncte's!…read more They have their own parking lot, so it made it very easy to get in and out. You just park, the go inside, and the restaurant is on the 2nd floor. The service was phenomenal! It was for an anniversary, and they made sure to tell us happy anniversary, and add it to a little sign that was left on our table. Now for the main part: the food. Fried Oysters and Pork Belly - very good, if you get this make sure you eat them together (that was our "best bite" for that serving). Wedge Salad - one of the best wedge salad's we have had. The blue cheese dressing was creamy (rather than chunky blue cheese). It had crispy shoestring onion strings that almost acted as the croutons. I loved every bite that included lettuce, tomatoes, onion, and bacon. Delmonico Steak - this was probably our overall favorite item. Just a great steak, and large enough for both of us to enjoy. Redfish - this was good, not great. Would probably try something else other than this if we went back. Tchefuncte Potatoes - they almost were like a twice baked potato (flavor wise), but they are super creamy and fluffy and then turned into a lightly fried ball. Good and very unique. Crème Brûlée - if you like crème brûlée then you will enjoy it here. A classic dessert that was delicious. And to top it all off, the ambiance was great. It is right on the water, and service was very attentive.

We were greeted warmly when we walked in and seated quickly, and the service throughout the meal was top notch. Everyone who served us was incredibly kind and helpful. The interior relies pretty heavily on the lake views, but it's still a comfortable and inviting spot for dinner or a drink. For an appetizer, we tried the crabmeat gnocchi, which was absolutely delicious and something I'd happily order again. For entrees, we had the hamburger and the salmon. Both were very good, although the salmon was the standout and definitely something we'd come back for. The burger came with a salad that was extremely tasty, but it was served in one of the most frustrating bowls I've ever encountered in my dining life. It was basically like trying to eat out of a spinning top. Maybe that's part of the charm.. keeping you fully engaged in the dining experience. For dessert, we had the Aperitif Press with coffee gelato. Again, very tasty, although I thought the donut pastry was just missing a little something. Overall, we're very happy we tried Aperitif and will definitely be back. We'd recommend it to anyone, with one caveat: bring your best focus when attempting to eat the salad.
